The only situations where opening with Honor could be a good choice would be playing as aztecs or germany, especially if raging barbarians is on. Otherwise it's always Liberty. Check some deity players here on youtube. They always start with Liberty.

I personally hate playing a game as fast as I can...I like to sit back and make the game last. The diplomacy of Civilization is the best diplomacy I've experienced in any War-Strategy game so I like to play around with that. Long games make it seem more realistic...

As for your videos, they were great the first few videos but then you got VERY repetitive and started talking about random things (Which I don't mind....except you did it too much). My advice for gameplay videos, get to the game.

@nick191397 If you're on Windows XP you might have a poor video driver and you will want to lower the graphics in the options of Civ5 and try finding a free update to your video driver.

If you're on Windows Vista/7, it's most likely because of your computer being overloaded with junk. Try defragmenting, disk cleanup, and removing programs you don't need. Your video card driver may need updating as well. Lowering the graphics level can't hurt either. Hope I helped unlike this idiot below me...

I've also played Civ V since it came out, and I've been going on and off all year. I was a big fan of Civ4 and Civ3 as well.

I like it if you could just play on whatever difficulty will let you complete a game where you give us a lot of tips and ideas, instead of these million startups that arent going to be finished. I love this series, and I love the improvements, but please just play the game! Yes, TGN is great, so are samurai, etc, etc, but we all came here to see you beat deity. I get that you lost the save and all, but it would be great if you skipped all of the footage of bad starts and get to one that will lead somewhere, then just do that. The adding in different strategies is great, but those should come as a separate segment to the real point of the show. Don't take this the wrong way please!

I would've already done this myself if only I wasn't too shy to go on cam and if I was good enough to beat it at diety and if I had a super computer. so that's why I can't make a video like this, but all this teasing is really getting to me. I just hope this guy will get some free time, sit down, turn the recorder and cam on, and just play a good old game of Civ 5 and then upload for us to see a nice long session of good playing. but I got a bad feeling it's not gonna happen, a sick gut feeling

don't edit the game just until a good start going then stick to it, if you edit all the small details of everything there is no point to watch at all, you take too long between games, if you want lots of views, votes you have to make it consistent playing games every second day, sticking to it not commenting and telling people to click like to help you play more, it does not work that way, it will never happen. you have to put the work in and just keep going then people will become involved

Got my first Emperor win recently as Mongols, continents map, 4 out of 8 civs were dead at the end, won via UN voting by city states and set up the civs on the other continent against eachother (they used nukes on eachother).
