  • Sister Act the musical was the funniest musical I'd ever seen! And I've seen a fair few in London! I definitely prefer it to the film. Phantom was great when I saw it too... hmm... I expect the cast has changed since 2008 though... sounds like an awesome trip though! I wish I could afford to see so many musicals in such a short time! My family used to save up so that we could take a trip to London to see a show every year or so... :P It's cool hearing your take on the shows though :)

  • Michael - Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Webber's ludicrous sequel to The Phantom of the Opera. Phantom Needs NO Sequel! Visit us at LoveShouldDie (dot) com.

  • I never knew you went to London D:

    I missed you there D:

  • So excited to hear your reviews of the shows and your trip in general. I live in Copenhagen, but I'm going to London in November.

I totally agree with "Hobgoblins", you should do a theatre review every so often and let us know what is happening on Broadway!

  • Comment removed

  • yeah i love flying with virgin

  • Buck,

I wish you'd start doing a monthly theatre review. Just tell us what's up, what's on stage, and what you think about it all. With Glee's popularity I think it'd do well! (As if you need to justify it...)

    Please?

  • Im guessing you went to Primark to get your ties? :P x

  • That production of Into the Woods sounds epic. I love that show so much!

  • @CLagacy1984 What is Into the Woods about? It sounded interesting when Buck talked about it but I don't know.

  • @xxxxxMuzicChicxxxxx It's about basic fairy tales that we all know (Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk) and puts them all in together in one world, and shows how each character's behavior can affect their collective and individual fates. A fantastic, witty Sondheim show (which may be redundant) with a deeper subtext. Must see if you can get the chance!

  • I LOVE REBAAAAAA !!! her show is so funnyy

  • i was in my school production of into the woods and i absolutely love the music! it's my favorite musical

  • I thought that 90% of planes had individual t.v screens, woooaaah weird! Glad you had a good time in london and wooooooooo England!! Oh wait did you go Primark? basically loads of people shop there.

  • PRIMARK -3 :)

  • Yes Buck you have come back to us and see Blood Brothers! AMAZING, seriously

  • Was it Primark that those ties came from? :D

    Preimark is goood

  • Aww Michael I'm glad you had such a fabulous time! Extremely jealous that you got to see so much theatre at once....hopefully when I'm out of college I'll have enough cash to go to NYC and see all the Broadway I can find ^_^

  • Awww, you make me miss London!

Though I must admit, I did feel really weird (and American) not wearing skinny jeans. I don't have any.

I've never seen Into the Woods, but it sounds great! I should see that sometime.

  • I'm going to London in two weeks for school! I'm glad I have skinny jeans. Phew.

  • now I need to go to London to see that production of "Into the Woods" It has been my favorite show since I was about 6 (I am 25).

  • you should go see blood brothers at the phoenix theatre it's soo good :P

  • Yeah, London is super expensive.

To put it perspective: There's a National minimum wage and there's a London minimum wage and if you want to go to a London university, you get a larger loan as it's so expensive to go. Whenever I go for a theatre trip (I live about 40 mins by train away), I always have to come with a lot of money. SO easy to spend! But love it there. Completely insane. <3

Glad you enjoyed it, Buck. ^^ Hope you come again soon and you hold a meet up! You'd be fun to hang out with!

  • omg y didnt you see legally blonde, when i saw it, it was amasing lol i swear you would have loved it lol xx btw i love u buck xxxx

  • i LOVE reba:D

    i'm watching it right now:P

  • I saw Grease on Broadway with the winners from that show and...eesh. Those kinds of shows are very hit or miss.

  • Buck! How could you not have seen Priscilla Queen of the Desert on your trip to London! It was fantastic, you have to catch it in Broadway next year...

  • PRIMARK is the store you when to, I loves it. I go crazy in there!!!!!!

  • I go to London about one a year and always catch a musical, it great to get a review from you!

  • Awh. Kinda wish I knew you were coming. I would've wanted to do some kind of youtube what the buck "British fans meet Michael buckly" or something. :P oh well, next time!

