This is one of my most favorite songs ever.I was only 15 when I started to listen to Chick Corea. My first Album was Light as a Feather. Unfortunatly I never got the opportunity to see him live. You tube is good. Enough for me. What a happy time for me it was then.
Spanish people are aggressive imperialist scum wherever they go! They destroyed Mayan, Inca, Aztec revered nations and replaced it with their own shit culture (and these countries all turned into third world countries cuz Spanish are lazy bums) and they still continue to suppress Catalonian, Basque ,etc, Spanish always has and always will be imperialist scum who are good for suppressing and stealing foreign land and then they destroy these countries once they've occupied them cuz they're lazy.
Spanish people are lazy bums who don't want to work cuz they want to sit on their fatasses all they having siesta to get off from work that is the few people who aren't unemployed (1% of the whole country or something..", and that is why they have fucked up their countrys economy but of course they don't care cuz everyone elses gonna pay for these lazy bums anyways, Spanish people are the biggest leechers on the fucking planet, third world lazy bums country full of rich assholes.

@BigDaddyBass I don't mean to sound close-minded, but have you heard Stevie's live version of "Spain"? The solos sound so much the same, which is something I despise to no end.
I wouldn't say Stevie's version has more flavor, either, but it's just opinion.
@busterbrownation RnB? there was nothing RnB about it bro. That was jazz fusion all the way. If anything that was more realistic version of what Spanish music should sound like. And Stevie's arrangement had a way better setup for solo's. And if we're talking Jazz fusion, Stevie's is better cause they use more "Fusion" sounds. Weather Report was Jazz Fusion. Chick Corea Electric.....ehhh. More like Early-Jazz Fusion. Jazz Fusion pieces usually has a very wide variety in abstract sound.
Lol they sound incredible! But Frank Gambale is ugly as shit. But that does not matter at all, you're listening to them not looking at them. I mean just look at Anne Wilson. Yeah she sure has quite, plumped up within the last 30 years but she still sounds just as good as she did when they started. Looks aren't everything, it's what's within :)
Beautiful piece. The original song is a classical piece written by a Spanish composer Joaquin Rodrigo called: Concierto de Aranjuez. In my humble opinion best interpretation was redone with Al Jarreau called Spain. You can find it on youtube. Checkout Steve Gadd's solo at the end. Simply amazing. Of course Chick Corea/Return to Forever do a marvelous job. Saw RTF yesterday in Austin, TX at the Austin City Limits doing this with Jean Luc Ponty and Stanley Clark on bass and Lenny White on Drums.
im a huge fan of metal, and when i read the name of the bassist i thought it read john pertrucci. remember this song from my jazz band years, classic :)
I am a huge metal fan, been my whole life. Still I'm not afraid to listen other awesome musicians, like these guys right here. This is so mindblowing!

Adios amigos amantes de la buena musica.
@DexStanT Agreed. I, too, think Stevie's version is way funkier and catchier, but Chick takes jazz into a whole other universe. Both versions are legendary, yes, and this song is very variable. This is just one reason to consider Chick a legend.
@BukaBora I knew it was Frank Gambale on the guitar. Hahaha, his tone is so recognizable and welcoming. And yeah, one of the BEST. If not the best combination ever.
Only people with 100% confidence in their own instruments could pull this off. I haven't heard a whole lot of Jazz before.. but I'm into stacks of metal.. and the similarities are incredible. Each one of these players knows how to be a part of the band as whole.. and at the same time challenge themselves by experimenting with crazy improv.
This is a typical example where jazz music comes from heart. I listened surely twenty times this video, and can't get enough. I find it a week ago.
