  • Never gets old

  • I was here for Guitar Lessons. I still give this a thumbs up.

  • Any tabs for this ?

  • his guitar pickups are raised up a lot nearly touching the strings are these dimarzio hs2 pickups or are they fender pickups because he does sound similar to steve vai

  • 1.34 what chord is??

  • @RamsesXD100 It is not really a chord, but the intervals are 1-3-4-7 in the key of A.

  • What sort of weird socks and boots is Eric wearing (weird tit)

  • johntheguitarman - Yes, the setup he has here is the icing on the cake but he always sounds like EJ. Check out the Fender GDec demo he did....sounds just the same - like God singing through the strings :)

  • johntheguitarman - Yes, the setup he has here is the icing on the cake but he always sounds like EJ. Check out the Fender GDec demo he did....sounds just the same....

  • ehm Your little princess is here to please you

  • Damn... I could watch this all day. the guitar is such a beautiful instrument...

  • so Share ur dreams and thoughts with me

  • oops sorry he doesnt play the 7th so its just a sus4 a chord

  • A11 (1,1,3,4,7)

  • Can anyone name the chord @ 1:33???

  • Sublime

  • Can you imagine the looks he gets when he tries out guitars at a guitar shop.

  • Anybody got a cover of this or tabs?

  • The Master Mullet

  • I wish someone would tab out this entire lesson.. Would be godlike ^^

  • Does he to a tour of his rig? Anyone got that video?

  • @MrDarinWarren yes he does its on youtube. type in Eric Johnson studio interview effects pt.1

  • @aqilwilliamsa Well, that is a rather recent review, isn't it. I think you're thinking about the post Bloom interviews, right. A lot of water under the bridge since this particular sequence was shot. E.g. the Dumble SSS is history.

  • his playing always reminds me of deep space and blue and purple planets.

  • "Hi my name is...." you cut it off before he could say 'God'.

  • @Aahlookoutbehindyou Nah he was about to say "Chuck Norris" dude

  • This clip puts this guy in a class by himself...incredible

  • I didnt even know those chords existed.

  • "Hi, my name is" - He even influenced Eminem...

  • the lesson begins at the end of the video, where is the paypal link to see the rest ?

  • his sound is amazing.

  • this is amazing! where can i get a guitar pro tab for it?

  • @tempestroeconnor learn it by ear mate.

  • The lesson is that you must have a stratocaster, an awesome amp and a gift sent from god

  • 1:34 fuck you

  • I was just over 20 years of age when I first saw this. Eric still inspires me and he probably will till I die. I'm 39 now. I've realised I will never come close to Eric's tone or skill even if I did another 20 yeard of playing. I'd be dead by then. I'm really shocked that 116 people who didn't like this must be tone deaf or talentless.

  • this is just a solo of Eric Johnson, not a lesson. Re-write the title AdamTomaszewskiPL

  • EJ: and this is why im better then you at life.

    Me: OMG I LOVE YOU!

  • okay, i love EJ but not much of a lesson here

  • "Guitar Lessons " so... Where is the lesson?

  • Yes, he "understands" the guitar, but what gets me about this dude is his tone. That overdrive tone is like from no where else but him. I can't even remember hearing anyone who get close to that tone. I hear he wires his guitars differently and his Marshalls are tricked out. But, then, I saw him in another video and he was sitting there with a Princeton and he had the same tone. I think, mainly, its his attack.

  • @johntheguitarman1 i think it will always be a mystery.

  • his finger always look like they know where they wanna be

  • awesome picking

  • hendrix at 1:08

  • what is this dvd or video called?

  • That lick at 1:38. Pure Eric Johnson. It sounds a bit wrong but at the same time he make it sound great it's become instantly recognisable as something he would create.

  • keep hitting F5

  • He has understood "equation" !

  • there is a HUGE difference with someone that can "play" guitar and someone that "knows" and "understands" the guitar. and eric definitely understands the guitar

  • eric rips but the ultimate has gotta be, lane/holdsworth technique guthrie govan note choice and zappa tone

  • fuckin' wizard!

  • I don't consider him a "shredder" in today's sense of the word because this dude completely knows his instrument and for his tone.....well...what can u say other than just great.

  • why its called lesson ?:D

  • fuck, i would kill for this tone

  • wow one of my guitar idol...

  • musical treasure ....

  • @joutoj That better be a joke...

  • This reminds me of Michael Hedges,

  • Eric Johnson is a believer. The thing is, he doesn't know HE actually is God.

