  • Ohh man... I loved pope John Paul II, I am spiritual but I have no true love for any church activities but I may say that John Paul II had an aura of love around him. He just had that sweet old man look, someone that gave comfort...

I am truly disappointed to say that pope Bennedict does not, but not at all give me the same feeling! He kind of gives me the chills, when he looks away from the sun at the right angle and smiles... o_O Saddens me to think that of a pope but I do! He freaks me out.

  • I'm proud I am Polish like our pope Jan Paweł II. When I doubt, he is reminding me, how the faith is important. Maybe I shouldn't say something like that, but I'm not sure any pope will still be like John Paul II. I'm sad I've never seen him and I miss him so much... :(

  • I am lost like so many souls.John Paul is truly a man with a soul.Aren't we so lucky to have him in our lifetime? No disrespect to our current pope but Oh My God Thank you for John Paul the 2nd. Live on beautiful angel!

  • he is truly aman of god peace be with him.

  • I wouldn't be sure about that statement "John Paul II legend will not be repeated " their are many very prepared Priest that aren't seen and that is the problem because media is interested in which some of our Priest made a terrible decision in the life. That is our major problem and message to all men that want or are Priest if you can't handle a problem or need some conversation with someone don't be afraid to ask someone for help.

  • Wish he was still around. John Paul acutally did thing. From what I've heard Benidict just sits around looking like Darth Sidious.

  • lol

  • he even looks like darth sidious too. lol. I dont here about the pope too much, my parish priest though is a great man, you can really see the light of christ come off of him.

  • Benedict is also working. You are being unfair and hard on that man

  • nigdy nie zapomnimy

    na zawsze w naszych

    sercach rest in peace

    [*]

  • Where can I get the music from this? Yes, its full of faith. Heaven feels so near. I love JP2

  • If you like Gregorian Chant, then look for the "Chant" CDs by The Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo de Silos. The chant on this one is called "Kyrie eleison."

  • Ideał człowieka. Kocham Cię Ojcze Święty, nigdy o Tobie nie zapomnę. Nawet nie wiesz jak bardzo nam Ciebie brakuje :(. Jeszcze kiedyś się spotkamy :)

  • Little Lollek....turned into a great man and led the World away from communism.God bless you Lollek

  • John Paul The Great will never be forgotten nor his words, "Be Not Afraid."

  • This video put tears in my eyes. I missed Pope JOhn Paul, I remember when he went to Philippines and Im only 15 yrs old, thousands of youth came out from different world. Pope John Paul is the greatest man ever and his death show it. Millions of people shed tears in their eyes.

  • WE MISS U WE WILL NEVER FORGET U

  • i BELIVE IN GOD AND I LOVE THE POPE(L)

  • God bless the pope!

  • yaeh, ok, if that makes you happy...

  • yes why not say things that makes you happy, are you enjoying being sad?

  • I prefer being realistic.

  • Can anyone explain why was he a great man?

    What did he objectively do?

  • Hi minchia80. Do you think that it is possible for any person to be "great ?" Do you think that there is such a thing as "Objectivity ?" ( other than the mathematical ). If so, then I`ll give you more than one reason why this man is considered great. Starting with meeting and forgiving the man who shot him with the intention of murdering him...

  • Ok,and what about his friendship with Pinochet and Videla?

What about the sanctification of many spanish priests who coopereted with Franco?

What about his politics on birth control?

What about the scandal of Vatican involving cardinal Marcinkus, during his pontificate?

And most of all, what about his closed mind?

  • I actually appreciated some of his position, like his talk against mafia, in Agrigento in 1993.

But I really think he's a overvalued figure, maybe thanks to the media?

  • No offense to our new Pope, but I grew up with and still miss Pope John Paul II; I love how some of these pictures show his fun loving side. Don't know if this is tradition, but I always marvel how the leader of our church was buried in an unadorned simple casket; that's how humble he was

  • I know what you mean, moseschrute. But Pope Benedict XVI has some very large shoes to fill. From what I`ve seen he is of an entirely different temperament. But we can`t hold that against him. I`m sure The Church is in very good hands with him.

