Hi, I’m Corey Bryant from Hip-HopRen.On December 6, 2011 we are going to have our site premier at 9pm. My reason for contacting you is because I feel that you have some real talent and professionalism and I would be honored if you could take the the time to make a sample based video for our demo page. All you would have to say is your name and welcome to HipHopRenaissanceTV. If You are interested our Biz phone is 3187807927.Our twitter @HipHopRen. Our email is hiphop.renaissance@yahoo.com.
Props to this kid!! Is he even kid? I have been listening to his stuff for the past hour and can't wrap my head around it.. Kid is super talented.. Did he go to school at all or just pick this shit up. Great work.. Has me beat!!
How do you figure out the BPM of a sample when you sample it? Do you just tap it out, or is there a program that you use to figure it out exactly? This has always ticked me off because I can never seem to get it spot on... I'm always off enough that I can tell, and it makes me mad. Any advice would be good. Thanks bro, keep flipping those tunes.
@point177 theres no way of really doing it, I just let a metronome tick on a bpm which I think the sample is around and then I make my adjustments until it loops perfectly. If youre noticing that your shit doesnt loop correctly you could have to mess with the timing of the sample, or just be more precise with your bpm
@Felnuts@point177 Depends what programs you're using. You can convert your samples to an Apple Loop in Logic Pro. I have some notes on how to do it if you want me to send you them.
Actually there are a few ways to do it. you can count the beat while watching the clock for 60 secs. This is most difficult way. You can tap tempo with the MPD32 itself depending on how you have your clock source set. Also You can download the "bigbluelounge" widget for mac and click the tempo in for an automatic translation. This should help you out. Good luck.
@point177 you can use software, theres a function on logic called 'tempo detect'. you can always google 'song name tempo' and you can find sites that have a library of tracks and bpm. or like del said pitch the sample up and down until it fits how you want it to, or cut the sample up place it every quarter of a bar (or wherever you want it to fit) let it run then adjust the overall tempo until your sample fits perfectly within the tempo, then add your beat to that.
@point177 when you have been making beats for a why you will get used to the tempo, i work around 80-100. most of my beats are around 95 when you get used to working at the same tempo for a while it becomes second nature and you know how to chop the beats to fit around that tempo. hope this helps.
Yo dude, I really like ur style....nice sampling!! I did share this on my Facebook so all my thousand friends can see your skills. Good luck on future you really got talent:)
By the way, where you usually find songs to sample? Sunny days from Finland!
nice beat sounds real good. Im just about to get a mpd32 but I was wondering how you pitched the vocals in logic? every time i try using flex mode or pitch shifter it sounds terrible

@point177 go to the plug ins menu and go to metering, theres a bpm counter. but you might have to use the original song to find the bpm