  • good lesson

  • His tone is amazing.... aside from all the melody and phrasing and lyricism in his playing... notice how when he 'shreds' it just sounds so much better than other guys?

It just 'bubbles' some how - I can't describe it... it's so smooth and articulated even when he's shredding.

  • Where's the lesson? Is he teaching us that the rest of us suck? :)

  • Great player. Gayest tone ever.

  • @MaxwellsAttourney Eric Johnson can't be a good player, and have "gay" tone. Your style of playing IS your tone, they are inseparable.

  • @RoyalBlue43 I couldn't disagree more. It would still be Eric Johnson playing if he played through a line 6 guitar rigged up to a line 6 amp (aka, no tone whatsoever). It would be a great player playing a guitar with terrible tone. They are very much separated.

  • @MaxwellsAttourney I didn't know Line 6 made guitars. They must sound like poop.

  • @RoyalBlue43 the line 6 guitars actually sound somewhat decent if you know what you're doing. not great, but decent.

  • Seen this well over 100x and never gets old.

  • @w416 yeah man, same here

  • @w416 me too

  • @koza821 by practicing

  • So Amazing, Love This!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How in the name of christ could anyone give this a thumbs down? Pecker heads....

  • I can play this but don't want to right now

  • anybody know if this is an actual song from an album, or is he just dicking around? cuz having a recording of this to access at any time would be nice

  • very impressive ! He is one of the great guitarist from US...he is so amazing...

  • 113 motherfuckers likes reggaeton and bieber

  • NEW basic lead technique lesson on our site. More to follow. Blues box lesson based on ZZ Top shuffle.

  • nobody can make the guitar sing like EJ ,simply the sweetest tone ,what an inspiration

  • i learn a lot with this lessons

  • The master at work. Maybe it's just me, but EJ's lead tone on this one sounds a lot hotter with more gain than some of the samples I have heard lately. Totally love it.

  • One of the best guitarists ever !! if you like real music you may like our song too..Please comment.. Peace

  • Uncomparable guitar tone!!!!! sooooo smooth and connected sounding!

  • i agree hes alot better than most heavy metal guitar plays and im a heavy metal fan bt ive just stared to play this kinda music and its must more fun and realaxing to play when u play it u can just feel it wiv metal u just pay to show of

  • @Je5sTheMudget Seriously, congratulations on your change in taste. Some music is about the actual music, and other "music" is about the people. Eric Johnson makes music. Rappers - superficial wannabes. To elaborate (on the rappers), with rap (you can't spell crap without rap) it's all about the stupid lyrics about drugs, sex, money, guns, murder, how the "government" is keeping you down. It's about your car, or your shoes or clothes or whatever doesn't make you who you are.Very materialistic cRAP

  • @screechkid116 I couldn'tagree more!!!

  • @stratcatstrut Thanks. I would've elaborated more if it wasn't for youtube's comment character limits. (hmm, censorship method?)

  • @screechkid116 it's not censorship. it's so the the whole section doesn't get filled up by some douche ranting about their view on abortion.

  • People Complain About Eric Johnson Not Sounding Heavy Enough!!! Eric Johnson Is Better Than Most Heavy Metal Guitarists By A Long Shot!!!

Metal Guitarists: Power Chords, Low E String Galloping And Fast Solos!!!

Eric Johnson: Plays Skillfully And Smooth With Alot Soul And Talent!!!

  • @DylanBStringer91 I overall agree with what your saying, but you cant just outrule all metal players. take marty friedman, he plays metal and hes one of my favorite guitarists. Check out his vid "King Of Ballad" thatll change your mind about metal =]

  • the dislikes surely have a superior guitar performance to show us all.. or they can show us how easy it is... ;)

  • @w416 is it ok if i don't hold my breath on that?

  • this is not really all that good... all flash : (

  • @planck23 it is of course, the intro to a hot licks video after all. they are all a 2 minute segment of (Paul Gilbert, Marty Friedman, Greg Howe, Vinnie Moore... etc) ripping through some licks and scales that they show you later on in the video.

  • a lesson but as soon as he starts talking, he get's cut off?

  • 2000th like, love his tone

  • how come every chord he plays, it sounds beautiful !

  • Session guitarist Eric Blaszczak...if you are a fan of EJ's he would definitely be worthy of a listen.Amazing player and has Ej's tone almost perfectly.I saw EB play with a tubescreamer and a fuzzface.Sounded like ej but smoother.now he's got a bias tube driver and the tone is rediculously nailed.