  • sehr gut

  • An adorable and charismatic pope, I wish I could have seen him while he lived..The world will miss you,I admire your sanctity..Pray for us all.

  • POLISH PRIDE

    R.I.P Pope John Paul II

    we miss u

  • Beautiful :)

  • Perhaps it is you, Bogzy, who is ignorant. Your refusal to put fact above fiction is truly sad.

  • spare me your feelings.

I know what I know and what I know is from the Bible and you can't say the Bible is fiction.

  • Bible is fact, your claims are fiction. By the way, your not doing a really good job in 'saving' us Catholics.

  • Hi Bogzy1989. But the Bible has to be interpreted, does it not ?

  • not by preachers or popes.

use the Bible to interpret the Bible.

if you are not sure what the Bible talks about in one point, look at other verses on the same topic.

  • But, Bogzy1989, there have been many people who have read the bible and found in it authority to commit murder. If each individul in the world is free to read the bible and make of it what he / she may, then we take a short root to chaos.

  • how can they find authority to commit murder when it says "do not kill"?

I suggest they read the entire Bible to make a overall picture of it, because the Bible completes itself.

are you saying that it's dangerous to read the Bible without a pastor or pope telling you what it means?

  • I`m saying that people read the bible and find all sorts of stuff which they can interpret in any way they wish, and often do !

  • God bless you and may He show you the truth

  • For those who might be interested and do not know yet: this music is called Gregorian music. The name was given from Gregory the Great.

  • Also referred to as 'Gregorian Chant."

I did some seminary studies, but never got past most intro-courses in theology.

  • JDL9615- what's the song thats playing? Thank you and God bless.

  • Kyrie eleison

  • To all those wh commented on my slideshow let me say thanks. Please understand that this slideshow was made to honor a man; a man of God. I accept that many do not honor him. To those people, I ask only that you find a more appropriate venue to debate than this one.

We all know that ultimately, the truth will be known and then there will be no more debate. But that will take place in another place (and I'm not talking about YouTube!) and another time.

    Peace to you all,

    JDL

  • he-will-return-and world-wonders-after-him....

  • Pope John Paul II is one of the greatest, most influential people of the 20th century. As a non-Catholic, he influence my life in a way like no other living person...especially regarding my Faith in God and his Church...I will NEVER forget Pope John Paul II...I pray he is at peace and in Glory!!!

  • God bless him!

  • I think you misunderstand "papal infallibility"

    It requires:

    1. "the Roman Pontiff"

    2. "speaks ex cathedra" (when in the discharge of his office as shepherd and teacher of all Christians, and by virtue of his supreme apostolic authority.)

    3. "he defines"

    4. "that a doctrine concerning faith or morals"

    5. "must be held by the whole Church"

The Pope has only used this once in the last 100 years (in 1950 re: Assumption of Mary) and 7 times in the 2000 yr history of the church.

  • GOOD!

    Did you study Catholic theology?

  • Not everyone who honors this man believes in papal infallibility. I don't impose my Christian views on anyone, but as Christians, we are called to spread the peace and love of Jesus Christ - quite simply "preach the gospel whenever possible and if necessary use words" - I have never read anything a pope has written, but it was Pope JPII's kindness, generosity and love that he showed that inspires me. If you want to have a war of words and theology, may I suggest trying the Jehovah's witnesses.

  • Such a kind, humble, forgiving, nice man, he is the epitomy of what a catholic is supposed to truly be (coming from a catholic myself).

  • I love Pope now and I will love for ever

  • If you dont have anything true and nice to say,it is better not to say anything at all :) At the end of our lives every word will be measured.Remember this.Dont let your tongue to condemn you.Peace.God bless you all.

  • Well said.

