Square should never have put the numbered FF games online anyway. If they were going to do it, there should have been been an offline option. The disappoint of XII and XIII isn't helping either. They're also making matters worse with how they've handled Versus XIII.

Yeahhh castlevania is one of my favorite series of all time ever since I have played the original when I was still a kid and I always thought that it didnt get the credit it deserved. Its good to see people loving this series as much as I do.
And the biggest badass is of course Death. He is fucking cool and most of the time harder to beat than dracula himself. I remember doing a Lv.1 cap hard mode run in portrait of ruin and the battle against Death was inseane.
Square Enix needs to take a similar approach that Rockstar does. There's no denying GTA is Rockstar's biggest cash-cow but they continually seem to be investing in a variety of IPs, all of which benefit from a reasonable development time and steady post-launch support (even though I'm not a fan of DLC, it ensures product life longevity since Rockstar seems to release one game a year).

lol thanks for the spoiler warning.. and for the great episode. I can't believe - literally can't believe that EA can take away ability to challenge them in court. It's a scare tactic/deterrent. Fact is if EA is guilty of outright fraud, they're asses are toast no matter what. They can try to bend the rules all they want but in the end, they can't be broken.
Also I noticed EventStatus mentioning Terms Of Service where if you don't agree with what Sony says, you don't get to play. Some gamers are so hardcore that they'll give Sony or whoever their SSN or their personal secrets just to play games online or whatever. How do you stop it? Don't buy their products? Stop buying PS3's? Will COD fanatics NOT buy COD MW3 just to teach Sony a lesson? Nah, if you want something bad enough you'll sell your soul to get it...if you like it enough.
As for people ragequitting online, I hope it catches on with other games especially fighting games. The only drawback I see with penalizing quitters is if i'm playing someone with a bad connection online. The developers MUST make sure that the online connectivity is top notch. There's nothing worse than timing your moves then going online and having it lag really bad. It can be really frustrating. And yes 95% of mainstream games suck...shoot zombies, shoot this and that...very repetitive.
Arcades are good for meeting people, but remember some of the gamers are assholes. I've met a few. Let's not forget that new games cost .50 cents to play, at least that's what it used to cost when I used to go to arcades, and that adds up if you want to get good at the game. At home I can smoke, drink, cuss, shout all I want and still pay around $3 A MONTH to play online, and that's not only fighting games. The money spent and the assholes that don't like to lose ruined arcades for me.

I opted out of the TOS, which I said people could do last week. (Even gave them the template for it) So I can still play online and keep my consumer rights to sue Sony if I wanted to. Arcades coming back and sales being down have a common reason. That reason being , games today aren't as good as the older ones. You mentioned Square, FF is a prime example of not being as good anymore. FPS games have been very over saturated in the market this gen.
I agree, I explained this in a video before. It's just all starting to add up and the companies have to stop playing it "safe" if they want bigger/more sales. Since now all companies expect COD numbers.

What youve heard about Resident Evil 4 HD is true. HD wise theres really no major improvements on the game whatsoever. The only difference is shades and textures are abit lighter and the cut scenes are more polished and dont have that grainy type look like they did on the PS2/Gamecube. Then there was also the stage where Capcom stated that RE4 & CVX were gonna cost $20 each, but then on release they were 34.90. Dissapointing because i loved RE4 and basicly if you still have it on PS2 play that 1

Piston Hurricane from Super Punch out is from Cuba, but he's also black. South American is a pretty diverse place.
Big games today might be easy to market, but they're costly to produce considering they're trying to emulate Hollywood. Developers may need to step up advertising, but they also need to learn to respect the gamers considering most advertising is done through word of mouth, like you said. As for FF it's been dead for years and it's retarded how Square is so afraid of releasing new IPs that they brand half of their stuff with the FF name just to sell. On that note, I don't know why Blacks and Hispanics are making a big deal of this, considering us Arabs are always depicted as stereotypical terrorists and badguys if not flat out bedouins living in the desert...and those games are from Western developers. Very few games games from Japan actually feature Middle Easterners and if that's the case, it's going to be women depicted as half naked belly dancer types from what I recall.

How come that such thing as "Terms of service" can tie a customer up so much in the "land of the free"? Southpark did a great episode on that topic called HUMANCENTiPAD where this behavior is explained well. I live in Germany and that kind of "Terms" would simply be illegal by definition. Man I was plying Demon's Souls as I watched this video and than I saw you put the Dark Souls trailer on (with the spoilers) so I turned it off because Demon's Souls is a great game and I don't want spoil Dark Souls for me.

