WWE gave Flair the GREATEST send-off when he decided to "retire" but b/c Ric Flair has to live the life of the character he's created-The Nature Boy he's dug himself into a hole better known a debt! Ergo he has to keep wrestling or be in a company that will pay him since he can't get out of that hole! At 1st it's like-That's sad (which it is) but then it is like way a sec. he learned how to manage money in school-So he screwed himself into that hole! The guy needs help on how to manage money!!!
I remember Flair wrestling Chris Taylor way back in 1974 when he was a fatty lol!!! To realize hes still wrestling all be it on a part time basis....is incredible. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HATED FLAIR WHEN I WAS A KID BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS ALL REAL THEN!!!!! NOW THAT IM OLDER AND KNOW ITS ACTING IM A HUGE FLAIR FAN!!!!! Nature Boy can do whatever he wants and i'll still be a fan other than the calling himself GOD crap, that offends me.
Anybody who doesn't like Flair doesn't know anything about the entertainment side of this and I bet any of the haters still don't change the channel when Slick Ric is on mic because you know it is gonna be entertaining tonight. I think the hate comes because their old lady's left after riding space mountain.
@7366mikeytot You think if Flair was more financially secure, he would not be wanting to wrestle at this point? I stress the term "want", because Bret Hart did a few matches recently even though he's financially secure? To go from that epic sendoff at WWE to TNA has to gnaw at Flair to some degree.
@7366mikeytot Everbody needs money. What's your point? If you think Flair was never interested in helping the company grow, then you're an idiot. Every performer in the wrestling industry wants to see TNA grow & prosper. Growth means more money & opportunity for everybody. Flair himself can only do so much. He's just talent. He doesn't make the booking/creative/business decisions. What's wrong w/ TNA is that they have no direction, no longterm plan for success. (TBC)
They hire these veterans & make them the stars instead of using them to push the young, homegrown talent. Flair was/can still be an asset when used correctly. His work as Fortune's manager was brilliant. He drew attention to those guys, made them look like megastars. And what did the IIC of TNA do? They had him turn on them, side w/ Immortal & rendered him useless. Immortal already had Hogan & Bischoff as mouthpieces. Why would they need Flair? Flair must be frustrated by the lack of direction.
When I found out Ric Flair went to TNA I completely lost all respect for him, sure the PG era is pretty stupid but you don't retire from WWE just to go strait to TNA. He was a 16 time world champion ffs! im sure every wwe fan is disapointed in him. Especially after that great match with shawn michaels, what a great way to leave from a match with a true legend
@XplicitGames Well Flair was waiting fro WWE to present him with another deal but after 6 months and still no word he took TNA up on an offer. Besides, it's not like he shouldn't be able to go to TNA if he wants to, it's his life.
@UTUBEAJ24682 I get your point but him and hogan went strait to TNA and they're in the hall of fame. I garuntee Angle, Hardy, The Dudleys, RVD will never be in WWE hall of fame just because they had went to TNA
@XplicitGames Ric Flair didn't go "straight to TNA." It took him almost 2 yrs to get there & it wasn't an easy decision for him to make. I'm a WWE fan. I also happen to be a Flair fan & I'm not disappointed. You see, I understand that in the real world (the world that isn't scripted like a wrestling storyline) there's these things called bills. You know... mortgage/rent, utilities, car notes, maybe some credit cards, and in some cases alimony. Then again, you're only 21. So what do you know?
@NaughtybyNaitcha And there's call, using your name to create bisness opportunities OUTSIDE of the wrestling world. (The Rock is a example of that) All Flair does is ruining is legacy.
@jungle10ful The Rock is the ONLY example you can think of. I'll give him his due. He earned what has, but he came along 20 yrs after Flair. The Rock's prime was during the Attitude Era when wrestling was at its peak in popularity. There were more opportunities available to him. Flair hit his prime before guaranteed contracts & he didn't make nearly as much as those who came later did. He worked 300+ days/yr. He trusted his wives, so-called friends/business partners & got burned. Need I go on?
THE ONLY REASON HE DOESNT WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH WWE ANYMORE IS BECAUSE THAT FUCKIN IDIOT OF AN OWNER, MR MCCMANN HAS RUINED WWE WITH PG..SERIOUSLY PG...WTF
This was probably the only time I ever truly marked out for wrestling. This moment was instantly a classic. TNA had the better show that night and every person here knows it.
Also, WWE is about as bad as TNA right now. Sure, their story lines are more understandable but damn are their talent lacking. TNA has far better talent and usually better matches, and in wrestling the matches count the most. So I watch TNA over WWE regularly.
@luisalexander70 Who cares about ratings. He elevates the class of any room, hall, building, church, or any other space he allows his auroa to eminate within.
Flair worked 26 years for Vince's southern-based competition, won 14 of his World titles in those companies, and was World Champion for 3,587 days in those companies.
He worked for WWF/E for 9 years (only 2 as a main eventer), won 2 of his World titles there, and was World Champion for 118 days there.
It's great that WWE honored Flair, but he shouldn't feel obligated to end his career there. That's not his home. Also BOTH companies are absolutely awful right now, quit cutting the E slack.
kinda throws dirt mixed with shit on top of the greatest retiring salute ever given in professional wrestling like the farewell they did to flair on wwf.
Undertaker > Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair Triple H > Kurt Angle John Cena > Sting Randy Ortan > Rob Van Dam Big Show > Samoa Joe Kane > Mick Foley CM Punk > Mr. Anderson The Miz > AJ Styles Christian > Matt Hardy The Great Khali > Taz Rey Mysterio > Jeff Hardy Trish Stratus > Melina Michelle > Madison Rayne Dwayne 'THE ROCK' Johnson > Jeff Garrett which means, WWE > TNA!!!!
TNA.. so desperate. =)) they can't produce their own talent and make them a superstar.. they need to get from WWE. now, where's the originality in that? =))
whats with TNA and Hiring has-beens? yes i'm calling Ric Flair a fucking has-been, he should have retired for real at wrestlemania, heck 10 years before that, when was the last time tna actually looked for new talents?
TNA is so much better than WWE today ratings be damned. Ric Flair knows a good thing when he sees one, and he knows a big pay check and easier work load when he see it.
I don't get why people bash Ric Flair for coming to TNA. He's helping to make AJ Styles, Beer Money and Kazarian into starts, it's not like he's trying to steal the spotlight and be a champ 1 more time, he's just helping younger talent which in my opinion is great, they're learning from the best. So Ric Flair in TNA is a good thing
@w31rdguy07i Because, he's in TNA. The people who bash the company are not fans of the business-they're fans of WWE. They used to trash WCW for signing, or 'stealing,' talent away from WWF/E, too. Of course, when WWE signed a WCW guy such as Giant/Big Show or Chris Jericho, they weren't 'stealing' them, they were just signing a great talent. A talent they'd have trashed relentlessly had they not left WCW. WWE needs competition, but WWE marks fear this and relentlessly undermine any opposition
Ric Flair 1. Needs the money, 2. His role in TNA is actually pretty decent for him, hes playing the whole mentor role with AJ Styles, 3. Everyone is right, he just cant let go, but on the contrary, his family has given up on him, he cant keep a marriage together, and supposedly he is always in character. When it comes down to it, hes ruined his personal life so he might as well do what he loves until he dies because I hate to say it but there really is nothing else for the guy.
@thecalvinkid How the fuck is he a sellout you little imbecile? Because he's taking a ridiculously small amount of money (for the naitch's standards) to help out a small company? Go ride John Cena's dick. That goes for the rest of you little kids who praise wwe like it's the epitomy of wrestling. WWE monopolized wrestling and you're gonna sit here and disrespect someone who if it wasn't for him you wouldn't be watching your shitty john cena movies. Please, go fuck yourself.
i dont need to really further my statement anymore cos in the end im the right one where as you my friend are just a fucking idiot. just stfu you moron! =)
@thecalvinkid I'm a TNA fan, and I'm not a redneck. We don't even have rednecks in this country. I'd also like to remind you that one of WWE's biggest stars ever was a 'redneck.'
You do need to further your statement, I'm afraid. Stand by your bullshit. If you're right, surely you can prove WHY you're right rather than just sit there throwing out insults and defending your precious WWE with insults, rather than an informed opinion
That's just childish. A wrestler is not "Exclusive" to a certain company. They all go through a form of wrestling school and and they all spend ample time on the indies before going to a major promotion.
Furthermore if you don't like TNA then go watch other videos, sheesh.
@thecalvinkid Hahaha, i'm totally a redneck kid, As a matter of fact I hate rednecks, But you seem to have the intelligence of one, maybe you should read the definition of sell out before you use the word?

