I don't do much visual effects but have experience about two years as a digital graphics designer and I love your concepts. The cinemaphotography was great along with the music. I'll definitely keep checking back to see how you come along while you improve. Good luck :)
The camera work is amazing but your visual effects are very amateur. There is no visual interaction with the environment other then depth and a bit of destruction. Real professional effects cast shadows on faces and create extremes between the lights and the darks. Smoke isn't just smokey, it can bend and twist around everything while creating subtle shadows all around it. We need to see the actors faces react to the light and darks. Every bit is a dynamic light source.
@sulack thanks for the feedback! We'll strive to get better as we continue to make our living! Striving to grow is always a good thing. We've only been doing VFX for a year so -check back often as we grow!
@SynnStudiosCanada Sorry I am studying to be a audio designer but I spend enough time with visual effects guys. If you need good examples look at video games. A lot of games use very simplified lighting engines and are very good for learning the basics of making something that would never exist look real.

@sulack Also i meant to ask - do you have any examples of work you've done that can help us with your advice?