Us Gamers are continuously breaking the stereotype that society has set for us and they continue to think were fat pimple faced virgins in the basements of their parents home. Yet we continue to fight on and prove the image you have us is wrong. Also as for the race thing i see more races in japanese gaming,anime and manga than in western media. Yeah they have their stereotypes but they are still and important part of the story and they contribute alot.
As for Square they had so much games during the hey day of the snes and playstation but they focus to much on the final fantasy when they have great games. Parasite eve should be bigger chrono trigger is just as know as final fantasy but really though had 7 not come along maybe they would have more games. To me vagrant story reminds me of white knight in how you can target the different parts of the body. Yet the cast that aside same with brave fencer musahi.
Castlevania should have had a anniversary collection but would would have been great would a remake of castlevania the first game with simon belmont. They had a chance with Lords of shadow but they rather have a guy that is based on simon than simon in the game. Also my memories of castlevania were of my brother playing simon's quest and lament of innocence. And when are they going to let IGA do his remake of Castlevania dracula's curse and the final battle of dracula in 1999.

yeah RE4 HD is just an upscaled version of the GC version with a bit of work on the faces. Capcom did the samething with Code Veronica X and tbh I'm not surprised they did that considering all the bs they've been pulling out for the past couple of years. A true HD remastering is the Ico and SotC which I just bought yesterday and it is absolutely beautiful.
That FF13 collection I thought was a step forward until they announced the other two had nothing to do with FF13. What I'd love to see - simple as it is, is an upscaling of FF7-9 with new sprites and voices. I never understood how Enix a manga/figurine/cd publishing company ended up paired with Square. Megaman curruption has been been in the works for a year or 2. I know because they didn't want to use my sprite ideas. but so far it seems to be the full game. i'm more for mod games. They give people that can't program games a chance to put there designs and ideas in a game. like wolfenstein and quake which have ports for the ds psp and consoles.

The thing is all these terms and conditions only seem to apply to online gamers. What about gamers who play offline and are not connected online? It's a small number of people in this day and age but it's still there.
tbh i read the bf3 post and i agree with the moderator. people are too quick to critises something that isnt even finished yet and is basically free. fair enough if when the game is released people want to complain but getting angry over a beta is stupid.
Which furthers my point what I talked about with DOTA2. People will complain more than report bugs. I think it's time testers are used more often so the public can't do these types of things. But the company has to becareful with their words. Is it stupid, yes. Do you say that? No. Because you're calling your fanbase stupid. Company should have came out and said "It's unfortunate Gamers can't see it's only a beta and not the finished product." It sounds more professional.
I read the story on giantbomb about dota and I didnt see where they mentioned that the game would be rushed out, all they said was that they wanted to release the beta as fast as they could. In fact the early release is partly down to the fan demand to want to play the game. How is this a bad thing?
If a beta is rushed, 9 times out of 10 the game itself will be rushed. But like I said, it is a beta. No matter what the fans want in this case, if you rush it and it has a lot of problems they will jump on them. (more complaints against them, than beta players reporting bugs) It's good they're getting back to the fans, but they need to take their time.

I don't really think the FF brand is that much damaged for the fact each one is a different story. I do, however, think that the online only ones should not have been added to the main series line. I also didn't like how in the FF7 movie, the characters floated (without a materia). And in the game they put the materia in the weapons but in the movie they were huge and they put them into their body @.@. Other than that, FF references in games that are not FF are getting a bit stale.
@EventStatus I also heard about the preorder content there getting and many people question why there were giving out free DLC. The same guy was quite angry over why some fans were question him of giving DLC away instead of purchase. I agree with you and him he does need to be professional regardless of a fans question or assumptions. Also I can see why he would be anrgry over people getting mad at him for giving out free DLC.

As for people ragequitting online, I hope it catches on with other games especially fighting games. The only drawback I see with penalizing quitters is if i'm playing someone with a bad connection online. The developers MUST make sure that the online connectivity is top notch. There's nothing worse than timing your moves then going online and having it lag really bad. It can be really frustrating. And yes 95% of mainstream games suck...shoot zombies, shoot this and that...very repetitive.

Arcades are good for meeting people, but remember some of the gamers are assholes. I've met a few. Let's not forget that new games cost .50 cents to play, at least that's what it used to cost when I used to go to arcades, and that adds up if you want to get good at the game. At home I can smoke, drink, cuss, shout all I want and still pay around $3 A MONTH to play online, and that's not only fighting games. The money spent and the assholes that don't like to lose ruined arcades for me.

