whoa i went from Full Metal Jacket the Wooly Bully scene.to sam the sham.and somehow to the ward.tripout. its like i warped through a time space continuum from the 60s to the 80s.wait warp music.hmm.shuffling wtf!
I first saw this video on USA Network's "Night Flight" back in 1985 or 1986. I never thought I'd see this again! Fantastic song and video, sort of based on Samuel Fuller's legendary pulp film classic, "Shock Corridor" (note the black klansman in the wheelchair).
This is actually a letterboxed (cropped) version, also deleting the copyright logo of the restored official version made for the "Knights of Fuzz" DVD. You can still pick up an un-cropped, non-bootleg version...
Everything into mainstream today sucks in a way that if you turn into an idiot is very good for politics into the right wing. The Fuzztones are a band that has kept their own principles into rock and roll which they believe. The underground scene even old scene is still an avant-garde scene, and the rest is crap
I worked in "Pilgrim State" hospital back in the mid-80's when I was with SCPD...the PD had radio equipment on the top floor of that building. We had to be locked in the top floor so none of the "clients" would follow us and jump out the windows ! That was a very cool place, the top floor. We were walked through the "lock" wards by security. Actually a lot of those poor souls weren't as crazy as some out on the streets !
Brings back a ton of memories looking down those halls !
Ward 81 - The Fuzztones [New York, New York] - 1984 - "Rudi Protrudi (vocals) RIPS through some crazy/scary garage and Deb O'Nair pounds her Vox organ. Rudi Protrudi penned song." - Lysergic Emanations (Music Maniac)-1996.
Yes!! The Shock Corridor was a great influence on our making of this video!! We filmed this at the Edgewood State Hospital...check out the website about this haunted old place...it's gone now but not forgotten! We had a great time filming this video and there are some real patients that we picked up on the Bowery back in 1984 when we made this film. We also picked up the Hip Hop dudes in Harlem on the way to Edgewood and put them in the film. From one who knows...THE Deb O'Nair
@voxvixen Hi Deb. I remember reading about 20 years ago in the Cult of Fuzz, that the "Hip Hop" dudes are in fact "Run DMC" who delivered pizza to the set? I'm guessing thats them at the 4minute 26 second mark - true or false?
This is one of the best tracks of Lysergic Emanations of 1986. Got the original vinyl and it seems it's worth quite some dough nowadays. It's not gonna go, it stays put. My youth memories are my youth memories...Saw The Fuzztones live a few times as well, great :)
Check out ALICE COOPERS 'VENGENCE IS MINE' video on YouTube. It appears Alice has almost lifted his video scene for scene from the Tones'. You be the judge...
Whoa! I remember this from Night Flight on the USA channel, way back when! My old friend Tony is in this video. He's the nurse with the cigarette hanging from his mouth, haha! Very cool stumbling on to this!

Nope, that's not Joey, but he IS in the Fuzztones video "Nine Months Later"
and so is Ian Astbury - they were both big Fuzztones fans!
Ian appears at 0:07, Joey at 0:08, and Ian again at 0:16.
