  • my brother is in civil air patrol.

  • im sorry to say you look anorexic

  • Haha he took 3 hours and they look as if he polished then with a chocolate bar!

J take half an hour and you can see your reflection with em'

  • Try Kangaroo wax, a monkey could make a sidewalk shiny with the stuff..

  • haha dude i use the same polish

  • no offence mate but they look atrocious.

  • tip from the british army. use beeswax

  • @JoeBarnes95 beeswax isn't as water prof as the polish

  • Man if u were in the forces you would be in soooo much shit like you'd get skull fucked for shining combat boots For any one reading this NEVER shine combat boots only parade boot and burn shining can also fuck up ur boots

  • What happens if the boot lights on fire?

  • your so good at this, my boots SUCK!

but it might be cose when they issued me boots they were in very very shity condition, like so shit its just unfair.

  • /watch?v=oHXhVGIo00I - get the same result in a quicker time and make the shine last longer

  • When all else fails, SPITSHINE!!!!!!

  • It's been a while since I've done this. Have you tried using a microfiber cloth instead of nylons? Microfiber wasn't around in my day but I think it may actually work better.

  • Thanks. The video helped alot.

  • @CAPTutorialized First, the lighter method is crap, second, u did it wrong. The way you do it is you heat up the polish in the can until it's in a very thick liquid state and apply in circles. Keep applying and buffing until shiny. Lastly, DON'T USE A LIGHTER ON THE BOOT! IT WILL RUIN THE BOOT AND THE SHINE!

    C/A1C Creighton.

  • what age did you join the marines and also im in cap staff sergent as i said before and i think i saw u at encampment

  • My poo is shinier

  • Honestly I wasted days doing this.. this is pointless the lighter just makes it dull but looks shiny at first...your boots are incredibly dull and arent uniform ready. SrA...no wonder...amatuer ahah

  • Lighters suck, use a heat gun.

  • Thank you. I am currently a c/amn this helped me pass inspection.

  • You guys are still issued BDU's in your program. Our Army JROTC program got our ACU's 3 years ago (with boots you can't polish)

  • @crosmanchallenger1 And they all look like crap. Shined black boots are sexy. What am I talking bout, nevermind. Tan boots are a helluva lot better than black boots. Can't wait for next year, I'm going to be in JROTC.

  • @USAFFuturePilot In a way they look good but whats the point of having something shiny besides having you killed by a sniper or spotted etc. Where abouts is your JROTC you are planning to join

  • @crosmanchallenger1 Hehe, yeah. Wareham High School, MA.

  • @USAFFuturePilot civil air patrol is a lot better

  • @wesman118 No way to argue with that. JROTC is a lot less serious, and it is a class that I can fail. The tan boots still look better though (but the ACU's suck, they fit like trashbags.)

  • @wesman118

Never Say CAP is better then JROTC, It will bring negative impack to both CAP and JROTC(my CAP commander say that).

I'm a cadet for both Army JROTC and CAP.

  • @Dp649 does he also speak and post with bad grammar and incorrect spelling?

  • @bhartranft123 don't forget the part that shiny BDU's give away your position. America, looking the best to be shot like the rest!

  • @slave2reason well really on a polished boot it won't get on the leather and the second thing is leather an water DO go together

  • I joined cap not to long ago and this helped a lot, thanks!

  • leather and water DO NOT go together! It's why they make horse hair brushes...

  • Really? Your a USMC poolee ? I really want to be a marine too, that's the reason I joined CAP is to kind of prepare me for the Marines, also in MJROTC. OORAH!

    C/PVT Reese Branson

  • Is it an american thing to polish your bdu boots??? in canada we only polish our drill boots.

  • @jerryheartbreaker thats cuz the usa has to look the best to be the best

  • @jerryheartbreaker thats what I was thinking

  • Helped a lot, Thanks :D

  • Why did u wash out your boots with so much water? one of the reasons you shine is to make it so that your boots dont crack, and too much water makes them crack if not ALREADY properly shined. you r supposed to use some water but your not supposed to wash it out completely. and inless you have already shined it before and done a good job of getting the shine into the pours of the boot water will make the leather crack. If you are washing it to get off dust or dirt than there are brushes for that

  • My ma'am shoe is shinier -.-

  • haha CAPs are gay...

  • @blitzkriegkiller22

its ok what you think, but you might feel bad about that if your lost in the woods or a victim of a natural disaster,

  • Proud member of Cap

  • what core r u in?

  • @skillet2331 I've been in Civil Air Patrol as a cadet since i was 14. I'm still in, but i'm also a Poolee in the Marine Corps. My ship date is Dec. 5th because i have to finish High School.

  • @CAPTutorialized hey great vid,but im also im the civil air patrol, and i was wondering if you polish the intire boot or just the tip and the back thanks man

    C/Amn. McPherson

  • @armymedic98 Toe and heel for boots and the whole shoe for dress shoes.

