  • What a beautiful ending.

  • you know why this show isnt on anymore...-they all commit seppuku when they lose so they ran out of chefs

  • @zythepsarian LMAO!!!!!!!! i had a bad day at work, but this comment just made me burst out in laughter!

  • @linlin55 hehe glad you had a laff :)

  • 21 people dislike fish. Pity.

  • This came to a satisfying finish. I was on edge to the end. Even after the challenger's victory, the two chefs seemed to be competing on who could bow the lowest to the other in respect. No bad feelings in this one (for me at least).

  • WOW Great Battle!! For the 21 voters who dislike this episode... really have NO reason for Voting. That was hard work on both Chefs, just preping the Fish was a task. Miss this show for it's Class, Culture, and Modest Iron Chefs.

  • "maybe im asking too much.."

yes. you are asking too much. i loathe that food critic...

  • Just Wonderful... I really miss the Japanese version of the iron chef.. And it's also good to see the show when others win fair and square, because i've seen some episodes where the iron chef should not have won.

  • original iron chef series is much better for me.

  • Kishi: ...hmm...ahh i wish it would have been more salty....Oh...this is a desert...? Yes i believe this is too sweet, yes. xD

  • you know i like the voices of these announcers they are unique to me.. like this is what i would think they would sound like and i hate dubs. is there any subbed episodes on youtube? no disrespect to archo i love you! ....also someone on the first part said the challenger was cocky.. i think he was actually pretty happy and humble and he obviously had a right to be cocky. nice job... oh and that racecar driver he was very cool. more people need to have that attitude the world would be better plc

  • 2:50 There's an entire lobster in there, what more do you want?

And if he did add more lobster, she's just going to say there's not enough of the main ingredient.

  • holy shit this must've really stumped Chen Kenichi

  • challenger, next time dun be a sissy and pick sakai instead of chen, coz ur french chef muahaha

  • kishi, you are my mortal enemy,. i hate you more than life itself. you are the worst judge ever. bitch queen.

  • the chairman dresses like a champ

  • i really wanted to try the challengger's dishes!!

  • One taster, Nagisa Oshima, sounds familiar. The rebel film-maker Nagisa Oshima? Wow looks very different from his early activist days... I've seen the show many times and I am too stupid to notice.

  • That is indeed him.

  • Yeah, I've seen the show countless times, and it only just struck me that he's the famous film-maker! I really like some of his films, including 'Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence'. he certainly looks very different!

  • OUCH! Only time i saw a debacle like that was Sakai in the octopus battle. Chen Really got his ass kicked.

  • Well Yamanobe is the head chef of a seafood restaurant by the sea. I saw his win coming. Although I was surprised that he didn't choose Sakai. We would have had 2 French-style chefs battlin'!

  • ditto

  • oo, I wish I could recall all of archo's uploads in which the Iron Chef lost. But there are more than you'd think.

  • ye they do ive seen quite a few

  • ^ ^ thanks for the upload

  • I've personally never seen anyone do that. Isn't that way of eating uncomfortable? I can't imagine myself eating everday dish with a reversed fork. I won't in formal settings either.

  • @teleostomi It's European style dining. In American dining you cut the meat, using the same style they are, however, you put down the knife, and switch the fork to the right hand. As an American I can say the European style of eating is much more logical and practical than American style dining, however, to each their own. The first few times I tried eating in that style it felt alien, similar to the first few times using chopsticks, however with both they have their own uses and styles.

  • Great show! Thanks, archo. I really needed my Iron Chef fix. I was afraid you weren't going to spoil us again.

Does it bother anyone that "judgement" has been spelled wrong the whole run of the show? That is, it's only correct spelling in British English, while "judgment" is correct in both American and British English. Perhaps they leaned on BE most. They eat with a reversed fork as Europeans do, so that must be it..

  • Thanks for telling us that "judgement" is only valid in British English. I didn't know till you said that. Japanese learn Am En in school, so their using a Br spelling there is only a coincidence. Most Japanese are poor learners of English, even on TV are found a lot of misspellings. About the reversed fork usage, do Europeans actually do when eating?

  • british is the original english anyway.

    judgement is the right spelling.

american english is just a simplification of many english words, shortening the spellings of many otherwise-complicated words, and changing the s to z to fit texan accents

so judgement is the only way to spell it imho.

judgment looks like it's read as jug-ment. ew.

  • @hypermegaman

Yeah, american english is a horrible, messy language. This coming from an american.

  • @hypermegaman i thought "judgement" IS the way its spelt in America ;o ...that's how ive always spelled it at least..

  • @tekobari i was born and raised in america ;o and i have always spelled it "judgement" ....haha if i was ever marked down cuz of that, i guess i just didn't care. It seems wrong without the "e" so..

  • Aw Chen lost, atleast it was fair, and Kishi didn't need any salt this time. She's a salt whore

  • Do you mean Kishi loves salty food? I read the opposite. That Chen knew Kishi loves less salty.

  • Don't like Kishi, I'm guessing. Hey, I am right there with you. Actually, I can't stand Hosoki either.

  • Kishi is annoying as hell.

  • Tel, I had no idea that Japanese learned Amer. English in school.

All Europeans I know eat that way. The only ones I'm not ABSOLUTELY sure of, are the Brits. I shouldn't have written that so strongly.

Also, I agree that Kishi likes less salty food. A lot of people seem to mistake Kishi with the fortuneteller.

  • Thanks heaps! I haven't seen this one before so very happy to catch it you the Tube!

  • thanks archo great upload as always

  • It was the right decision, the challenger was really creative and

Chen's dishes could have been made with any type of fish

  • thanks, again for uploading. I always appreciate your efforts. I love this show.

  • fantastic battle! u rule Archo XD

  • That was a good one! Some great efforts by the chefs, and Azuma-san was really on top of it today. Much better than some of those actresses that seem to be Japanese counterparts to Paris Hilton or such.

Those dishes looked nice, I'm inspired to expand my own fish preperation skills!

  • Thank you for another fantastic battle!! I think the challenger clearly deserves to win this round. His dishes really brings out the best of this fish and each offer a unique insight into the flavour and texture of the fish.

  • The one judge put it well... with the challenger's last dish, seriously... veal broth, butter and truffles... the main theme could have been practically anything and it would have turned out fantastic. That's an advantage to French cuisine... the quality of peripheral ingredients. I love Chen, but I think the battle would have been tighter if the challenger chose Sakai... but perhaps he avoided him on purpose. Anyways, great battle.

  • I would agree to a point, but I've seen Chen use ingredients he never used before masterfully and pull of easy victories.

  • what, no.

chinese cuisine has a base far broader than french cuisine, and is far more versatile imho. most chefs u see are actually just good in their sector, or their provincial tastes.

there are many classes and 'locations' to chinese food, and ultimately only imperial chefs, supposedly true masters of all these, can be considered the true masters of chinese cuisine imho

chen kenichi is using szechuan, just one of many province-flavours of chinese cuisine

  • WOW!!!!!

  • Archo you are awesome!!! One of the best battles ever!!! And the points...WOW. Chen is my favorite Iron Chef but I have never seen him get points like that before.

  • You should see the battles where Chua Lam is judging a Chen battle. Chen won a battle 3-1 after Chua gave Chen a score of 9, if memory serves!

  • chua lam always gives low scores

  • @terrarising yeah Chua Lam almost never gives a high score to anyone.
