I can't believe I witnissed this. I may be only 12, but I've seen all kinds of music from James Brown to Al Green to Bruce Springsteen to DMB at Red Rocks (9-11-05), and we also saw this. With that one note, I heard him say more than I've seen a lot of musicians say with many. Specifically shredding. THEORY is overrated. It's helpful, but people cling to it as if it WERE music. Without theory, there would still be music.

@Romans10Verse9 Your comment echoes my views exactly. I am glad that people see it that way as well. I'm in college learning fairly advanced theory and I work with some theory masters but I listen to dave and they all sound like musical fools in comparison. They have trained and they play great but they do not create, flourish, and take my breath away like Dave.

amazing, seeing a dave and tim show is something i think everyone must do at least once in their life. words cannot describe how unreal and beautiful they are together. tim adds a whole new perspective and feel to dave songs.

I couldn't agree with you more! I have been to over 20 DMB shows and loved every moment. But my favorite Dave is when he is playing with Tim. Luther College was perfect or so I thought. Seeing Dave and Tim at IU this past April was GREAT! Just wish I could get a recording of the show. Guess it will just have to live in my memories.

A good friend of mine of years recently committed suicide, and music seems to be the only thing that makes me feel better (not better in the sense that everthing is okay) but I get lost in dave's songs. I even make my own videos in my head, I know it sounds stupid, but I have little movies playing in my head that go with the story in the song. has anyone ever had a song creep into a dream. just like in the background of movies, I'll have a dream and then a song will play over it..is that weird?

IN the beginning it's a delay pedal (Boss DD-7) combined with a volume swells (Ernie Ball). Its all determined by the set-up (order)of the pedals. Mainly, just the delay for the rest.

And he'll definitely be at the Gorge this year. He's on the whole tour.
