I tried this yesterday. But, I went about preparing it a bit different. I put my water, 1/3 cup of Craisins and chicken on the stove and brought it to a boil. I then stirred in my stuffing, removed the pot from the stove, covered it and let it sit for 5 mins. Dinner is served...and only one pot to clean. Good stuff after a day on a trail.
I will give this a try next time out. I never done this with store bought food. I have always used the freeze dry. I just started backpacking about a month or so ago.
Get the soup boiling as directed, add the box contents. After lowering the boil, add the chicken and let simmer for a few. at the very end, add chopped cilantro and a liberal squeeze of lemon.
@beast12101 your boring and plain, get a real life, stop makin pointless videos based on common knowledge, worry more about the economy then your fantasy get away weekends on the trail ya blue collar tool
I guess some immature kids like to mess with you but i highlt reccomened that you report him as well. kids these days needs help. and beast these days need to keep it up.
@SuperKing613 You can't even use proper grammar and you're insulting the uploader of this video? I'll molest your cute little asshole in front a mirror so you can view the entire process. I'll force you to lick the rim of my freeze-dried foreskin, faggot(;
Awesome! Great idea. People should really check out this option for creating meals. The freeze dried meals are okay, but expensive; the MREs are sorta okay, but heavy to carry. You get way more bang for your buck and fun for your palate if you get creative with supermarket items such as this! And oh buy--those Spam singles are the bomb!
Mountain House, Backpacker's Pantry, Provident Pantry; all meals in a bag. 1 or 2 servings per bag. All you do is add hot water. They all have a 5 year shelf life at room temp.
Wow, that really does look pretty good :D I think I know what I'm getting my son for his snow campout coming up on the 19-20th. Thanks Beast!! His fellow Boy Scouts will be jealous, lol.
Looks very good when it all comes together! I love that chicken, I use it all the time in my pack. I wish they also had other types of meat in those types of packs...As always, thanks for sharing, you work is greatly appreciated!
Where did you find the cup and bowl? I went to cabellas and they did not have the cool bowl and the coffee cups were between $29 and $39 so I got something else instead...
Box food is such a great idea, light weight and heck tuna helper might be really good too!
the bowl is a Guyot design Squishy bowl, i got from REI. the cup is just like the GSI cup but its actually from my Wiggy's stainless bottle set. glad you like the vid, thanks
Awesome. I just made a video yesterday a little similar but I used Instant Idahoan potato's that com in a small plastic bag. I keep getting messages from people saying "Its not enough calories" I'm like wtf....This is only one thing you would eat in a meal, not the meal itself. Good idea on this video. I think I am going to be switching out a lot of my food for dehydrated stuff.
@FatherJudgement2: Hormel also has a single serve pack of breakfast sausage...I found that at the 99 Cent store and bought a few. I am going to try and put together a video of cooking that with some eggs for a decent breakfast.

Yeah, good combo. About $3 a serving from retail boxes. About $1.50 a serving from food storage.
High in sodium, but filling if enough chicken used.
