the funny thing is, is that if you go to mcdonalds website is says they use fresh eggs which okay whatever, but then you have about four different kind of oils, artificial flavoring and various other ingredients. so they don't just crack the egg right into the ring and call it good. False advertising for you!!!

I've worked at MD for 6 months and the egg in a mcMuffin, I had to make, came in plastic bags similar to the sauce packages, but just bigger. You peel off the top and put it in a small steamer. The steamer just makes it hot and melts the surface to look like it's liquidy. As for the eggs themselves, I always thought they were made by some protein formula, definitely not real eggs. The egg and yolk were always in the same place and size. Unless they clone eggs, I'm suspicious.

the water goes on top of the eggs but it evaporates quick, which explains why it looks like a cross between a hard boiled egg and an egg cooked over easy.

actually mcdonalds does use fresh eggs. We receive them in bulk. on the egg mcmuffins we use the eggs in the shells. on scrambled eggs they use liquid egg. on the folded egg we used to use fresh eggs now they come already folded