  • @CAPTutorialized I'm in the Michigan Wing. What wing are you in?

  • Your not suppose to burn your boots.

  • @TheColombiandude I am AFROTC. It is not against regs to fireshine your boots or low-quarters, and as a STANDO myself, it's often more effective when you don't have extra time to shine. However, though it's not against regs, it IS discouraged because, if done wrong, it can damage your shoes. But with proper training, anyone can do it. :)

  • UR BOOT R NOT GOOD I HAVE MINE SO SHINY THAT U CAN SEE UR SELF AND DO THE HOLE BOOT IT LOOKS A HOLE LOT BETTER

  • @8850luke Learn how to write before you start trolling kid.

  • @CAPTutorialized Okay I'm with you on this, but it should be "learn to spell".

  • @CAPTutorialized Your a kid...

  • @CAPTutorialized Hey, I was wondering how do you take off scuff marks from dress shoes? I am in the LAPD Cadets and we need to wear dress shoes and I scuffed my shoe while doing drills I think, and I really want to know how to take it off please help! And when you say lairs you mean after you put it on the entire surface evenly put another layer right? THANKS

  • @8850luke make a vid, if you can do it better!

  • @8850luke and turn off your CAPS button.

  • @8850luke your wrong he actualy did a pretty good job.

  • @8850luke okay listen first learn to type and second he didn't go through the hole tutorial he shortened parts and also the point isn't so its a mirror shine its shiny to look better with your uniform and the WHOLE point to shining them is for water protection there no real need to get them that shiny yes it looks better but it more work and if you where smart enough to know

  • I agree with mrrich3006.....all you need id kiwi, water, and a soft shining cloth....I use an old T-shirt. NO nylon stocking for lighter! And as far as ONE finger? Try two! Works the same and covers more area quicker. I've found the key is the pressure you use when making your "swirls." Oh, and you DON'T have to make such small "swirls" either. 27 years of shining boots and shoes this way and haven't had any complaints yet!

  • @ubernoob44 don't buy the cloth from kiwi i bought mine today it was like 7 bucks for it.

  • @Freepepsi42 I wouldn't buy a shining cloth. As I mentioned in my post, all I use is an old T-shirt. Trust me, I tried all the "short cuts" when I was in the military. FOR ME, Kiwi, water and my trusty cotton T-shirt work the best!

  • @ubernoob44 how did you buff.

  • @Freepepsi42 Only time I buffed was if, at the end of the day, my boots still had a decent shine remaining, I would take a soft part of the t-shirt I used to shine the boots and buff with that; to get out small marring, scuffs, and return the shine. I did this rather than completely shine the boot again. In my experience I found there is no one and only way to shine boots. Find what works for YOU (effort- and time-wise) - use that. Oh..and practice....the more you shine, the better you'll get.

  • @ubernoob44 yeah i just spent the past 3 hours shining the boot and i did not even recive my boots yet for cadets these were my own pair but i got a shine that i could see myself in them so it brings the total amount of hours from no shine to total shine at 7 hours.

  • @ubernoob44 thanks for the tips.

  • dude if u did em right u could get those mother fuckers to shine like formals. use a little water and dont do that pantyhose bullshit eather. just kiwi and water thats it...formals dude.

  • nice job, thanks for posting.

  • can u talk more faster plz

  • parade gloss and old white hanes shirt are better! spit shine with very little water is how I score high marks during inspection when I was in the USAF.

  • What brand are those boots ?

Which brand should I buy for my C.A.P. ?

Can I get any combat boots or do they have to be any specific ones ?

  • @JuelzZantana i got i got tru-spec and they work great also a good idea is get the ones with ones that you can cheat with and that have laces but you can zip up on the sides otherwise as long as you tell the place that your buying the boots for c.a.p. as long as its a good army surplus store they should kow what to get and really as long as there black they should be good

  • @paintballobsesed Thankz I was speaking with the Capitan and she told buy cheap ones as long as the're black and r 8" tall

    Thank 4 the info ^^

  • @JuelzZantana hey man are u in the thumb of michigan at all

  • @paintballobsesed thumb of michigan ???

All I know is that i'm in the puertorican wing of C.A.P.

    xD

  • @JuelzZantana ahh im in the michigan thumb and its snowing wich kinda sucks becaus were not aloud to wear hoodies or jackets we have to layer under neath our uniforms with limites you a lot

  • @paintballobsesed Nice ! :)

  • @JuelzZantana yeah i know foot and a half of snow in some places sledding time ohh yaeh and second snow day in a row

  • he is an air man which is part of the civil air patrol if im correct. regulation shows that we need to polish our boots and iron our bdu's and blues uniforms.

  • Does JROTC or whatever reognize that the military does not even require that you polish your boots anymore? You guys should be using desert boots now.