  • OMG...you talking about watching Sex and the City of the flight, and Virgin Atlantic and the mall at Heathrow while waiting for your damn gate to come up on the board brought back such memories. But you forgot the near full cavity search the Virgin Atlantic people perform on you before you get on the plane.

  • i wish your husband would make an appearance on the show!

  • if an actual deaf person tried to sing, everyone would be like "it's inspiring! you can do anything if you put your mind to it!", even tho it'd sound like, you know, a deaf person singing

  • omg i went 2 see greece at the piccidily theatre 2! :) it was AMAZING! :) and the cheap shop you went 2 was probaly primark :D

  • Buck you should have watched Kick-Ass it's amazing! Plus Mika sings the main tune.

  • BUCK!! I was in London ALL summer! I saw Les Mis (with Nick J :D) and Blood Brothers...both were excellent! I was actually on my way to London when I met you back in June in NYC in the tkts line for Next to Normal! haha what a coincidence!

    <3 u! congrats on everything!

  • "it was REALLY enjoyable" LOL =D

  • You should have seen Les Mis. Its incredible :)

  • i live in england, nd most people find london expensive here! haha, the store you're talking of is probably primark, it's an awesome shop :) <3

  • Speaking of expensive things. Last time I was in London I was at Harrods with my friend. My friend was looking at a sweater and while I was stretching out my hand to feel the fabric she asked one of the girls who work there how much it was. When the girl answered 850 pounds I slowly put my hand back in my pocket without touching the fabric. It was made of cashmere, but it sounded way too expensive for a sweater.

  • Into to the woods FTW!!!! My favorite musical :)

  • have you seen blood brothers? WATCH IT, BUCK!

  • hello i live in manchester you should come !! :D i would soo meet you :D

Our cheap store is called Primark, its great im going tomorrow :D woo!

    Love You Buck !!!

  • 9 shows in 5 days, that is hardcore.

  • omg! I LOVE Virgin! when i traveled i had a connection flight in london and i was going by virgin and we were in the upper class so we got to see their 'lounge/clubhouse' in the airport and it was UNBELIEVABLE! it was just amazing.

    :)

  • Lol I just went to London last month and I thought the same thing about Heathrow coming back to LA I had no idea where the Gate was and we just walked through this huge mall in the place.

  • ALSO! I never saw "It's Complicated" but I know the girl who played the oldest daughter (Caitlin FitzGerald) She is super nice. I was just an intern at a theater company where she worked once and she was always very kind to me, and I thought she was a fantastic Juliet in our R+J.

  • @ScaryMara that movie is pretty funny

  • I cant tell if you are saying "beef" or "beets",

  • i watch the Lucy show everynight while i'm going to sleep cuz it's not dramatic or anything.

yea everybody looked skinnier over there b/c americans are mostly overweight.. :/

  • Haha skinny jeans, welcome to Europe Buck. I loved London :)

  • We often refer to "Rip-off Britain" the prices of almost everything is totally out of control.

The price of food especially has gone crazy over the last few years. The supermarkets try to claim it's because or the recession or the price of oil...but they are making record profits, so we know the truth but we can do nothing about it.

Property prices where I live have tripled in the last 10years so unless you have two incomes it's impossible to afford a house.

  • @Pook365

    Sorry that was so grim....

  • From your impression I can only think that the crazy woman you were sitting behind was Mary Poppins!

    :)

  • I've never noticed the channel name here "peron75"

That 75 made me look at your profile, yup... we're the same age.

If only I looked as good as you!

Time & genetics were not kind to me :P

  • Reba is literally my favorite show ever!! Who is your favorite chrac

  • Go to Norfolk instead. Don't need London then :)

Haha I may go see some of the shoes you saw. Good news for me is I don't need a flight. A 3 hour bus ride should do the trick!

  • Go to Norfolk instead. Don't need London then :)

  • Glad you enjoyed your holiday :) I love London, I try to go down every summer x

  • YAY CANADA! lol :) I've always wanted to see England, ever since I was 4! It's great to hear you had an awesome vacation

  • im pretty sure: In grease, most productions are licensed without the movie songs, because it was the show first with all the bad music in it (all shook up.) then when they decided to make it a movie they got the guy from the beegees to write grease (the title song) and so the newer version of the show hasn't been licensed out yet? probably because its still on the west end. so when it closes you'll probably see more high schools including the movie songs...

