Give her a chance, we are only basing our preferences on what we saw in Sophie Marceaux. I am sure she will be fine. She has that period look as does Jude Law. Tolstoy's book "Anna Karenina" was not a visual masterpiece but a written one, so the cast is open to interpretation.

Very good. I'm very excited; to be honest, when reading the book I did imagine Keira as Anna. Now if only McAvoy could be Levin, then that little mini scene between Anna and Levin in which he develops a temporary infatuation with her would be perfect!
She will be perfect in this role, her apparel fits much better than previous "Anna" (Sophie Marceaux). Just finished the book, and although any film can never superseed the book I just can't wait to see it...
I can not wait to see this movie! I have read the book and i really didn't like Anna there so i trust Keira's acting would make this character more tolerable for me! @nmbalthazaar I'm italian and, BELIEVE ME, Monica Bellucci would be TOTALLY WRONG. I think the only reasons she's a bit famous abroad are the fact that 1. she get naked in every movie without any problems and that's why she's chosen. Besides she doesn't talk at all, almost. She doesn't need to...yeah, big whor..ehm, actress. 2. strangers mostly can't properly catch the sound of her voice like a mothertongue speaker: she's totally EXPRESSIONLESS AND FLAT. I would chose Keira over her 100 times.

@nmbalthazaar about the other actresses you mentioned, I can't tell 'cause I've not seen enough movies with them - with Keira, instead, a lot - but for Monica Bellucci I've no doubt. I'm not the only one telling you that: she's considered one of the worst actress we have here in Italy. I think she's one of Italy's shames, from the artistic point of view.
I forgot: a part from her terrible voice, M. B. has a stone-face in terms of expression. What do you like about her, a part from her tits?!

Very good. I'm very excited; to be honest, when reading the book I did imagine Keira as Anna. Now if only McAvoy could be Levin, then that little mini scene between Anna and Levin in which he develops a temporary infatuation with her would be perfect!

She will be perfect in this role, her apparel fits much better than previous "Anna" (Sophie Marceaux). Just finished the book, and although any film can never superseed the book I just can't wait to see it...

She can`t play Anna, she`s too thin. Anna was beautiful woman,and Keira is like a skeleton. Anna was gentle and womanly and Keira is like a boy.

I can not wait to see this movie! I have read the book and i really didn't like Anna there so i trust Keira's acting would make this character more tolerable for me! There rest of the book I loved a lot tho. And i don't really like the "Anna Karenina" movie they have now, a new version is very much needed imo.
