    坚持下去的动力还在

    NOTHING I WILL BE AFRAID!!!!!

  • Don't they mean, "Nothing I will be afraid (OF)"? Sorry, but as an english expert, i can't help but help correct grammar.

  • Comment removed

  • @ronaldli5 Try adding a "OF" behind "Nothing I will be afraid" while you're singing the song, the song will sound awkward. So I don't see anything wrong with it.

  • @ronaldli5 english expert............you have no expertise in music......

  • @ronaldli5 there is no different with of or no of la...what english expert...is a song after all...all you need is meaning behind the song and it must be smooth...if u add a of become the sentence- nothing i will be afraid...it will be awkward

  • @ronaldli5 did you just call yourself an english expert?..

  • @Dargreat Hmm... let's see.. Oh right, yes. Yes I did... Now shut the fuck up and find something else to do besides commenting on a 2 months old comment. Bitch.

  • @ronaldli5 um...I'm NOT AN ENG EXPERT. My eng sucks! But what I think is, the sentence "Nothing I will be afraid" is okay~

It won't be okay only if it's "Nothing TO BE afraid". This one surely misses the word "of" at the back.

Anyway, the main point is knowing the meaning behind this sentence.

Don't be too persist in the grammar mistakes:)

Btw, I LUV THIS SONG SO MUCH!!!!

    It really cheers me up:)

  • @katyycw93 You are right, "Nothing I will be afraid" would be (in correct English) ][There's] Nothing to be afraid [of], [There's] Nothing I will be afraid [of]. All in all good song

  • like this song !

such a good song and meaningful lyrics. i wished jiro played the guitar with them tho XD

  • labbish

  • do we have the karaoke of this? which means instrumental

  • takadi is probably on the unemployment line so he/she has all the time in the world to mess around with u guys lol.

    so silly.

  • I suppose that's very possible. Maybe this guy should go back to school and finish grade 10.

  • Jiro looks amazing in this. n its his voice omg haha

    fir is amazing too

  • @takadi, for FIR and asian bands to use english in these days is completely normal, since they were integrated with the english language as they grew up since english is supposed to be the

"international" language. It has become part of their culture, and also daily lingo. using it does not make them westernized, since english has become part of their everyday lives.

  • Compare their pronunciation to other non-educated Chinese. They pronounce the words better than others although most probably they were not educated in English. Takadi, stop your nonsense.

  • this song really rocks !

  • I agree with HKCOfficialPage . Takadi , go and die lahs . Wad fer judging ppl lehs ? Nobody is perfect . Ppl come here to enjoy the video , not hearing your crap . -_-

  • This takadi fool is still trying to start shit here? What a total loser.

I come here because it's a good song and the lead-singer chick is really hot.

TAKADI - why do you bother? Go away! Get a life.

  • Well I thought clearly explained why I came back here - it's to see the hot Taiwanese chick in the video, definately not you!! Hahaha You are so conceited!

You obviously keep coming back just to nit pik at some shit - truly pathetic.

  • Takadi. Go fuck yourself. I don't know why you're holding a debate on here since 1957, bitch. Do you even have a life? You first came to comment on this video to point out their English. I don't think it matters. The video turned out to be a success, and it was performed in many concerts all over China. Your words don't matter to them, so watch the video, and move on. No one wants to argue with a motherbitch like you. You're not worth the lip. Bye bye. Take care.

  • And didn't I tell you to get lost takadi, bye bye? You must not understand the words coming from my mouth, or better yet, my typing, because I don't stutter. Why are you correcting my English, when you can't even understand my simple English? Fuck off.

  • <3 faye

  • screw you haters I love this video! it is not about racism at all it is about being a dumbass stupid and I dare say negative people are down right stupid :) thank you *bow*

  • love f.i.r so much lol

  • dude , US survives bankruptcy coz they have a large ecnomic of other things. Get the FACTS right...

  • WTF? This is A freaking music video, why are you idiots talking about fucking Racism? Honestly, why don't you NOT talk about it here? and honestly mature up. You said it, it's been happening for thousands of years, stop it. At least here. And <3 F.I.R

  • you can see that takadi started it and wrote 3 times as many comments as me!

    I'm just saying..... :-)

  • takadi, Jin the rapper was mainstream at one point (not sure if he still is, don't really follow), and he spoke Chinese and used Chinese words in his music. You also have to consider that English is a dominant language spoken all over the world. It's like hearing a Caucasian speaking some Spanish. If you think these songs are cheesy, why bother listening to them. I am sure you listen to music that I would consider cheesy.

