I've never owned a GoldWing in my life but am now looking for either a 1200 or a 1500.
I must have looked at 6 or 7. One buyers guide tells you to put it on centre stand to check wheel off ground I have never had any problem with this but then again i am also 6 foot 3
and do a physical job, also i would love to see where this magicians assistant is hiding!!!!
What's the year & weight of your GoldWing ?? My 1984 GoldWing Aspencade GL1200 weight is 723 lbs (Dry Weight) Then when all the fluids are added with a full tank of fuel, 5.8 US Gal. It must weigh close to 780 ad or take a few. I have NO problem getting it up on the center stand.
Please Guys, if your going to teach people,do it right.Put your LEFT foot on the stand, transfer your weight to the stand. This way your not off balance and risk dropping the bike. Robbie
I forgot to mention, you pull up in the seat grab rail while pushing down on the stand, the stand acts as a lever and the bike just rolls gently onto the stand feet.
The stand feet MUST BOTH be ont the ground or it wont work.
You guys must be total weaklings then. Ive had all the Wings over the past 29 years. They are ALL EASY to get onto the centre stand... as long as you are doing it right. If you use the wring technique... it is IMPOSSIBLE.
A lot of people make the same mistake you guys obviously are making... you are putting your foot on the stand and then trying to LIFT the bike up... WRONG WAY!
This guy demonstrates how to do it properly and theres another guy on Youtube doing it and he's only got ONE HAND!

Don't get me wrong... I love my Goldwing, its the best bike I have ever had. I just wish that they had come up with a REAL way for a the owner to get it up on the center stand. I will never discourage anyone from buying one, but don't listen to this guy's bullshit. There is no way he did that without an assistant.
This is a crock of bullshit. There is no way one person can get a Goldwing on the center stand without an assistant. I have a Goldwing and have NEVER been able to do it by myself.
It pisses me off that Honda puts all these gadgets and gizmos on the Goldwitng, yet fails to provide a way that the owner can get it up on the center stand. It pisses me off even more when people like this bike salesman try to make you believe that it is this easy. It is not. It is impossible without an assistant.
Alright..... I did it !!!!!!! Now, can you also show us how to take it off the stand ? :)
