the first time i heard this, i was so angry at gerard butler's singing. and now, for some reason, i'm totally obsessed with his voice, can't stop listening to him... oops! my finger slipped right on the replay button. guess i have to listen to it again!

I wouldve chose the phantom...if gerard butler plays him only lol :)....but some people say he was obsessed with her. Ok but you cant say he didnt love her. At the end you can tell he clearly loved her cause years later after she died he put the rose with the ring on her grave. He clearly loved her just as much as the other guy. I wanted to cry when I saw that.

@majomanak I'm a great Nightwish fan, but i don't think their version can be better, organ is better than synthesizer, Emmy Rossum has a more female and soft voice than Tarja, wich is better for this song, and, then, Gerard Butler use a cleaner voice in his performance. Anyway, bass, drums and guitar can be as an orchestra!

When I went to see it live, I sat pretty far from the stage so his mask looked like real skin. I already knew the story so I understood, but if I hadn't - I probably would have thought so myself (he looked deathly pale) - especially with the Music of the Night.
