My bike is a ZX6E11. It has stickers on it that say ZZR-600, but the owner's manual still calls it a Ninja. Go figure.
The bike in the video is a ZX6E9. It has "ZX-6 Ninja" stickers, says Ninja in the book, and was sold as a ninja at the dealership. Trust me It's a "real" ninja, so stop hatin' already.
ZX6J (2000-02, 2005-08). Branded "Ninja ZX-6R" from 2000-02 and "ZZR-600" from 2005-2008. All are pretty much the same bike with different graphics.
@starshooter: There are no "real" and "fake" ninjas. Ninja is just a brand name that Kawasaki uses to sell sport bikes in the US. At some point in time, all of the bikes I listed were branded Ninja. All would spank a current Ninja 250r, 500r, or 650r hands down (the C model might lose to a 650r, though).
ZX6C (1988-97). Branded "Ninja ZX600R" for all years. Looks like a Ninja 250.
ZX6D (1990-1993) Branded "Ninja ZX-6" in the US and "ZZR-600" everywhere else.
ZX6E (1993-2005). Seen in the video. Branded "Ninja ZX-6" in the US from 1993-2002 and a "ZZR-600" from 2002-04. Not sold in the US in 05. Branded "ZZR-600"
all years all places outside the US.
ZX6F (1995-1997). Branded "Ninja ZX-6R" everywhere. This is the bike starshooter is calling a "real" ninja.
they go up to like E12? or something they where made from 93 till 04 (might be off give or take a year)
and the early model ZX-6's where not "ninja's" but still had the ninja stickers on the bike... during early years the differance was VERY minor they ZZR
durning the year of my bike the "REAL" ninjas had 8 more HP and where 20lbs less...
between the bigger seat and extra plasitics thats about right
also the ZZR had 10 less HP but peaks with 8more TQ (in the mid/low end)
This whole thing wouldn't be an issue if Kawasaki just called your model ZZR600 and the sport model ZX6R all over the world instead of calling them ZZR600 in Europe and ZX6E in the U.S.
lol @ you since you can't spell the word "doesn't" and can't read the word "ZX-6" on the tail of the bike. Kawasaki didn't start calling this bike ZZR600 until 2003.
Thanks man.. it's crazy how many other people have commented on this. even saying that i was claiming it was a ZX-6R ..lol.. anyway thanks for the help. later
The title says ZX-6 ... which is what it is .. You are right about the ZZR part as well. But its actually a ZX-6E. Thanks but I believe i will leave it like it is.. The right way. I know what I have.
i posted another viedeo better .. but right now sorry i am not selling it .. maybe soon though. this is my first bike that i am learning on.. only been riding about a month now... check out the other video..
the best zx6r with sidepipe is the 2003er version before 2003 the kawas have a old design at backside (no sportdesign)

the ZZR600 has ALWAYS been based on the previous gen ZX6-R
THAT is why they where called the ZX-6
why they made up the name ZZR for the EU IMO is silly. (thou thats what they are knows as worldwide now)
the ZX6-E actually refers the the generation the previous gen was the "ZX-6"D" and the current model is the "E" model
once you understand the models it's EASY i aheva ZX-6E3
ZX-ninja line
6 - engine size
E - generation
3 - 3rd year of production
