I live in Wisconsin USA and currently riding a 2010 B5 . It has no problems whatsoever. The EFI is flawless and no sign of rust.Tell your "friend" that he really needs to research his commentary.
@pjionaqevbqew Good to hear. From everything I've read about the current Royal Enfield company, they're very serious about building reliable, quality motorcycles.
I just put a down payment on a new Deluxe EFI. A buddy of mine is selling his 2008 which has a carborator. He said the new engines have kinks and are creating problems and that the new bike feel like scooters. He said they rust like there's no tomorrow. Have you looked into the new Enfields? I hate to sound like a badguy and dampen the great comments coming in. Btw, your vids rock!
@JeraldRJ1 Thanks! I haven't heard any real-world stories about success or problems with the 2010 and newer Royal Enfield motorcycles. I hope people are having good luck with them. I like my old Classic. It's a really fun reminder of how things used to be. Also, it's not my primary motorcycle, so if it isn't running or if I need to ride 100 miles on the freeway, I just ride a different motorcycle.
@6slgmorris Thanks! I've made a few other Enfield videos as well. In one of them I replace the clutch plates, which you may need to do someday. It's a great little bike, and it will take care of you if you take care of it.
@vaazstorm You're welcome. Adjusting the primary chain on a Royal Enfield is pretty easy. I am in the process of replacing the chain and clutch. I'll post a video of it when I'm done.
Hi, I never expected a reply from you, how are you? I own a 1969 Royal Enfield 350cc in India, technically its a vintage ride. I hope to see more DIY videos from you, more indepth videos may be.
@asasinationsinc My Enfield has an Amal 930 carburetor on it, so I can't do a video on the stock MiKcarb. The bike is running a little rough, so when I get around to adjusting the Amal, I'll make a video.
@deepakstrong Thanks. I hope it helps. I know there are a lot of people who ride Royal Enfield Bullets and never check the fluid or adjust the chain. I hope they watch this and see how easy it is.
Here's a time saver: Put the bike in high gear and rotate the rear wheel to turn the engine to check the chain or position the engine for other tasks. Either remove the spark plug or use the compression release. I use type A tranny fluid.

BTW, thanks for the tutorial. I haven't had to adjust my primary chain yet. My Bullet's only ten years old...:)

@gordonemoore Great tip! Thanks. I've heard that Royal Enfield Primary Chains don't need adjusting very often. Thanks for confirming that.

@hoohoohoblin I think it's true that they don't need adjusting very often, but I was pullin' yer chain. My bike's only got 1300 miles on it.
