  • That is not how you play starwars.

  • i see you have quite a few ocarinas, i'm not sure if that's legal, i'd hate to see you get in trouble, i think you better send a couple to me. You can send me the 2 facalink doubles, i'm sure that will keep you out of trouble with the ocarina police

    :-)

  • how did you manage to get warmstone combined with hardwood?? did you do a special order?

  • MO did a few warmwood Ocarina's which were part of a test batch for a potential new offering, which due to difficulties in production I am unsure if MO will be making more.

  • what does the forte do to it? does it mean its louder?

  • Its a bigger sound not just louder, more like the difference between a whistle and a trumpet well kinda... hehe...

  • cool i cant wait to get mine

  • This video is the one that convinced me to get a forte. It's not like I need a loud ocarina, but the tonal quality is gorgeous on the forte. The notes feel so, I don't know, open, I guess.

  • I understand what you mean, and thank you, im glad my video helped you.

    all the best

    dave

  • Thanks! Im looking forward to the Forte review. Will you be going over the strength you can play it at? Very loud but still maintains its pitch?

  • I'm planning on it, soon as I can. I am not sure if I'll play much of a song yet on it its still very complex for my level of play, but as for a technical review of it and scales and so on, i think i can handle that... (GRIN)

  • Much appreciated!

  • Aloha,

Thank you for the input, it's very helpful in my decision making process. Blessings and take care.

  • Thank you for sharing your ocarinas. I'm going to get a double but not sure which one. Do you have any complaints about your double forte? That one is on my short list and I can't seem to find much about it except here on youtube. Any information you can share with me will be really helpful. Thanks.

  • The double forte is brilliant a little heavy but thats for the concert booming sound very very nice ocarina, if you want a softer sound i suggest the standard AC Focalink double. I think you should be able to find all the data you need on any ocarinas if you join us on the ocarina network website. (private message me if you cant find the url)

  • "Yeah, if I start with the right note..."

Kind of ironic, because you're not starting with the right note, anyhow. The starting note should be your tonic when doing just the normal scale. Cover one more tonehole, I guess...

    I have trouble describing notes!

  • hehe i dont remember what i was doing now, that video is "old" in the scheme of things haha

  • Lol, sorry, I forget to check posting times....

  • no worries.. hehe

    hope all is well

    dave

  • I bought a white Focalink Forte AC Ocarina. The sound is really great!

  • Whoa couldnt sent us a link for that one on their shop could you? I dont see a white forte anywhere? is it a double or a triple? Or is it not on the english webpage?

  • Nice comparison! You're playing part of the Star Wars Theme right?

  • thanks and yah trying to (GRIN)

  • Awesome new ocs - I like the hardwood warmstone MO, sweet as hell!!

  • It is very very nice, hope they start doing more of them soon!

BTW, I love how Kenji Ogawa's website reads, the electronic translator dosn't do it that well does it? (GRIN)

  • WHY DOES EVERYBODY HAVE THE OCARINAS I WANT!!!

nice video, but you can keep the forte one, just not my cup of tea for some reason

  • Hehe, who knows? the Forte one is great, but it too has its own feel, right now because I am so new I do a lot of scales and improv on my oc's the Forte is very diverse and I do love it, but I seem right now to be doing more improv and practice on my STL "Infinity" or my Hardwood MO right now atleast.

Got a hind hardwood sweet Potato Soprano C coming and a Kenji Ogawa C to add to the list shortly as well.

  • Apparently you like "forte" first.

    Is it really magical?

  • Its good fun but they all have their own spirit about them and each feels unique I honestly have no favorites right now, depends on what I want at the given moment in the feel of what Im trying to practice, i stink and am trying to practice as much as I can you already knew that. (GRIN)

  • Thanks! David

    Your video is helpful.

  • No problem glad you feel so, I'm practicing every day as much as I can, I know my playing is horrendous but I've only been playing a short time now, but I love it and will stick with it, I'm posting these videos to try to help others and to show a snap shot over time from brand new to whenever... Practice though will never stop I love it too much. I dont expect to be any good for a year or two based on others history learning to play.

  • Guess what?

You made me want to get a Forte too xD

And so the ocarina shopping spree continues O_O

  • I hope you do, I've had never found an instrument that just feels symbiotic and natural like the forte before.

  • Haha, guess what?

I just received my Warmstone Mountain ocs today, and they're in the same jade design as you.

It was a lovely surprise, because I was expecting Corian to be their standard white model ^^

    It is beautiful <3

  • Oh thats cool! I hope you enjoy them! Hope to see you playing them on youtube too!! You didnt hand pick the MO(s) you wanted? They usually let you select which one exactly you want and if you are the first to finish the transaction thats the one you get. (Do you have the Polycarb ones?)

  • I used to have a Polycarb G, which I gave to someone as a gift.

  • Thats great! I hope they have excelled with it! Can you feel the difference in the feel and sound between them like i can?

  • The difference is quite apparent. I already wrote a review at TON ^^

  • Exactly my point, I am going to do a review between all four of mine once I feel good playing Bad moon Rising (TON Challenge 1) on each of my four MO's and let them speak for their selves (minus my bad playing (GRIN) but i'll practice up to try to be at least ok at it.)

  • Good job!

  • Thank you!,

    Dave

  • Very delicious collection there. Looking forward to the reviews.

Does the Forte feel different in your hands? To me it looks as if it's not as smooth as the normal ones, which I think would be quite good. But looks can be decieving.

  • Wow I didn't know they could do a mix of Hardwood and Warmstone! It looks brilliant!!

  • Apparently its something new their doing I hope so, it's a wonderful sounding instrument and thank you I think so too. (GRIN)

  • Wow... the tone of the Forte is indeed "fresh"!

    Those Mountains are beautiful too!

    Custom designs?

  • The "Forte" is magical truly! I look forward to getting good on it!

The C MO is available as standard if you check out what they have available, the G is apparently a new design It has such a good sound (I took of the rubber strap and replaced it with a leather one, moving the safety attachment to the leather strap)

I really see myself using the MO's the most, and when I want to do something with that special feel that's when I'll get out the other ocarina based on what I'm playing of course.

  • Can't wait to see the Mountain review video.

  • I'm looking forward to it, just trying to find a good new song to demo on them, one for the MO's and one for the Focalink Doubles I just have to keep it simple Im still too new at this (need the tabs to work with (GRIN))
