  • @jkdm98 No it is NOT an alternative ending. Actually Vader simply doesn't really die. We are to believe he is dead until Episode IV when it becomes apparent that he lived. Keep in mind it could all be part of Emperor Palpatine's plan as is everything else from Episode I to Episode VI.