  • Christ died for every person in the world past, present and future,He left Himself in the word and the eucarist (communion),He could not bear to leave us on our own,,we as people have been givin free will to choose or not to choose,,other wise we would be like robots with a love Jesus button,,which would not be giving real love,.when we choose Him,it is us expessing real love, when we eat the bread of life,,we live in Him,,and Him in us,,perfect communion with our love,,Jesus

  • He cared for several people, he crushed the Berlin wall, he proclaimed peace, he helped several people who were sick and starving gathering help from other people, he was committed to God's commands until his very last breath. He is indeed a man sent from God. I hope he can become a Saint as he deserves it. I don't care what ANYONE has to say against him, because he's with God now, and only He can judge if Karol did bad or good. God bless JP2! God bless the world!

  • very good pointed :D

  • i have one question...did Bible say that all other religions are false? I want truth. (i'm not here to argue/offend...i'm here to find the truth). Please Help me. u said 'God bless the world' ...but rest of the world doesn't pray Jesus, so, he will not bless us? will he curse us?

This question is not just abt Jesus..but I ask every religion, God, priest & believer...My Quest 'Whats the logic behind concept of GOD?'

  • this is not truth then Bibel dont say others religion is false !!!i dont know where you see this but this is false what you here writs .islam ppl say too bibel is felse but say this just ppl dont Koran or Bibel .if you hav time look myself Bibel and you can this know i hope can you me understend my english is not so good .

  • dude.....I am sorry, I am unable to decipher the Leo'Da Code.

  • dude.....I am sorry, I am unable to decipher the Leo'Da Code.

  • I miss you!!!!:´(

  • Asbestos Underpants!!!!

    Get your asbestos underpants here!!

special offer 2 for £1 as worn by jpII where he`s going! ha ha ha

  • very good man

  • Wow dude, relax! I don't know what pictures YOU are talking about, but with the amount of video and pictures that you can find via the internet I have yet to see one that shows anything that even vaguely resembles anything that you just described. With all due respect, HE WAS A GREAT MAN AND HIS MEMORY WILL NOT SOON BE FORGOTTEN, and I do believe that you owe him an apology, because you will obviously never be half the human being he once was.

  • Hello Jane. It sounds sounds to me that you are a person open to looking into things. Whether it makes you laugh or rethink who JPII was and what he did, check out "Why JPII Cannot Be the Pope" in the upper right search box. If you watch the whole thing and think I should apologize, I will, on every forum I have participated in.

  • petrusprimus: You're one f****d up dude!!!

  • Woah. It's JPII come back from the dead. Anymore edifying Catholic things to say to us "Holy Father"? You are like your father, the demonic JPII who preached universal salvation to snake worshippers. Be consistent JPII worshipper, become a Hindu and anoint yourself with cow manure like JPII did. For more JPII memories see "Why JPII cannot be the pope"

  • Real good comeback... go get some attention somewhere else... I'm sorry your mama didn't give enough attention but don't try to fill the void here... Remember once you are worm food no one will make a video tribute to you... How many do you see of JPII? Plenty, huh? Well that should tell you something.

  • Yep, "If the world hates ME, It will hate you EVEN MORE". Read the Bible, you will find it in the New Testament. JPII was popular in the world because of his man-centered anti-Christ gospel. The world LOVED him because he, his heresies, and his dancing girls were of THE WORLD. He made Jews feel more Jewish, pagans feel more pagan, and Novus Ordos simply FEEL more. Yet some still escape to think and ask themselves how Catholicism could "change".

  • Yea... you're a walking saint... but according to you Jews, Muslims etc... will not go to heaven.. . if fact if they do not believe in what you believe in he/she will go to hell! Don't try to hide behind the bible.

  • You're condemning Jesus Christ and the Saints, your not condemning me. The Masonic Bible is not the same as the Catholic one. And no, worshiping a snake isn't the same as worshiping the True God. Maybe one day when you are older you will look into what JPII preached and how it blasphemed what the Catholic Faith and Jesus Christ always taught.

  • Good comeback... I'm 53 and pretty well set... When I was stationed in Gulfport, MS there had members of th KKK preaching just like your doing... I'll lite a candle for you at the next service.