Arcades coming back and sales being down have a common reason. That reason being , games today aren't as good as the older ones. You mentioned Square, FF is a prime example of not being as good anymore. FPS games have been very over saturated in the market this gen.

Oi,new stuff for DMC.It seems the city itself is trying to kill him and that its pulling him in and out of nightmare sequences(aka Limbo). There's another character(a girl who's the only one who can contact him in 'Limbo').Also, mobility works like a chain like Nero's and he has the ability to switch between 'Angel' and 'Devil' sides by pressing R2 or L2 much like Heavenly Sword.Just thought you'd like to know.

What youve heard about Resident Evil 4 HD is true. HD wise theres really no major improvements on the game whatsoever. The only difference is shades and textures are abit lighter and the cut scenes are more polished and dont have that grainy type look like they did on the PS2/Gamecube. Then there was also the stage where Capcom stated that RE4 & CVX were gonna cost $20 each, but then on release they were 34.90. Dissapointing because i loved RE4 and basicly if you still have it on PS2 play that 1

That article by Myblackaustin is interesting, but the guy doesn't seem like he looked hard enough. General Leo from FF6, Bear Walken from Gungrave, Casca from Berserk, Sherry from Gungrave Overdose and numerous fighting game. As for Hispanic characters, that word has a VERY broad definition and games have several Hispanic characters, they just don't fit the U.S stereotype. Piston Hurricane from Super Punch out is from Cuba, but he's also black. South American is a pretty diverse place.

Big games today might be easy to market, but they're costly to produce considering they're trying to emulate Hollywood. Developers may need to step up advertising, but they also need to learn to respect the gamers considering most advertising is done through word of mouth, like you said. As for FF it's been dead for years and it's retarded how Square is so afraid of releasing new IPs that they brand half of their stuff with the FF name just to sell. How come that such thing as "Terms of service" can tie a customer up so much in the "land of the free"? Southpark did a great episode on that topic called HUMANCENTiPAD where this behavior is explained well. I live in Germany and that kind of "Terms" would simply be illegal by definition. The contract is obsolete the moment you sign it. So instead of dealing with one company after another, why not step up and change the law once and for good? Man I was plying Demon's Souls as I watched this video and than I saw you put the Dark Souls trailer on (with the spoilers) so I turned it off because Demon's Souls is a great game and I don't want spoil Dark Souls for me.

yeah RE4 HD is just an upscaled version of the GC version with a bit of work on the faces. Capcom did the samething with Code Veronica X and tbh I'm not surprised they did that considering all the bs they've been pulling out for the past couple of years. A true HD remastering is the Ico and SotC which I just bought yesterday and it is absolutely beautiful.

tbh i read the bf3 post and i agree with the moderator. people are too quick to critises something that isnt even finished yet and is basically free. fair enough if when the game is released people want to complain but getting angry over a beta is stupid.

Which furthers my point what I talked about with DOTA2. People will complain more than report bugs. I think it's time testers are used more often so the public can't do these types of things. But the company has to becareful with their words. Is it stupid, yes. Do you say that? No. Because you're calling your fanbase stupid. Company should have came out and said "It's unfortunate Gamers can't see it's only a beta and not the finished product." It sounds more professional.

I read the story on giantbomb about dota and I didnt see where they mentioned that the game would be rushed out, all they said was that they wanted to release the beta as fast as they could. In fact the early release is partly down to the fan demand to want to play the game. How is this a bad thing?

If a beta is rushed, 9 times out of 10 the game itself will be rushed. But like I said, it is a beta. No matter what the fans want in this case, if you rush it and it has a lot of problems they will jump on them. (more complaints against them, than beta players reporting bugs) It's good they're getting back to the fans, but they need to take their time.

I don't really think the FF brand is that much damaged for the fact each one is a different story. I do, however, think that the online only ones should not have been added to the main series line. I also didn't like how in the FF7 movie, the characters floated (without a materia). And in the game they put the materia in the weapons but in the movie they were huge and they put them into their body @.@. Other than that, FF references in games that are not FF are getting a bit stale.

@EventStatus I also heard about the preorder content there getting and many people question why there were giving out free DLC. The same guy was quite angry over why some fans were question him of giving DLC away instead of purchase. I agree with you and him he does need to be professional regardless of a fans question or assumptions. Also I can see why he would be anrgry over people getting mad at him for giving out free DLC.
