Seriously.. you're right that M division is more 'race-ish' which is great. But an AMG you don't just buy to impress buddies.. you have clearly never had the priviledge to drive an AMG. AMG combines huge amounts of torque with class and luxury.

I'm not some some of internet bragster.. I don't own any luxury cars but I live in a rich neighbourhood and I drive 120K+ cars dayly. I then clean them to thank the owner.

When BMW make something as glorious as the SLR McLaren or the CLS then i might say they are as good a car maker as Mercedes. They are good at what they do but anyone who tries to say they are on the same level as Mercedes clearly knows nothing about cars.

BMW have never made anything as good as the SLR, CLS, S class,SL and theyre older cars didnt even come close. The CLS 55 was as fast as a ferrari 575 around the top gear track.

There is not one BMW that can compete with that.Case closed

mate yes merc are good. But they need to use their brains a bit, whats the point of making all these cars that are so expensive that nobody buys them. I mean for 1 example-did u watch top gear the other day, they hav created a car that costs a lot less than the SLR, but is more powerful. They are both good car manufacturers, but BMW know their market, and build to suit it. In a way its easier to just bung a huge engine in and make it cost loads.

the new C-class is out-selling the 3 series by a considerable margin. And merc dont simply dump a big engine into a standard C. Basically everything on that car is changed except the chassis. In that regard its comparable to the M3 saloon.

the SLR will be out of production by the time the sl65 black series is released.

I agree about mercedes making some questionable marketing decisions as they have released some shameful shit like the A, B,, CLC, R classes but BMW have also released the X6
