Lighten up People!!!! I have 5 indoor dogs and have a massive pool, they all hate the water so they don't go near it. George on the other hand likes water and is totally loving the attention he's getting from the kids!! Gee, those who think this is not kids/dog having a ball...must not be dog owners!!
Great Video of the kids and George PLAYING POOLSIDE!! :)
After reading the comments though, I was amazed at all the negative comments!
These people have no Idea about St Bernard's, Kidd's, and I'm thinking dogs in general!! Everyone was having fun! and that is what life is a very big part of!!
Let us not let these people with these narrow views run our lives!!
COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL DOG
As the owner of a Saint Bernard named Abby for her long life of 13 years I can say that there is no other place that this pup would rather be than with the children. Abby would constantly disappear from the backyard and be found at the Elementary school across the street during recess hours. Honestly if George felt mistreated he would have removed himself from the situation as all dogs do. Instead he is galloping around the pool with his tongue hanging out with a Saint Bernard smile.
I don't have much patience w/bratty kids, but these kids are not bratty & George is having fun. He likes being splashed because he keeps licking the water. All dogs are smart enough to run away from this activity if it were bothering them. George is getting exercise. I will bet you anything that if any of the kids were in distress, George would jump in to save them. He's GORGEOUS! We had two Saints, just love them. One was named "Georgy Girl," & she watched TV. I'll try to post pics.
Just a note for those who think George is distressed or being mistreated. If you look you will see that he is enjoying himself. He is quite capable (and often does), get into the pool. He is also capable of retaliating to the kids splashing etc which he refrains from doing. In this clip he is still a pup and learning and all dogs should be exposed to differing situations. Both George and the kids were fully supervised through the clip. (Yes he did slip, and this was dealt with). Cheers
I like how the little girl starts crying from a play nibble that only got her clothes, after they riled him up in the first place. Not a good way to treat your dog anyhow. =/
This video is the reason why in my future when I have kids, I won't get a dog until they can treat it nicely. Dogs don't like being splashed in the face, and you can't tell by "George's" reaction.
@Spartan4424 I agree. Although I'd say these kids are well past the age where they should have already been taught better. It's not the splashing I take issue with - it's the play that is causing him to trip and fall on the edge of the pool at least three times in this short video. He's a baby dog of a giant breed - this kind of play could be disastrous.
Actually, he loves being splashed, and hosed etc. He puts himself in those situations (and can remove himself if he cares to). If you actually knew him, you might actually notice that he is enjoying himself.
For all the people talking about the children in the video do not call them annoying or irritating....for pete's sakes there children they are having fun!
Well yes, they are sort of annoying and irritating but what kids aren't (lol). In this video, the kids and the dog are having a ball. There is no distress that is why I posted it here. If there was any distress I certainly wouldn't post it proudly on youtube.
@FallOutBoy0096 oh yar? cellodax88 is right, playing with the pup like this stresses him and is definitely unhealthy for his growth. A pet should be treated like family, not a toy.
a lovely family ... congrats

Lol geez, why do people worry about the dog? He's having fun and if you don't see that you probably have never seen a dog.

@DoggieFosters
Any play can be disastrous, that is why we decided that he had had enough by the end of the video and we removed him from the situation.
He could get in just as much trouble running down a hill, walking along the creek or playing with other dogs in the park.
