for people saying "it ruins it for people who havent seen it" i dont see how it does, there like what 5-10 second clips, not in order and there is nothing what could spoil ther storyline
@filmsfanatic1 It shows the death of every major character who bites the bullet, so I would say complaining might be understandable under different circumstances. However all of the tribute videos I had seen included spoilers, if people want to go in fresh into the movie then they should see it before watching tribute videos. In addition I added a spoiler tag when asked to, and not long after, an annotation, and still I get one moron who 'dislikes' it for 'ruining the movie'.
@erowid69 By the way, I think I should point out to you, you fucking pussy, the GIANT goddamn SPOILER bar at the beginning of the fucking video. What else am I supposed to do to warn you!? Learn to read dumbass.
''when i was your age they would say you could become cops or crinimals, what im saying to you is this when your facing a loaded gun, whats the difference'' damn i love that line
@futurestoryteller the whole song is amazing........but i just love that intro where that cool instrument is playing and he is goign oooooooooooooo......
Puttin my favorite song with one of my favorite movies ever= awesome!!!! favorite quote is the beginning monolog with costello, "twenty years after a irishman couldn't get a fucking job we had the presidency. may he rest in peace."
i heard mark wahlberg won an oscar for his supporting actor role in this......i dont get how he pulled that off since he's in about 15% of the entire movie. the academy is weird........like how could you not even nominate Chris Nolan???...and mark gets an oscar for this....dont get me wrong Wahlberg is the freakin MAN but he was barely in this...
@DeEpSoUtH17 Sometimes they acknowledge you for the intensely focused brief work you do. And sometimes they ignore your greater work because it's not your greatest work, it's different, or they think it may be over exaggerated. Or getting more attention than lesser known films of equal or greater importance at the time. Ultimately it doesn't matter, because he deserved it. Not that he did get it, because he didn't, but he was nominated.
@GibsonX One his best?? It's a good half-movie, but I think Scorsese himself wouldn't tell you it's one of his best. C'mon, man. The ending did it for me. It looks like he runs out of ideas so he kills everyone off. The first half is good, though.
@Jacone10 First of all most of those people died in the original movie. Secondly, Matt Damon's character was such a bastard that allowing him to live (the only one that did in the original) would have been an injustice. Scorsese (a Christian) couldn't let that slide. He's all about good and evil, he always says so. Killing him is like restoring the balance. Besides, did Tarantino run out of ideas on Reservoir Dogs?
@futurestoryteller Good point. When I wrote the comment I completely forgot that this was a remake nor have I seen the original, hah, oops. Scorsese does have a common theme in most of his movies, like you hinted - sin and redemption. . . Honestly I couldn't see Res. Dogs ending in any other way, but I like your point.
You should really watch them, it's an incredible series. I like the Departed more than the first one, but I like the second one more than both and as much as Godfather II, (from which it 'borrows' several plot elements), I'm also convinced that Chris Nolan's The Dark Knight, made reference to the second movie in the IA series while borrowing the same plot elements.
@Jacone10 I should point out that in the original movie the 'Damon' character's turning point comes when he decides he'd like to do good. So basically the same stuff happens but the motives are waaaay different. As a result letting him live gives him a chance at redemption. The 'Leo' character was already good, so he could die with honor, 'Damon' had to progress into a good man. A potential Message that they ruined/scrapped in the 3rd installment.
Costello was the biggest cocksucker ever.I laughed at his death scene, although I wish he would've died a slower more painful demise.