  • I can't believe you saw 9 shows! I would die! Literally die* Rachel Zoe style. I was in London in 2006 and had an amazing time. I'd love to go back someday! Cyber hugs!

  • Who goes to London and not see The Mousetrap. It's like going to Italy and not eating Pasta.

Dispite that the trip sounds amazing.

  • I love how you hug all the programs :P xx

  • CANADA!!!!!!!! YUSH! I had to right a paper on why I like Canada.

  • That is a shocking British accent

  • Dear Buck, i have told this girl repetitive times i was straight and she keeps trying to change by saying things like don't knock it cuz you just might like it to me how do i get her to realize i'm not interested in girls???

  • i hate grease. it is the worst thing i have ever seen. the moral is "change yourself for a guy." ugh...

  • @KysDawn i wish i could like this a million times and make it top comment.

  • I wish I could "love" your show instead of just "like" it. You are amazing and so sincere and I am literally going to get a copy of THE SECRET right now. You are so inspiring!

    A

  • Next time you should go to see Billy Eliott its amazing!

  • Yay for primark and their cheap stuff!

If you go back to London go see we will rock you- it was amazing :)

    Love you buck! :} -3

  • I'm glad you liked our awesome capital. We're very proud of it. <3

  • i love how happy you always are and its so sincere you make me smile i love youu<3

  • @HiMyNameIsZoey - where have you been in England? I'd say that smoking isn't as public as it used to be...and I'm certain that you are wrong when you say "almost all people smoke in Britain". You either live in a heavily-smoked out area or you're a tourist who's been to all the wrong place. I only know of a few people who smoke...it's not seen as a very attractive thing these days, thank the NHS...

  • Glad you loved London - it's weird that we don't really appreciate such a great city (at least us Britons don't tend to).

London is super expensive - you really need to save up. If you go to other places in England it isn't so bad.

Hope you come back soon! :)

  • Yay you came to my home country, glad you liked it! i never realised everyone wears skinny jeans until this, i may start wearing baggy jeans, see if it spreads?

  • You'd die over the prices if you went to Zurich...

  • love never dies defiantly paint never dies lol

    Into the woods is AMAZING

Mama mia worst show ha ha agreed not a fan of the juke box musical

    Heathrow airport is mental

  • HAHAHA thank you for the Love Never Dies review. There are only 2 songs that I found workable. The whole concept of Madame Giry being villanous...ugh.

    Seriously. LAME.

  • Eugh I had to do my GCSE coursework on the 39 steps, how dull

We may wear skinny jeans but we ain't small

'And there were real trees, 'cause it was outside' Love you Buck

and everyone wears skinnys, i thought they did in america too!

  • yeah, sorry about the expensiveness, its cuz they think the tourists don't know any better, you should visit somewhere lesser known, then everything is cheaper :) but THUMBS UP FOR ENGLAND!!!

  • Thumbs up for england!!!

  • yh everything is expensive in England because our £1 is the equivalent of $1.80. Nd yh i love skinny jeans but we dont all wear them just bout 80% lol

  • You're an amazing singer =] Just saying haha.

  • yeah we have really shit weather but its actually quite sunny at the moment wooo! And skinny jeans are the only kind we wear

  • im from london and i find it weird when i dont see people wearing skinny jeans lol, i thought everyone in america wore them too.

  • Seriously, you went to all the wrong shows. You should have gone to see hairspray and oliver and the woman in black, they are all AMAZING and the woman in black is SOOO scary!! It is crazy, i saw it with my school and i loved it, if you go back to london you have to go to them.

  • its all expensive because we're all rich! haha :)

  • I'm English

    I didn't even realise

  • OK honestly, not everything is small in London! & Skinny jeans are bloody brilliant! Shush! x3

Glad you had a good trip. (:

And yeah almost all Brits smoke. P: Outside because it's illegal inside.

  • England <3 NOT. small, ok we like skinny jeans..

  • Ha love your views on London. The skinny jeans thing is definitely true lol.
