I think the next place I visit will be Ireland hopefully in the next year. My great grandfathers were Irish immigrants on both sides of my family. A lot of us have green or dark green 'Irish eyes' they say.
There is a city in Michigan called Irish Hills we go to once in a while and its called such due to Irish immigrants who settled there since it had a similar look to Ireland's hilly lakefronts. The scenery is pretty great, but Irelands sprawling outdoor areas are something I want to see.

I got a job offer in Ireland in the IT business (Cork) but everything seems so expensive compared to my country! 600 euro's rent for a decent house, dental costs are almost triple what they are here, health insurance is double what it is here and a motorcycle license seems to be twice as high. Im actually planning on going there myself, but I have to wait for at least 2 years so I can get ready with money and finish up some stuff that I have to take care of in the States.
I would like to go there and do some volunteer work with senior citizen like meals on wheels and some other stuff .

@Nodzaaaa the plantations have nothing to do with it the first invasion of the island the various irish kingdoms was by norman land holders who had suplanted king harold of England in the battle of 1066. The invasion of the Irish kingdoms was sanctioned by the pope its a fact and look up the papal bull it still exists. The normans at that point were english and not saxon but they were the land holders.
