Steam is a waste, they don't support standalone downloads. Never had problem with Direct2Drive, and I don't need another application to make my games run. And it's also 10$ on Direct2Drive, Steam ain't the only place people can find great deals. Fight for your right for standalone games!

the best thing at this game that diablo doesn't have (yet) except fishing and pet is that you can combine the 3 classes from your hero...the spells don't interact ...arcane and lore works very good...pet, alchemic golem and beam golem keeps the mobs busy for me to use spells

The score in this video is AWESOME! If it is the same music in the game, people would definitely enjoy it. Actually, in comparison between Diablo and starcraft, the Score for starcraft was much better. How many Arpg's have you played? They all copy ideas from other Action Rpg's, thats the idea! The games you listed were pioneers of the genre ("I've also played Nethack, father"), but the genre would have probably fallen in disgrace if not for Diablo.
Some of the people form blizzard north worked on this game, as well as the people from mythos. Matt Uelmen the music composer for diablo I & II did the music for this, im expecting this game to be one hell of a one.

Yeah, they haven't finished the online mode yet, they're just giving us single player to mess around with until they finish it. The MMO wont be ready until 2011. But they're giving us a level editor that looks really easy to use so we'll probly see lots of fun campaigns and things soon after release.

OMG, dont make a alchemist summoning class, gets boring when u get to level 20+ cause all you do is sit back and buff ur cretures....
matter of fact all summoning classes get boring...
I have a retired level 40 Alchemist, shouldve kept him..., would be fun with co-op also, other then that game is badass for the price.

correct me if im wrong, but ppl from starship studio did hellgate london and mythos then starship studios got bankrupt and closed down.
ppl that did fate and ppl that did diablo 1/diablo 2 and former flagship studios made "Runic games" and theres where we are today ;P

Feel compelled to say that "made by some creators of Diablo" doesn't mean this would be better than Diablo 3, just that it should be pretty good. It makes sense that the better guys are still at Blizzard, because that's where the money is.

Actually if these guys left and started their own company then even if this game sales are only decent, they will probably make considerably more money than they would as employee's of blizzard.

How many Arpg's have you played? They all copy ideas from other Action Rpg's, thats the idea! I'ts not like it's a bad thing, besides, you might actually like this game if you are interested in Action Rpgs like Diablo 2, Dungeon siege and Fate. Have a look at some Fate or Mythos gameplay, those games are similair in content, they havn't copied anyone and neither has Torchlight. Game is out tommorrow! Try it, you might actually like it.

Sure, try for instance the first company that comes to my mind, Piranha Bytes, , try Bethseda Softworks , then we have Ascaron and their Sacred, Triumph Software, Sigma, Ensemble Studios , Raven Software , all of these companies, and dozens more produced better games than shitzard, and my friends and I've spent ten times more time with them than with any of shitzard games, stop being such a fanboi, open your eyes and see shitzard for what it really is...

All I can say is that Diablo,Warcraft3,and even almighty Wow are very very old games and only because of that some guys are slowly reaching the quality of those games.But once they reach or are close..Blizz are atleast ready to fight by launches Starcraft2,Diablo3 and someday new Blzizards MMO.They are definately a company with huje potential.

Huge potential? they have already proven themselves. Starcraft and Diablo were LIGHTYEARS ahead of their time. Even today other game companies feed off of their scrapes and make imitation games. IMO Blizz is one of the kingmakers in the gaming industry, no doubt about it!

What you don't explain is that if Diablo didn't happen, the hack'n'slash games wouldn't even exist. Therefore, you wouldn't even be here posting nonsense. Success in the videogame industry comes with talent, not just because of hype.

I didn't say it was the first one, I said Diablo was the game that spread the genre to a much wider variety of gamers (sorry for my English), and created a great example of how to make a modern h'n's game (considering all the ripoffs that came after it).
The games you listed were pioneers of the genre ("I've also played Nethack, father"), but the genre would have probably fallen in disgrace if not for Diablo.

Some of the people form blizzard north worked on this game, as well as the people from mythos. Matt Uelmen the music composer for diablo I & II did the music for this, im expecting this game to be one hell of a one.

Yeah, they haven't finished the online mode yet, they're just giving us single player to mess around with until they finish it. The MMO wont be ready until 2011. But they're giving us a level editor that looks really easy to use so we'll probly see lots of fun campaigns and things soon after release.