  • mate i go to army cadets been there what 4 months and my boots are more shiny'er den dat soz but you fail

  • ok for applying the polish u must have a kiwi polishing cloth it works the best on the side that says kiwi in the corner, stockings not needed , lighter not needed u dont have to unlace ur boots if u dont want to when u are applying polish it dont matter the size of circles just use room temp watter and keep polishing no need to fire polish u can do better not fire polishing and at then end if u buff ur boots u make it worse it and dont use a lighter u just melt the polish and take the shine out

  • If you insist on using a lighter you might want to get one of those lighter guns used for lighting stoves. Better control, no burnt fingers. You might also wish to run the lighter over the top, rather than below for greater control. Since the heat of the flame rises, if you hold the boot over the flame you subject it to invisible hot gases that may give you more heat than you want.

  • use cotton swabs man... works much better!!!

  • I'm in civil air patrol :D C/A1C

  • dude u can be the best basejumper ever u dont even need a wingsuit becasue u got on on ur head lololol jjoks

  • Dave at Crystal City, VA, does a super shine in about 10 minutes! Give him a good tip.

    The guy is fabulous.

  • @LEOPARDTWO I'll be sure and stop by next time I visit the Crystal City Restaurant. ;-)

  • 2 to 3 hours wow. It took me 45 minutes to polish my boots today and theyre pretty shiny now.

  • Its called Leather Luster......10 minutes and your done for a month

  • @CossackJoey And, if you wear it for a while, it looks like a bad starch job. :P

  • what the hell?! lighters melt it and layer it on! it sucks!

  • heres a hint to this meothed........... DONT rince them off and DONT use a lighter cuz it takes the pollish off

  • wth r u thinking? u don't rinse them off!!!

  • @misskrissy1966 maybe he did off camera

  • Where are you a cadet? Your accent seems North American but your boots aren't laced in the NATO standard that are enforced in most cadet programs.

Also, lighters are horrible for getting a good shine, while they do give a nice shine, they damage the leather and greatly reduce the life of your boots/shoes.

  • Lmao how far can you fly with that set of ears? Damn them are the biggest i have ever seen.

  • Instead of using a lighter you could just stick the polish on a hot plate. basically you just need it "melty" to get in deeper. It's too easy to burn your boots with a lighter. Also if your boots have years of polish on them you can strip them with rubbing alcohol and start all over.

  • When I was in the Army I realized after a while that using a lighter after many times it actually baked the Kiwi. So instead I changed to a hair dryer at full blast.

  • you don't have time to unlace your boots at Encampment!!!!

  • What do u usually use on dessert boots? Mink oil

  • 2-3 hours? I only need 25 minutes to bull(spit shine) them.

  • Mate you should try all that with kiwi parade gloss! It is the best quality...

  • @RoyBolinggoing I always do! Except I don't use a lighter or ladies pantyhose.

  • Comment removed

  • ok,but how do you put the laces back?

  • I know something better than polish, i recommend Kiwi's Parade Gloss. Used by USAF Honor Guard all the time!

    C/MSgt Sam Rosinsky

    First Sergeant

    RMR-ID-052

  • 103 sqn air cadets!

Take a piece of cotton wool, soak in water and sqeeze out the excess water (don't want it too wet). Now wipe it in the shoe polish, you only want a LITTLE bit on your cotton wool. Polish the boot/shoe in little circles until the polish has been worked in. Repeat until the required level of shine is reached. For a new shoe/boot this will take a while as the layers are built up, do NOT use parade gloss at this stage.

  • Thanks for the vid. I am going into c.a.p in 3-4 weeks in missouri.

  • @MrUsaf177

    What Squadron??? I'm From Missouri

  • Comment removed

  • @IZCSRI 147th just got started

  • @MrUsaf177 Branson? I'm in the 143rd (Joplin) are you going to Encampment?

  • @IZCSRI fresh meat here what is that

  • @MrUsaf177 Encampment Sharpens all your CAP Need To Know Skills its like a Boot camp almost

Its to late to Sign up but you can try for next year what you could get ready for is Color Guard Comp Its a Fun experience and your squadron should do it There is a Whole manual on it

  • @IZCSRI Thanks what rank are you?