  • Jane, before you make assumptions, check it out. What are you afraid you will find? Search Youtube: "Why John Paul II Cannot Be The Pope". I won't dodge your questions if you have any.

  • No kidding jane what is petrusprimus talking about. In order to support an argument you must point to supporting facts and show how they support your point. What has petru done beyond provide a few conclusory statements ("heretics are outside the church") without any factual support. For instance, why is JP2 a heretic ... silence. What heretical teachings has he engaged in ... silence. How has he taught against existing doctrine ... again silence. Dude, take a pill.

  • it was the largest funeral in world history. the streets of rome were clogged with pilgrims sleeeping in makeshift tents and sleeping bags on bare cement. nearly all of the world's leaders both religious and secular were in attendance. he along with mother teresa were the greatest human beings of our time. I have only known one Holy Father in my life and I feel supremely happy that it was him.

  • JP2 THE GREAT

I am reading the just published book of Mother Teresa's private journals (which she strictly asked to be destroyed) but YES a Saint. We also have another Saint - Mother Angelica of the EWTN network.

  • It is so touching what you've written, so strange, but completely touching. Mother Teresa was also great. It can sound weird but for me she was Beyonce of religion. Someone wrote that I am abnormal and he can write it again, but I MISS JPII SO MUCH! He was a father of the piss on the world!

  • Truly Amazing Good Man.

WE LOVE YOU JP2 THE GREAT

    R.I.P.

  • Pt 4/4) But mass murder and/or bringing suffering to millions, be it from behind a desk - or a pulpit - is totally inexcusable... in any sane philosophy of life.

Please, don't make him a hero. Don't idolize him. Try to find for yourself what he was really like... check another side of the story. Like the story of sickly remains of a family in Swaziland... then post comments here.

  • Spoken like a true atheist.

  • Thanks for that pearl of wisdom. I'm sure you've changed plenty of minds.

Maybe you should examine what "he was really like". Look at CREDIBLE sources (ie not anti-Catholic internet blogs), and read his own words.

  • Pt3/4) Now, don't get me wrong. Though I am an atheist myself, I understand most of you are Christians; some of you are Muslims, Jews, etc... And that is fine by me. I totally respect your faith, your beliefs and I hope you all are trying to choose decent things in life. And while those are slightly different in every faith, I think you can't go far off if you do your best.

  • You "respect" other's faith, but have no problem telling them that they are wrong in what they believe using baseless accusations and inflammatory language.

  • I respect the rights of Christians to worship Jesus. I'm sure my 'breach of respect' was not felt by anyone other than Christians. If by anyone at all. I am not telling anyone their beliefs are misguided, even if I disagree. Is the same true of you? Whether what I said is baseless is not for you to comment, but for everyone to find for themselves. You are an individual, not a representative of how others feel. Finally, if I offended anyone I apologize, as that was certainly not my intention.

  • Pt2/4) And we should never forget the Vatican's rat lines at the end of WWII allowing the Nazi war criminals to escape to safety. Sure, that was not the work of John Paul II - but he did make some war criminals, like archbishop Stepinac - a saint, and Waldheim - a papal knight. And he and the Catholic church repeatedly tried to potray the Holocaust as being religion independent, and not an attempt to eradicate Jews.

  • Please post some sources for when JPII "tried to portray the Holocaust as being religion independant." What do you even mean by that?

I think it is pretty clear that JPII has never attempted to justify the Holocaust and has always seen is as a great evil.

  • Pt1) I think it is horrible to celebrate a man who brought death and misery to tens of millions.Sending missionaries to AIDS torn Africa to preach about Jesus while banning the use of condoms.Denying all women the right to choose,no matter how much all involved will suffer. And while he preached the rights of the unborn, he forgot to raise his voice for those who were born, and that includes the cold genocides of 3rd World countries being exploited and left in times of need by 1st World countries

  • How can a pope "ban" condom use? I thought banning things was the job of government. If you knew anything about Africa, you'd know that any religious teaching against condom use has had a negligible effect on HIV/AIDS transmission. African cultures have not embraced reproductive technologies for many reasons.