  • But yet in Lydia, Spanish lyrics are sung or spoken as well, but they actually bothered to make it pronounced well and grammatically and poetically sound.

That's why this song isn't particularly my favorite. The English words could easily be replaced with Chinese and it would probably be just as good or even better. They aren't as bad as some Japanese bands however that are oblivious their embarassing act

Jay Chou's a legend in Asia and he barely uses English words, let alone phrases

  • It is more the implied reason why they use English that makes it cheesy or inauthentic. America worship comes to mind, plus some colonial mentality. It runs alot deeper than just a song

  • Since I couldn't see your 1st comment, I apologize if I missed a point you have amde.

    Human beings make mistakes =/

We could all make the same mistake no matter who we are

Using English words in music is an option, not necessarily an obsession.

The pop culture practically came from America, it isn't that wrong to "worship" American culture.

There's always a cycle in the world. Before, Greece & Rome were worshipped, then France & England, now America. Who knows what comes next.

  • I saw something today. A very pretty asian girl was in my lab group, surrounded predominantly by white kids. We were going on a field trip. One of the kids driving was asian and he gets lost. She yells out "Fuck asians! learn how to drive!" All the white people laugh, and one of them says "That's hilarious, my roommate is asian and she hates asian people too". All while I was there.

    It is a disease

  • Some people don't see themselves as who they "appear" to b & often deny their own lineage. Maybe that Asian girl doesn't see her as asian since she thinks she's more american inside than asian. This doesn't mean I approve of her. I've had the same experience b4 when my school band went on tour to Seattle & there's an asian who said, "Why's this Canadian school band full of F-ing asians?!" However, this isn't really american worship.. more like different conception of oneself & racism.

  • The asian girl may have been brought up to think/act like Americans, thus she can see herself as one. It does not matter what you look like, it's the personality that counts.

I took this sociology course where we compare american beauties from each decade. The result: asian features are becoming more favourable than that of european. Asian food is getting more popularity worldwide. Hong Kong was/is a city of trade, thus using English, a main trade language, is common. I could too go on 4ever.

  • I can see how asian features are becoming more popular; asian girls are just another target of sexual conquest for white men. Notice how asian girls are pretty much everywhere in the media, but asian men are nowhere in sight. I don't see how liking asian food (which is quite delicious anyway) makes you any more asian. I get your point about Hong Kong, but it was also an English colony.

In america, people who admire asia are considered lonely nerds. In asia, everyone admires america

  • You are a racist douche. Holy shit.

  • It is obvious we have two different perspectives on the same issue, and I respect your positivity on the issue and wish I was the same, but from my experiences as an asian man in america, some really old deeply rooted racial tensions, stereotypes, and issues still exist strongly. I wish it didn't care and could ignore it all, but it's too sickening not to.

  • Going back on the original issue, that's why I like FIR, they have some very original songs that celebrate chinese culture that don't have to use random english words to be cool, but when you see it happening to a band you love, you can't help but speak out against it. I mean, what's wrong with Chinese? Jay Chou sounds awesome without using English words. American singers don't have to use Chinese words in order to sell records...

  • haha even though the way you put it is extremely blunt, thumbs up to you :)

  • 大東^^,,,,

  • Comment removed

  • If they simply made an extra word and made it "OF nothing I will be afraid", it would have made it ten times better

  • We still understand what they're saying, so who are you to judge, laughing at them?

  • Ok, I just want to say the obvious here...(I think it's needed)

These guys are a musical group, they're professional artists. There job is to go and make music to entertain us, it's already pretty good that they can sing in both Chinese and English (yes the English is not perfect). Try and find a professional author, actor, etc. who can speak fluent and flawless English and Chinese. I know it's not easy which is why I'm very prepared to give them a little slack.

  • I'm sure you can find many English mistakes with Britanny Spears and the rest of them.

And I'll even bet anything that they would make a ton of Chinese mistakes if they sang in Chinese.

  • Okay let's imagine a Chinese person listening to a Britney spears song. All of a sudden, broken Chinese lyrics are sung. What would be a Chinese person's reaction?

My guess is one of two things. Hilarious laughter, or the more probable, being insulted for having their language butchered.

  • When you have so many asian groups singing in English when they can barely speak it, it makes you wonder WHY they do it in the first place. Why don't they sing in Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese? Don't you see where I'm going with this?

When you have asian groups sing in English, they sound like wannabes, posers, like they desperately are trying to be Americanized. It sounds even more so when you are an actual English speaker.

