Ok, I chuckled a lil, this is definitely one of the more amusing case mods I have seen, I like it! I bet with new mATX parts and modern small hardware this 'VCR" could be an amazing home theater PC.....And blend in with vintage sound equipment as well...If I had to rate this 1-5 it would be 5 all the way, good job!
@MixerVM It is done by a small motor from an optical drive (the one which drives the tray). The motor pulls the flap via a small cord to open it. The motor is controlled with a PIC18F4550 microcontroller, which also measures the temperatur and controls the display.