  • Are you serious? The pope has made his position on the subject very clear. The governments, especially in less developed countries, are still much too reliant on the opinions of religious leaders, simply to manage to stay in power. Saying that the religious doctrines have a negligible effect on HIV transmission is simply deadly wrong. Christians' ideas about sex and abstinence are not natural. Humans do not work like that. 2000 years of Christianity can't change the way humans were designed to

  • work through hundreds of millions of years of evolution. Those that won't adapt will perish. That is not a philosophy; it is the way of the universe, as we found through evidence. African cultures are slowly starting to use condoms, though the availability is very limited. And that has more to do with being informed by people of science who know about condoms than with any 'cultural' taboos. Certainly there cannot be any long-lived traditions about using condoms -- they are a recent development!

  • I find it a bit odd that you think Christian ideals for sexuality aren't natural and then you start talking about condoms and say that "those that won't adapt will perish." Really the fact that Catholicism opposes condom use and sex without marriage is working with what humans have done for years, which includes a couple making a family.

  • The Catholic Church is all for sex, just within the right boundaries. You should read the Theology of the Body for more info on what the Church teaches about sex.

  • I used to be so touched and cry everytime I saw him on TV, and now I cry even more when I see images of him. Does anyone else feel like that?

  • grazie karol.

    tu lo sai! grazie

  • My hero

  • a great human...

    UnitedChristianity

  • What a fool.

  • you must be abnormal

  • If believing in God and being catholic means abnormality than I am.

  • sorry i was wrong posting the comment. I was inteding to send to LonLeb.

Of course, the Pope was Great

  • lovelly vidd

  • NÃO HAVERÁ JAMAIS UM PAPA TÃO ATUANTE E QUERIDO COMO O PAPA JOÃO PAULO II, NÃO TENHO PALAVRAS PARA DESCREVER SUA CAPACIDADE E INTELIGENCIA.........doni minucelli-Osasco -Brasil.

  • Look to the birds. Amazing what you see when you slow down and take a look.

    JP numero uno.

  • John Paul the Great is with us, with the youth, with Poland, forever.

  • I feel very, very fortunate to have lived at the same time as John Paul the Great.

  • I miss Him....And I belive that He Is with us all the time.... Im proud that Im Pole like He was...

  • Kyrie Eleison?? is that the group whos singing or what.. i dont understand lol please explain

  • Kyrie Eleison is Greek for "Lord have mercy." It is the only Greek part of the otherwise Latin Mass (though in modern Masses it is all in the language of the area). It is repeated a few times and intersperced with Christe Eleison, Chirst have mercy. The version on this video is sung in Gregorian Chant. It is most likely sung by monks. I have a version that sounds very similar to these singers and they are monks of a French monastery though I can't recall just now which one.

  • The music is simply amazing... I always find gregorian chants majestic and uplifting, yet in a quiet and relaxing way.

  • DO YOU KNOW THE NAME OF THIS CHANT

    PLEASE LET ME KNOW

we miss you john paul :(

ill see you in heaven when my time comes

    love you

  • Kyrie Eleison

  • he'll be in hell. sorry, but its true.

  • He led a holy life devoted to the gospels, only God decides who is worthy of paradise, not you. Judge not anythingnew.

  • as Catholics we were so blessed to have him lead our Church...... an humanity has benefitted from his Light

  • He was the greatest Pole, the pride of our naton, we miss Him so badly:(, I hope we will meet on the other side, also we love the new Pope like the one from Poladnd

  • The people of Poland have a right to be proud of their Pope. He brought down the Iron Curtain without firing a shot. And of course his unyielding stance in defense of human life should make every Catholic proud.

On behalf of America and the world, thank you, Poland, for sharing this great man with us!

  • i know that you're with us...

  • I LIKE THE MUSIC

  • so amazingly beautiful

  • Whenever I see this man, I feel so spiritual!