  • I'm not saying FIR sucks, but this particular song and others sound cheesy because of the aforementioned reasons. Music is about choices. It makes it seem like their own language isn't good enough to express their song...it sounds like they aren't original enough to find their own sound, so therefore they must imitate expressions they find in English speaking countries, such as America.

  • Last of all...PLEASE find me a mainstream singer in America they randomly inserts Japanese or Chinese phrases in their songs and I will take back EVERYTHING

  • I hear you but you're missing my point here a bit. These guys are Chinese and sing in Chinese - obviously nothing unusual. They also want to sing a little in English perhaps just to show there diversity, I don't see them as trying to copy the west in any way. They just want to maybe include the English speaking world a little - at least that's my take on it all.

I would rather they stick to Chinese too, I use Chinese music to help me learn Chinese, KTV videos are especially useful to me.

  • Maybe this song is a bad example, because I actually like this song, except for maybe those lyrics.

Revolution is one song that is a better example of what I'm talking about.

As for songs like Lydia or Thousand years of love, those use minimal English phrases or none at all, and the song is expressed with so much better honesty and genuineness.

And for the sake of another analogy, why eat Kung pao chicken made with ketchup when you can eat gong bao chicken made with chiles

  • Take it back either way because not every artist uses the same style of a mix of two or more languages. We ARE proud, just don't fuck with us. Music is to express feeling in the form of beats and lyrics, etc. That is what music is.

  • "We ARE proud, just don't fuck with us."

Proud to the point where it becomes a stereotype

  • Hell yeah, whatever is convenient for you. And what is your point? So WHAT if that's what defines most of us asians? That is US. And don't quote or mimic me. I don't want my words to go into your mouth or to be copied by you, whichever is more scandalous.

  • I honestly don't care if you enjoy being a racial stereotype, it just makes me pissed that white people have to call me chink when the real one is you

  • What a typical communist, trying to define an entire people based on his standards. Go die

  • Just wait until your jaded generation dies off. The new generation of Americans will accomplish more in one year than yours did in a whole generation, assuming of course that the US survives bankruptcy.

Tossing around dated stereotypes and cliches is always your fallback safe position, nothing gets accomplished or improved that way.

I bet that when you see China, you wish it was America and that makes you bitter, jealous and wrong in every way you think. Are you that shallow?

  • Do you live under a fucking rock ???? Or are you that oblivious to the asian community?

Racism may be hundreds of years old but it still exists, no matter what your enlightened mind might think. Cliches are cliches for a reason, and that's because they are deeply embedded into the American and world psyche

And WHAT the fuck are you talking about being jealous of China because America sucks? I AM FUCKING CHINESE you idiot.

Fuck, I don't even know why I am even still replying to you

  • Ya right, you're American. Chinese heritage...sure but you are an American with a warped sense of the world. Turn off the CNN already.

And wash your mouth out with soap for fuck's sake.

  • Delusional...and you haven't made a single point yet other than "I'm american and therefore I am a lesser asian". Typical of an authoritarian commie bastard

  • You might not care if your own people harbor self hatred and white worship, but I do, and I will see to it that our people become conscious people instead of people like you who are in a deep oblivious sleep, brainwashed like the rest of them

I really did think you were the intelligent one of the bunch, but I can't believe you just pulled out the jealousy card LOL. Grow up, and oh yea, actually READ my posts before you reply with retarded shit

  • @takadi No problem, the Jonas Brothers and Avril Lavigne got you covered. I'm sure they insert Japanese words out of nowhere. they aren't great singers, but here you go.

There's nothing wrong with putting in another language. In America people like to put in Spanish into their rap. Putting in another language is like hearing someone else talk. It changes the mood and refreshes the atmosphere. Don't you think some things gets a bit boring after you listen to one thing too long?

  • @pastriexchan i like your comment ! you're cool

  • Obviously, there aren't enough beats to properly fit in "There is nothing I will be afraid". As a second language for this band, they exceed expectations, punk. You want to try?

  • Are you mentally retarded? You sound so fucking high. Shut up and stop embarassing yourself.

  • Are you sure you're from Hong Kong? You sound more like some authoritarian fool from the mainland

  • It's not smart to come here and start throwing around names, stereotypes, and this "america worship" concept crap.

It makes you sound like a typical arrogant american westerner, Normally I wouldn't care but now you're making westerners look worse. Just keep an open mind and don't be overly critical of other countries, I'm sure your own country (america for sure) is far from perfect.

  • I'm not a typical "American westerner" I am Chinese-American. Taiwanese to be exact. And it's about time people were called out on their America worship

  • love this song where can u download it?
