The two tuffest rodeo cowboys of all time are Jim Sharp and Terry Don West, it ain't a coincidence that they are also two of the all time great bull riders as well. The list of greats ya'll listed lack a few world champs that you better include in any top 10 list. Troy Dunn and Michael Gaffney. Owen Washburn when he was healthy was incredible to watch as well. My favorite bulls of all time, Locomotive Breath , SuperCool , and Promise Land before he got too damn fat. God bless em' all cowboy up
Bo was rode by 6 cowboys 2 rode him twice. He was rode 8 times out of 135 attempts. He died in 2000 while I was in Carthage Tx at a PRCA rodeo. A local grave digger burried him and Houston presented a chute he was came out of as a grave marker which stands over his grave. Jim was one of the greatest bull riders that rode. He should of won the world title but I knocked him out each time he'd draw one of my rankest bulls. Jim is a great cowboy and I'm honored to call him my friend. Sammy Andrews
Really neat to have your personal firsthand recollections on here, Sammy (or would you prefer "Mr. Andrews"?).
I like to watch bullriding, and years ago I remember one of Bo's sons that I thought looked like a real winner named "Tahonto" -- but quick as he hit the PBR he disappeared. Do you remember that young bull and know what happened to him?
@jerzeyboi75 to each is own I guess, but ty murry, is #1 on all roughstock events, he even has 7 titles to prove it, lane frost is only famous for three reasons 1: he rode red-rock 2: he could have been the first cowboy to ride all 10 3: he had a movie made after his death. Ty murry has done more things in the arena that most cowboys cant even imagine, like ride all three roughstock events and high score each of them. You dont get 7 all around championships for being loved like lane was.
@berry77425 your right ty murray is one of the best rough stock riders of all time but when you think ty murray thats all you think about is him being top all around cowboy but when you think about bull riding automatically you think of lane frost if lane didnt pass on he would of done alot better and bigger things
@pnutbutrncrackers .....well lets see one of those you listed win 8 world titles like Donnie Gay did....none will...thats why he will always be the best of all time...you didnt even list him....you either are about 15 yrs old or you really know nothing about bull riding....i think its the latter...
I swear that bull had one of the most powerful drops i've ever seen. One second i think Jim Sharp is gonna do it, the next he's gone off that sucker! Damn!

Sounds good in repeat slow-mo. If they were smart enough to understand all that tech talk, they would be smart enough not to sit on pissed off bulls. They'd be able to run pas John Deere,or a paper route, flip burgers or some other non retarded job. No Bull Riding is for young Rocket Scientists and brain surgeons. After six years of BR college I still struggled to pass the BULL BAR exam. Damn them boys are smart. HE HE HE HE HE
Outstanding critique! Thanks for posting this. I What did he mean by a "NY flip" lol? I think i'm going to try these techniques next time i'm at the Saddle Ranch Chop House on Sunset Blvd. Way to go Jim!

I think Sharp might be in my 'Top 5' bull riders of all-time. Let's see:
1) Adriano Moraes
2) Ty Murray
3) Justin McBride
4) Chris Shivers
5) Jim Sharp
How's that? (Just my opinion. Not trying to start any fights.) Tuff Hedeman is close too. Possible he should be included.
