Ah hes fine we all make mistakes. ( I know he broke his pelvis i mean fine as in someone not to be criticized because he did some he shouldn't have done everyone does something stupid in there lives more times than once)
My cousin, the crazy ass skydiver of the family. Hope you enjoyed MY bed for those 3 months you couldnt walk you crazy lil doofus! Even then id still stay up with you all nights listenin to you yell in your sleep because the pain was so bad. But the wheelchair was fun to play in! And ya got me hooked on wipeout. Good times, Good times. Hope you will in the sky again one day. or wait til jaylynn is old enough an take her haha! jk. dont. but im still waitin on goin with you!!!
The "something" that went wrong was (canopy) pilot error. Totally avoidable! What the hell was that anyway? At first it looked like he was going to do a 270, the stopped halfway through, and starts turning the other way?!? It also looked like it was probably toggle turns, not front risers (a really bad idea). And what was that canopy? It was clearly non-elliptical. I'm guessing that he's probably hardly ever done a high performance approach or else he'd be jumping a canopy designed for it
@ar5000 I'm a scuba diver becoming interested in sky diving. This accident reminds me of all the idiot scuba divers that hurt or kill themselves because they do something stupid and violate something they learned in training. Even experienced divers will occasionally do something so amazingly stupid and kill themselves that you are left stunned by their stupidity. This sky diver is the same way. He's an idiot. This didn't "just happen." He caused it. He's a fool.
Dude, you need to rewrite your description of this video Saying, "...teach you that after almost 400 jump something can go wrong." is why the average whuffo thinks skydiving is dangerous. Nothing "went wrong" in that jump, other than your friend being a stupid fuck. He was the only thing that went wrong. Remember this - If you're going to be stupid, you better be tough.
Somebody that would have joined our sport reads this and thinks that something went wrong with the equip PLEASE CHANGE IT
400 jumps isnt actually that many. quite often its where you get yourself into trouble thinking yeah Ive got all this under control.....and often you havent really.
I don't think it has much to do with downsizing, he has 400 jumps, it's a reasonable big canopy and he spiraled it into the ground, I wonder why. I'd guess he was too close to the buildings and kept turning to avoid.
Every jumper shoudl learn to execute flat & flaring turns well.
I'm new to the sport. I've been hurt enough in other sports. I think I'll stick to the 'No turns below 200ft rule..." Let the youngins swoop & hook. No Thanks.
He tried to hotdog his approach. No turns below 200ft. It should be a steady glide for the final approach leg. Whatever the sport is. You get good. You get cocky. Then, you get hurt. It's a progression as old as time...
Quick recovery, blue skies and soft landings bro! I pitty all these pricks that think they are too good to make a mistake and want to tell you what they would have done. JUST WAIT! Even the best bounce.
Was standing just inside the hangar when he pulled off this wonderful stunt. He sounded like a car hitting the side of the hanger when he bumped in. Had to distract the days students while the ambulance carted him out. Definitely something I'd prefer to never have to watch again.
why ??? bad luck ,thats what happens when you f**k around ,no need to be tunrning so low chap, you learned the hard way i guess, never mind hope you fully recover
Glad you are still here. Were you intending to swoop past the hanger or what? It would be nice if we could all learn a bit of what not to do. Your thoughts are appreciated.
Really was not planning 2 swoop, but was planning 2 come between hangers to fly by camera...final turn was a toggel turn...i came out of that turn flying at the hanger and made a rear riser turn to avoid hangar, knowing i would crash and prepared for it the best i could...obviously final turn was a little low and over objects...STUPID PILOT ERROR!!!
Thanks Chile...much respect for how hard mother earth really is...lol...lesson learned...selling hot rod parachute and upsizing...really no need to come in fast anymore, just need 2 land safe so I can jump again & again...
I am alive...suffered broken pelvis & a broken hip socket...internally bled for 2 days until 1st surgery to repair pelvis...opened from the front...2 days later opened form the back to repair broken hip socket, 2nd surgery...received blood for 2 days to replace blood loss...3 rods & 18 screws holding me together now...10 day hospital stay...now recovering and rehabilitating...told cant walk for 3 months...we will see about that!!!
you must be a licensed jumper to receive wing suit training and usually a miminum of 500 jumps under your belt...were you get skydive training is kinda your choice...Skydive Tulsa, Skydive Airtight are local or Skydive Skyranch in Silom Springs Ark I have a good friend from local area that is an instructor there...good place & good people there!!! either the wind was really bad or he was just being careless but most skydive deaths are do to carelessness but hes lucky he only was injured!

dorbie 2 years ago
so he didn't plan his approach well? then tried to execute a turn fairly late, and lost control of the canopy?
leisulin 2 years ago
He never lost control, he controlled it into the ground. Skydiving canopies tend to dive lose altitude rapidly in a turn.
