hahaha. another white idea to make money from the poor. all people of the deserts know that wind, sand and heat will attack this billion euro monster from the first day. but we also know we must want it.
what a great idea! this is perfect , Europe can enslave the east and north africans and make them keep the grids good and shined -up I knew you greenies were facists the problem is you don't know it --- Yet
Free energy can change the world! But the coverup is very strong,Get the blueprints for a real Magnet motor free enegy machine at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Be part of the revolution!
@tech4156 Nothing fysical that they could use is stolen. So what's the problem? If they need more energy there is a lot of dessert left. As you see in the video an area of 300 km² would be enough to supply the whole world. The world should work together on projects like this. They won't suffer from this project, only benefit.
@RoeldeB Wow your naive, oil companies make 100s of billions a year from african oil and yet in 80% of africa theres no electricity? Why do u think that is. Its like saying im gna make a camp fire but have to sit 5 miles away whilst everyine else sits around MY fire. Now solar project to benefit others. Lol ur joking.
@tech4156: The difference is that oil will deplete and solar energy won't. There is enough surface in the dessert in Africa to supply more than 1000 times the energy the whole world consumes.
@RoeldeB Your missing the point, if they wanna build it 1st they should guarantee and supply all of africa with constant electricity then they cam take some after
I am all for solar energy but very much against Desertec as it would make us YET AGAIN dependent on abroad. The only solution for Europe would be a combination of solar, windenergy, nuclear, blue energy and some techniques that they are working on now: like cobalt.
I find Desertec t be a perfect example of the values of cooperation between the 43 member countries present at the Union for the Mediterranean. An EU iniciative born from the old Barcelona process (now hosting its headquarters).
BTW your data might be outdated cos I can remember at least four more signatories, like say:
Oprettelse + vedligehold? Hvormange gange investering?

This is absolutely brilliant, the sooner this project is completed the better. A great progressive step into the future.
