You really can't prep these as a regular turkey can you? I hear they're too tough, is there a type of turkey which can be roasted whole and not be shoe leather?
@RightWingCon81 Wild birds are leaner since they run around more and are not plumped up with chemicals and salt water. To me wild turkey meats tastes better. You can breast them out and put the legs in a crock pot too.
@useockhamsrazor This one I just breasted the meat out for cutting into chunks and deep frying. Keeping the skin on can be used to keep more juices in it if you roast the bird.
MISSOURI HUNTERS AND VOTERS--Here is your chance to fight back! Nov is coming and we need your Vote! Let's tell the HSUS where it can shove it's law and regulations in Prop B! HSUS Propaganda may target Puppymills--but we know better! First dogs, then livestock and hunting!
Hunters, farmers, pet owners---not just responsible breeders should be VERY concerned. We have the Power to change our future! I value my rights! Do You? Say NO to Large Corporations running America! Vote NO on Prop B!
@quikhonda bids? or vids? You're right, this was a hasty put together deal and that dang bird that was tweeting over the top of me the whole time didn't help. I'll try and do a better one next time with your suggestions.

you don't get as much leg meat cause they run so much were the non-wilds a just sitting in the pen all day

You didn't pluck many feathers, why not? So basically you just slit the skin open on the breast and pull back the skin, then cut out the breast?

@useockhamsrazor We cut the breast out to cut into chunks to deep fry. There are different ways to prepare a turkey, this is one.

NewfoundHunter 1 year ago
@NewfoundHunter This was in Missouri, they have telephone check in now, no more taking the bird to a check in station.

Should have explained how to pluck feathers and give a step by step process. There are better bids out there

i turkey hunt with a .22 air rifle/ pellet gun and go for headshots. it kills the bird and dont ruin ur meat or leaves bbs in the meat
snobord4lifeEL 2 years ago
@snobord4lifeEL thats why you dont aim at the body with a shotgun i can aim at a turkey and get barely any pellets in the meat with a shotgun