  • @SarahE34 So glad you mentioned EB.Probably the only player Ive heard that GETS IT on the EJ thing.I googled Eric Blaszczak and found a bunch of great stuff. His Cliffs of dover is the best live version on Youtube.TONE TONE TONE.Incredibly clean improvs.People dont realize how hard Cliffs is to pull off live with success. It takes a very talented person to do it with the right feel.Eric Blaszczak Improvs it and still pulls it off...WHAT????:)thanks for turning us on to him.Im a fan of both EJ+EB

  • Very cool!!!

  • is there any guitar tabs for this piece??

  • The "dumb bald "mot^%$#%$eer will be gone gone you dum f$%#k!!!

  • um this is not a lesson very disappointing!

  • @baBristow it's actually just the intro to the lesson video (that I actually own). Paid $60 for the VHS, uh... a few years ago...lol.

  • @baBristow told ya.lol

  • what the fuck!!

i wana hear what he was gona say

  • He's so good, it makes me want to grow a mullet.

  • You never get to find out his name :P

  • Old video, but still working, just eric johson know how to do that.

  • 111 people saw this and non of them had a guitar.

  • Only 111 Idiot savants watched this out of 1.3M, not bad.

  • i was watching this and my dad came in and said it "needed words".... dumb bald motherfucker

  • @worldindusa you say to your own dad motherfucker? whats wrong with you

  • @Noodleztherabbit haha thanks, yours is the first nice comment ive gotten about that.... people have been sending me private messages "how can you call your own father a motherfucker"... duuuh where do you think i came from!? sheesh

  • @worldindusa if he wasnt you would not be here

  • @jpsspark i know.....

  • @worldindusa Oh come on bud, don't be so hard on your dad. I'm a dad and we're not perfect you know. lol You could always educate him and get him up to speed on Eric. Give em a chance. You never know what he may learn and what you may also learn from the experience. A word of advice. Some day God willing, you will get older and find yourself out of the loop and you hope that someone will be patient with you and catch you up. It happens to us all. Peace. : )

  • @MusicEd1 i think this is the best comment on youtube :)

  • @worldindusa Your dad posted 116 times!

  • @worldindusa lol

  • @worldindusa what a bald asshole

  • @worldindusa hehe, you tell him!

  • @worldindusa how come your comment has 126 thumbs up and isnt on the highest rated comment page?

  • he makes that strat sounds like a stradivarius. over a million people cannot be wrong

  • @Mockingbird5150 your comment makes little sense

  • Awesome tone \m/

  • this really is a lesson..... a lesson on how to be jealous!

  • mmm that is boring...¬¬

  • @Hermeregildo100 it's ok....there are plenty of Videos of other guitarist playing really fast you can like...this sort of style is a bit beyond you.

  • @Hermeregildo100 mmmm you're a moron.

  • Well, I didn't hit the dislike. I really don't care for his style of music but I have to say he's amazingly talanted.

  • huh...111 pianists are really pissed off lol

  • lol nice haircut and outfit. looks like Suzy Quattro. look her up

  • yea the very first 30 seconds are some of the best chord proggressions ive ever heard

  • 00.00 to 2.10 was the best part

  • There are a lot of incredible pickers out there and this guy is a virtuoso to be sure. It takes serious talent to navigate that world. Hat's off to him.

  • Eric Johnson is jsut so amazing! His tone is miraculous, his music blows me away, his sense of musicianship is pristine. I give every single one of his videos 5/5 and every song is worth listening too. Keep rockin' dude!

  • Nancy Kerrigan, are you an official here? Cause, you officially give me a boner!

  • anyone who doesn't like eric johnson...but likes guitar...mystifies me...he's one of the masters kiddies...if you don't like this I'm guessing you have tattoos and piercings and only listen to metal....

  • thow he does the chord on 1:33 ----> Exploded my head xD

  • this is not a lesson this is how to demoralize a poor newbie D:

  • actually the ones who pushed the "don't like" button are all probably rappers and hip-hop ppl, so it's ok... nature has a weird kind of humor.

  • @killia999 OR maybe they all pushed the wrong button :))

  • @killia999 Forgot the people who disliked it cause this isn't a lesson...

  • @killia999 ur wrong people who disliked this are frustrated guitarists that cant ever play like this...

  • @killia999 u dont anything about hip hop, niether do those 16 other people.

  • @killia999 Yeah!!! The humor is called degenerative evolution!!!!

  • @killia999 i like hip-hop and many kinds of music so i guess nature is wierd :s

  • i love using gain in my own songs...

  • I always think of EJ when I think about guitars...

  • @TheLordHodne Yeah your thinking of elton john when you play guitar.

  • @Torevian
