I don't impose my Christian views on anyone, but as Christians, we are called to spread the peace and love of Jesus Christ - quite simply "preach the gospel whenever possible and if necessary use words" - I have never read anything a pope has written, but it was Pope JPII's kindness, generosity and love that he showed that inspires me. If you want to have a war of words and theology, may I suggest trying the Jehovah's witnesses.

I find it a bit odd that you think Christian ideals for sexuality aren't natural and then you start talking about condoms and say that "those that won't adapt will perish." Really the fact that Catholicism opposes condom use and sex without marriage is working with what humans have done for years, which includes a couple making a family.
The Catholic Church is all for sex, just within the right boundaries. You should read the Theology of the Body for more info on what the Church teaches about sex.

Kyrie Eleison is Greek for "Lord have mercy." It is the only Greek part of the otherwise Latin Mass (though in modern Masses it is all in the language of the area). It is repeated a few times and intersperced with Christe Eleison, Chirst have mercy. The version on this video is sung in Gregorian Chant. It is most likely sung by monks. I have a version that sounds very similar to these singers and they are monks of a French monastery though I can't recall just now which one.

Pope John Paul II is one of the greatest, most influential people of the 20th century. As a non-Catholic, he influence my life in a way like no other living person...especially regarding my Faith in God and his Church...I will NEVER forget Pope John Paul II...I pray he is at peace and in Glory!!!

I think you misunderstand "papal infallibility"
It requires:
1. "the Roman Pontiff"
2. "speaks ex cathedra" (when in the discharge of his office as shepherd and teacher of all Christians, and by virtue of his supreme apostolic authority.)
3. "he defines"
4. "that a doctrine concerning faith or morals"
5. "must be held by the whole Church"
The Pope has only used this once in the last 100 years (in 1950 re: Assumption of Mary) and 7 times in the 2000 yr history of the church.

Not everyone who honors this man believes in papal infallibility. I don't impose my Christian views on anyone, but as Christians, we are called to spread the peace and love of Jesus Christ - quite simply "preach the gospel whenever possible and if necessary use words" - I have never read anything a pope has written, but it was Pope JPII's kindness, generosity and love that he showed that inspires me. If you want to have a war of words and theology, may I suggest trying the Jehovah's witnesses.

He cared for several people, he crushed the Berlin wall, he proclaimed peace, he helped several people who were sick and starving gathering help from other people, he was committed to God's commands until his very last breath. He is indeed a man sent from God. I hope he can become a Saint as he deserves it. I don't care what ANYONE has to say against him, because he's with God now, and only He can judge if Karol did bad or good. God bless JP2! God bless the world!

Yep, "If the world hates ME, It will hate you EVEN MORE". Read the Bible, you will find it in the New Testament. JPII was popular in the world because of his man-centered anti-Christ gospel. The world LOVED him because he, his heresies, and his dancing girls were of THE WORLD. He made Jews feel more Jewish, pagans feel more pagan, and Novus Ordos simply FEEL more. Yet some still escape to think and ask themselves how Catholicism could "change".

it was the largest funeral in world history. the streets of rome were clogged with pilgrims sleeeping in makeshift tents and sleeping bags on bare cement. nearly all of the world's leaders both religious and secular were in attendance. he along with mother teresa were the greatest human beings of our time. I have only known one Holy Father in my life and I feel supremely happy that it was him.

I respect the rights of Christians to worship Jesus. I'm sure my 'breach of respect' was not felt by anyone other than Christians. If by anyone at all. I am not telling anyone their beliefs are misguided, even if I disagree. Is the same true of you? Whether what I said is baseless is not for you to comment, but for everyone to find for themselves. Pt2/4) And we should never forget the Vatican's rat lines at the end of WWII allowing the Nazi war criminals to escape to safety. Sure, that was not the work of John Paul II - but he did make some war criminals, like archbishop Stepinac - a saint, and Waldheim - a papal knight. And he and the Catholic church repeatedly tried to potray the Holocaust as being religion independent, and not an attempt to eradicate Jews.

Pt1) I think it is horrible to celebrate a man who brought death and misery to tens of millions.Sending missionaries to AIDS torn Africa to preach about Jesus while banning the use of condoms.Denying all women the right to choose,no matter how much all involved will suffer.And while he preached the rights of the unborn, he forgot to raise his voice for those who were born, and that includes the cold genocides of 3rd World countries being exploited and left in times of need by 1st World countries

How can a pope "ban" condom use? I thought banning things was the job of government. If you knew anything about Africa, you'd know that any religious teaching against condom use has had a negligible effect on HIV/AIDS transmission. African cultures have not embraced reproductive technologies for many reasons.

Are you serious? The pope has made his position on the subject very clear. The governments, especially in less developed countries, are still much too reliant on the opinions of religious leaders, simply to manage to stay in power. Saying that the religious doctrines have a negligible effect on HIV transmission is simply deadly wrong. Christians' ideas about sex and abstinence are not natural. Humans do not work like that. 2000 years of Christianity can't change the way humans were designed to

African cultures are slowly starting to use condoms, though the availability is very limited. And that has more to do with being informed by people of science who know about condoms than with any 'cultural' taboos. Certainly there cannot be any long-lived traditions about using condoms -- they are a recent development!

I find it a bit odd that you think Christian ideals for sexuality aren't natural and then you start talking about condoms and say that "those that won't adapt will perish." Really the fact that Catholicism opposes condom use and sex without marriage is working with what humans have done for years, which includes a couple making a family.

Kyrie Eleison is Greek for "Lord have mercy." It is the only Greek part of the otherwise Latin Mass (though in modern Masses it is all in the language of the area). It is repeated a few times and intersperced with Christe Eleison, Chirst have mercy. The version on this video is sung in Gregorian Chant. It is most likely sung by monks. I have a version that sounds very similar to these singers and they are monks of a French monastery though I can't recall just now which one.

The people of Poland have a right to be proud of their Pope. He brought down the Iron Curtain without firing a shot. And of course his unyielding stance in defense of human life should make every Catholic proud.
