@tigger6455 No, it's not. It is "Did I rock the family boat by dining on the help?" (Meaning "Did I cause a disturbance by killing and eating one of our servants?") How would "rob the family gold" make any sense? The "help" wasn't worth anything, it was just a person she killed and fed on.
The singing is good for what's been given, but I won't lie--this is actually not a very well written song. The rhyming feels very forced, along with the flow of the words. Just the first section-- "You took me from the streets to complete this union'. Yeah, listen to the way it has to be sung to keep up with the music. It's just an awkward song. I applaud Allison for being able to present this song in such a powerful way since the song itself isn't that great.
@VincentValentine1313 I fully agree. The actress does an amazing job considering how awkward the lyrics are. I think with a few subtle word changes, like 'consumate' rather than 'complete' that the rhythm might have been improved vastly.
I wished I would have seen the show. To bad that they make her way older in the show and the movie. The girl that plays her in the was 19 and in the movie she like 8. But Claudia was actually like 6 in the book.
Allison Fischer was actually about 16 when she played Claudia in Lestat, and her character was supposed to be 10 when she became a vampire. I hate it when they change things too, but let's face it, it's hard to find a six year old who can belt out this kind of music AND act well. I can completely understand why changed her age.
Besides, with all the sexual undertones in the story, I can see why they wouldn't want an actual six-year-old to play Claudia.. =/
I totally agree even if they wanted to, they would never be able to find someone that age to be able to play someone with the mentality of a 60 year old women. I think they did great in the casting for both the movie and the show. Clearly I liked the movie better but Allison did a great job in the show, she is doing it like Broadway, like the way its supposed to be. I applaud them both!
i love this song..

"It's not your fault- It's Lestat's!" XD That line always makes me laugh.

Lestat and Louis in the break for speech sound uncannily like Chip and Chris (Mezo).
Well, at least we know who'd play them if they did "Lestat" at the Bon Ton room.
