  • I don't want Aida or anyone else to know a single thing about where I'm driving. These damn robots are starting to get on my last nerve.

  • DIOS

    ¿AIDA?

    xDDDD

  • 0:02 - 0:16 AARGHH! THAT DREADFUL VOICE! What an annoying skank voice I have to suffer in the car. Hopefully AIDA doesn't sound like her.

  • Yes, I often forget how to get to the supermarket I use 50-100 times per year.

  • Is there a pleasure model?

  • "hey, you're driving a little fast there. lemme just let the cops know you're safety is in danger. Oh, did I say that last part out loud?" Seriously. If anybody knows a way to take the phototicket stoplight monitors off of the stoplight and onto my dash, please let me know. What is to stop law enforcement from quietly monitoring an online system that tracks your speed. Or doing anything short of making these a mandatory safety regulation?

  • @bvolsky What's to stop them? You, don't let them make it mandatory. If you don't like your current government then stand up in arms. Not attacking you, just saying. I find the current government to be rotten beyond repair, time for a replacement.

  • Who do you think is going to be monitoring all this data? They already know where you are is you use a dashboard GPS. You don't think that it will only direct you to selected shops? Eventually the car will drive you and the government will have more control over your car than you do. This is twenty-ten people!

  • amazing, I'd buy car just for aida!

  • A car is almost the only place where we have any once of freedom left. Anyone who thinks this is cool or would actually help you any way shape or form doesnt deserve a driver's license let alone to own a car. Go jump of the nearted tallest building you can find.

  • lol

  • @MysticCobra04

Even though I would have to agree that cars indeed give you freedom I find it mind boggling that you believe a computer would take this away from you. You are free to choose if you want to follow it. Same goes for navigation systems : They offer an alternative. You don't need to do what they tell you to do but if you do then you might a traffic jam. And one of the biggest problems of driving that I find are traffic jams. You're far away from becoming a robotic slave.

  • First off Iam not taking about becoming a robot slave. Second at one point there will be no choice if this is standard just like almost all of car manufactures want to have in all their cars. The technology is of course getting cheaper by the months. And it will only be a matter of time before this will become the standard. If the gov tells the car manufactures to make that so they can have the ability to do what I was talking about.

  • Google would be proud!

  • AIDA is an excellent example of the potential for affective computing/robotics. In a few more iterations, this may have some real practical use for the majority of drivers. For example, imagine a facial recognition feature that allows AIDA to determine if you're tired, angry, or potentially in an unsafe driving state...a particular response may save your life on the road. Location based, GPS-style, cues are also a very good idea.

  • @Baldeagle79

Hey Baldeagle ever herd of the NWO you might want to look that up before you go defening this AIDA bullshit system that has only been dressed up as anything remolety really usefull for the driver as for its real purpose which is to track you every single move in your vehicle which is the only place everyone has an once left of real freedom left. If you need this shit in your car you shouldnt be driving one.

  • irgendwie goil heute lol wer will chatn hab auch bilder usw

  • This is like if WALL-E and EVE had a baby and it preferred the Cars movie over its parents' movie.

  • I see this as a great device for someone who uses car because he/she has to, as a car enthusiast I don't need reminders when to fill up or where or stuff like that, but since we are a minority, I guess it would help a lot of people and certanly ease off congestion. Good work. BTW. these two comments under mine are EPIC :D

  • next version will be located under wheel - lol :)

  • Call me when AIDA can drive the damned car while I stretch out in the back seat with a good book. Until then, I'll take a train to work and buy a beach house with the enormous amount of money I save not owning a car.

  • @icaruspnw your comment proves you have never had a interest in cars or their real purpose ever in your life.

  • Is the voice of the narrator really what's important about this project? You guys should discuss the content instead, and show everyone how bright you are !

Technology is here to facilitate certain tasks in order for one to concentrate on other things that are primordial to them, be it programming or philosophy. Can one say that the collective IQ of humanity has lowered because of technology? i'm pretty sure it isn't so.

  • this bitch does not sound like she goes to MIT. she sounds like she goes to community college

  • i agree, her voice is really HOT!

  • KAWAII !!

  • Is AIDA also aware of what takes place in the back seat?

  • I would love to test if the manged to program in an "OH FUCK WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!" face for this machine. The stupid thing would probably just nag me that I am wasting fuel by accelerating too sharply and braking. Boring. I want this machine to fear me.I want to make it scream " NO DISSASEMBLE! NO DISASSEMBLE! AIDA #5 IS ALIVE!"

  • very cool!

  • Really? Is this something you really want staring in your face from your dashboard making funny faces when your trying to drive especially in heavy traffic? Plus I think the inventors at MIT have been watching Flight of The Navigator one to many times.

    Max: Compliance

  • Because it is too difficult for you to think of these things and plan for yourself. Let's become so dependent upon tech that we have no clue how to do things on our own anymore.

  • At least we are still driving with this thing, wait until the car is completely automated. Won't be that much longer, take a looked at the DARPA challenge.

  • got a link?

  • Why are you scared of technology?

  • Because I am a programmer and I work in the technology industry. I know how dangerous it can be to have so much power weilded so easily by the ignorant. With geat power comes great responsibility. Having people not know how we got to where we are or understand the real way to do things before having the easy way handed to them lowers the IQ of the collective of humanity. What happens if all tech disappears tomm? How many would know how to survive? Think deeper.

  • Great example, how many people can actually do regular math anymore in their head or without the aid of a handheld calculator? A simple device used to assist and increase efficiency has been abused to the point that people are ignorant to basic math and equations these days. I do not necessarily fear technology, I have a healthy respect for it. Like I do for chainsaws. I still know how to chop wood with an axe though. I wont get into the privacy issues of this system.

  • They don't even make clear whether it talks to you - something I want to know, maybe. Demo should include it's regular operation. I can't make up my own mind half the time, and this thing is supposed to learn my habits? My wife knows ALL my habits and she still doesn't understand what I want most of the time. Get real people! This is not the future we want, where machines make up our mind for us.

  • No her, voice is hot.

  • It sounds like a retarded whore talking. How is that hot?

  • What a piece of idiotic, useless, invasive and ugly technology!

  • 1 name. kit.

  • 1 word. creepy.

  • agreed