see I actually had hope for TNA during this show. and I remember as soon as I saw him I was just so disappointed after hearing him say he will never work for Russo again. after his "what is TNA?" speech. now I know he is really trying to get a lot of guys in TNA over so they can step up to the big leagues one of these days but still I just hated to see him there and it's even worse now.
WWE Storylines are so god damn stale that I am now watching TNA. Thank god for TNA and WWE needs to step it up and get away from the PG Bullshit era. Cena needs to join Nexus and take it to the next level.
the most disrespectful thing flair could have done to HBK. HBK ended his career at wrestlemania, he goes to tna what less than a year later? i like flair, but bitch move.
@whatthehellvideos hey you fucking stupid retarded fuck, saying tna is shit without reasons just makes you stupid bastard.and yeah flair is way better in tna than to go to that disgusting, boring pg shitshow
@Chaosdog30 I'd say so, yeah. That's kind of the point of doing things like this-ratings. Are you seriously trashing the company for trying to improve their product and get more viewers? You're a moron, and so are the five people who voted for your comment. TNA may have the worst creative team in the history of the business but even they realise what their goals are-they're just incredibly bad at achieving them due to sheer incompetence. Even so, they drew a lot of viewers on Jan 4th
Are freakin serious Ric Flair you're so damn old, and your career was over. Ric Flair one hit and you're dead you should really should not be wrestling.

WWE Storylines are so god damn stale that I am now watching TNA. Thank god for TNA and WWE needs to step it up and get away from the PG Bullshit era. Cena needs to join Nexus and take it to the next level.

@TsytaNZ Actually WWE will always be better than TNA, end of story.
But TNA is still good though.

Oh.. my.. god..
TNA must be desperate to get better ratings.
Chaosdog30 1 year ago 25
@Chaosdog30 I'd say so, yeah. That's kind of the point of doing things like this-ratings. Are you seriously trashing the company for trying to improve their product and get more viewers? You're a moron, and so are the five people who voted for your comment. TNA may have the worst creative team in the history of the business but even they realise what their goals are-they're just incredibly bad at achieving them due to sheer incompetence. Even so, they drew a lot of viewers on Jan 4th