  • @MrUsaf177 Just Promoted to C/MSgt I have been in CAP for 2 years and have had a great time in those years

  • @IZCSRI nice you gonna go into the military? cause i am hopeing to go into the air force as an officer

  • @MrUsaf177 I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do

    thought about it

    But that's a good goal

  • @IZCSRI Hope i can get in though I have a heart condition but i am fine just need a wavier and i am going to need another pulmanary valuve replacement at 18 or 21

  • @MrUsaf177 That's not good hope you can get in :) Good Luck

  • @IZCSRI thanks I have a friend that is rally high up in the ranks that mabey could put in a good word for me

  • @IZCSRI Wow you guys get promoted SOOOO fast in the CAP :P In the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, we have 8 ranks and you get promoted "every year". So right now I'm a Flight Sergeant and I've been in it for 5 years and I could only guess I would be equivalent to either a CMSgt in your ranks or at the very least an officer rank. You guys do have cool ranks though :P I always get amused to how some of my cadets get a bit scared because they don't know how to sometimes address your ranks :P

  • @aceflyer89 as long as we work hard at it we Promote Fast and speaking of promotions I'm going to be a C/SMSgt soon this month

  • @IZCSRI We work hard too it's just that because we only have 8 ranks we don't promote as fast. If we had 15 (I believe it is) we would promote REALLY fast. So as a SMSgt (we don't say C/FSgt in the RCAC we just say FSgt) are you in charge of a flight or detail or what?

  • @aceflyer89 Right now I'm the Administrative NCO but we will be having a staff selection soon and I'm going to try for a different Position in the Flight like a First Sergeant or maybe Flight Sergeant (if not them then maybe I'll try to get my old job as Admin)

  • i just bought my first pair of combat boots and theyre getting pretty beat up this video helps alot because i could never quite polish them correctly

  • thank you so much mate, im new to the army cadets in the uk and wasnt sure about my boots they never looked too good. and this video really helped me and now i pleased and proud of my boots :)

    thank you

  • He's an airforce academy kid

  • No he's in civil air patrol

  • why do you call yourself C/SRA?

  • Pretty helpful tutorial

I did'nt even know they had cadets in America ( Im from England) but there you go.

I'm lazy, so a few hours before our biennial inspection, I just used 'Kiwi instant shine' and got them pretty good. I'd buy some for emergencies.

  • you have why to mutch ther kid i have polish show and does not tack 3 yours to polish

  • @plemieux73 wrong it tack 3 ours lol

  • wat were u siiting in at the end wen u were buring it

  • @CoolDeano123 its called a bed

  • 9/12 royal lancers B squadron glen parva detatchment

  • is he a sea cadet ?if he is rock on brother

  • @Hammerofwar1 hahaha nope. He is Civil Air Patrol.

  • ya they always shine up nice when they are brand new, Marines stick theirs in the oven so watch out. bakers

  • lol i like how you can hear an instructional video in the backround

  • ok someone said to me that when your all done of that use hairspray. is that true????

  • damn i can shine them way better dude n just a word of advice use 2 fingers n try to get angelus its better then kiwi

  • Haha well Im only in a military academy, but i

Apply my polish, than buff with a boot brush.

  • cotton balls brother

  • a waste of time sorry but it is, i can get the same shine within 20-30 minutes

  • Wow dude.. not trying to be an jerk but your boots look like ass. If I had shown those to my old team leader he would have thrown them down the hallway.

  • aha your vid is shite matey

  • wha.. Im polish :p

  • The audio is bad.

  • this is a good video. use it as a rough guide on how to polish you boots. BUT DO NOT burn polish your boots. i say again DO NOT burn polish!

  • this is a good video. use it as a rough guide on how to polish boots, but DO NOT burn polish.

  • man no offience but your boots suck i dont cheat abd there wayy better and im just a lancecorperal

  • Agree with u man, ive seen better shine

  • Good video! 5 stars.

  • The reason why lighters are a bad idea is because they dry out the leather, they burn your boots invisibly, and the fumes from the polish is very dangerous.

  • Yeah, I just use hot water and it seems to work fine.

  • the way I learned how to polish was to clean off boots with a cleanx, take the polish and hold, rub it around, use a rag to spread it, reclean with a cleanx, and rub slowly with a wax rag used on automobiles. my boots get a great shine from it.

  • i hated polishing boots in training ... not as much as i hated making a mirror sheen in my parade boots though...

  • i start by melting on about 4 layers of polish before i even start buffing. Then I bust out the Parade Gloss and a little bit of water to bring out the shine. This guy seemed to get good results too though.

  • HELP I CANT POLISH MY BOOTS ANY TIPS

  • would this work for steel capped boots? like, non army ones? lol, i'd like to show off infront of the other guys at work haha

  • great video, i was in marinecorps jrotc and the marine corps too, and it is very time consumeing to polish boots. great presentation

  • Very well presented tutorial.

  • Don't use a lighter, it cracks the polish and why are you polishing combat boots, thery're met to be blackend, parade boots are met to be shined.

  • @snowboarder1416 it's a way of looking sharp.

  • My boots suck!!!! And I've been in CAp for two years!!!

  • awesome, i only take like 20 mins not even to polish my boots and tha woff at my sqn loves them. i use cotton wool&water

  • same here i'm in sir cadet

  • 3 hours for that shit shine lol

  • what type of boots are those? brand name and everything....
