Why the heck do they use duct tape to show the route? Where I climb (bouldering) the actual grip pieces are according to color.

@FuutennoSenshi so there can be more routes on one wall, we have color blind climbers and it's easier for them to tell by tape, so setters can use any hold they want, etc..

@ceilingcatdisciple The color blind thing makes sense. :-) I think that at 'our' place, they have all the holds in different colors, but I might be mistaken. And obviously, we have different routes on one wall too, just coded according to color of the grips. Perhaps it's European vs American style?

Easy trick for your brains to worth this through...When doing a "big" subtraction problem just take the second number, and see how far you are from the "bigger" number's closest easiest interval to remember (in this case 200). 179 is 21 away from 200 and obviously 6 away from 206. 21+6 = 27
