Re:those who refer to "butchering" the song:

In dance competition routines there is a strict time limit. For most competitions, the time allotted for duets is usually 2:30 or less. So, in order to get full points, we choreographers must edit/cut music.

This edit was skillfully done!

Believe me, I have heard some ATROCIOUS edits in my 20+ years as a dance teacher!

I'm assuming you love the original version, & it's hard to hear it shortened.Just know that it is in no way a "slap" to the artist! =)

They took the song and cut it up into the awful audio track that they were dancing to. It makes me sad that they would butcher such a beautiful song like that.

Beautiful choreography, perfect execution, good technique, but i feel like you could have made a better connection with your partner. Still this was an amazingly wonderful, and stunning performance . Yea i agree, but the girl was slightly more musical and understood her charecter more. The boy forgot himself I think during some of the more intense partnering points, and didn't really do as much as the girl as far as technique. Good for being in high school though.

I love the Tango form...the walking away, the coming back, the stalking, the seduction, the implied violence. I almost embarrassed to admit it. But it is so perfect in the complimentarity of the traditional masculine and the feminine roles. I'm not saying I think this is the way real life should be--far from it--but as stylized in art and dance, it is invigorating and difficult to resist!

i watched this video two times through 1st to see if he was in fact moving like a man or not & then to watch the dancing .i never found a problem . i thought that each person here danced there role precisely how it should have been danced yes men in a tango take lead and show strength &control but at the same time ball room dancing including tango does have a finesse to it that comes off feminine for males and females

well clearly ococircusboy ...i dont know whos teaching you but. take it in to consideration its a tango song and if you see alot of the male dancers they wind their bodys and its good for a male dancer to actually have the knowledge of how to move around more femininely....it helps out when a male is doing lyrical do be not so stiff.. like freaking mr roboto......personally i think Marshea did a fantastic job...its finally good to see someone so well developed in that style of dance! want to go!
