not only is reed better than homomalu but our defense is better overall, just because one guy is hurt doesn't mean we fall apart, have fun steelers, you basically gave away your best receiver, ur qb is a rapist and no improvements on D
2 ccoolahan14, Great video dude. Don't pay attention to these Raven hatin bitches on youtube. They'll be hatin us this yr. with Boldin, Stallworth and hopefully Mason receiving for us. wit Rice and McClain in the backfield. the Ravens are gonna be a beast
haha "waaaahh someone proved that Polamalu is an absolute joke in comparison and I can't think of a response to that except to say that the person that proved this is a loser." Go cry you little bitch. Damn I'm a loser because I made a 4 minute video about someone! I guess the makers of 50 million other highlight videos on youtube are losers too. I guess you're a loser for watching it, and I guess you're a loser for just watching the Polamalu video and favoriting it! I'm sorry your favorite.....
player got shit on, why don't you tell him to stop being a joke in comparison...."Waahhh Polamalu is clearly worse than Reed so I'm going to rate this video a "1" because it proves how much of an idiot I am." He looks like a girl, talks like a girl, and hits like a girl..Now go cry.
Whats up ccoolaHANDJOB14 AKA Ed Reeds BITCH? Still got Ed Reeds dick stuck up ur ass? go cry.. yeah ill go cry to ur momma so she can suck my dick. Then make a 4 min video and rate it #"1". In 4 min u played the same shit 5 times n the rest is stats u made up. The only true fact about the video is u spelled Polamalu right. UR A FUCKIN GROUPIE GET OFF HIS NUT SACK. Fuck Ed Reed, Fuck Troy Polamalu and FUCK U. Go fuck ur mom but u gotta wait in line after me. Ed is first.. haha Runs in the family.
god bless u 4 making this vid n the music is nasty....troy is good no doubt but u dont put him in the same category as ed reed...reed was a monster at tackling b4 his neck injury i remember the commentators saying his necks been bothering him in games last yr. to me ed reed is god of the secondary
Yeah that sounds great in theory if not for the fact that a). that still leaves polamalu worse at EVERY OTHER statistical category and quite possibly even tackles too, and b). Polamalu's tackles have GONE DOWN every single year since he has been a starter (not counting when he only played 11 games)! But yet another great argument!
who's better Ed Reed , or Brian Dawkins? im not sure how many years Dawkins has been in the NFL though so dont get at me for their years Pro being alotta time spread apart.
Definitely Reed right now, but as far as careers go I'd say Reed but its close. An argument could definitely be made for Dawkins, unlike Polamalu which is a joke. Dawkins has been in the league longer and is a definite hall of famer, if your from Philly you say Dawkins, if your from Bmore you say Reed. I will say that in his prime I think Dawkins could hit harder than Reed however, but I'd give the edge overall to Reed.
I don't need to see Hines Ward literally HIDING from Ed Reed bc he's so scared to hit someone when he's looking (explain what he is doing with Ronnie Prude #27....undeniably he is HIDING), then waiting till he is absolutely sure Reed isn't looking at him bc he knows he wil get destroyed, then hitting him helmet to helmet to know that Hines Ward is a huge pussy.go to google videos and type in "cedric benson troy polamalu" then under related videos click the first video on the left.i pissed myself
Plus I actually just watched your video and I can't believe you are trying to tell me the same exact shit you put in your video. Just get over it people change even if he was better at those stats you need to take things into consideration. Maybe they had a good day, maybe the other team played good/bad that day and ect.
yup, ed reed just "had a good day" every single sunday for three straight years, and Polamalu has just "had a bad day" every sunday for his entire career right? makes sense...
I'm not embarrassed I think it's hilarious how you are some retard who can't remember football is just a fucking sport and you don't need to debate it like you are on a goddamn trial. Troy makes plays as does ed reed they are both good you don't need to keep bitching.
shouldn't you be crying in your room after getting absolutely embarrassed in this "debate" (if you can call one person looking like an absolute moron a "debate")? Look, I know you said you were going to stop posting, but continue to because you feel bad that you got really really badly embarrassed and are trying to get me back, but nothing you say is going to change the fact that a). you're an idiot and b). it is undeniable that when playing the same position Reed was better at EVERYTHING. sucks
haha you know the SBs don't count and you can't come up with a response! Seriously, you're doing really well in this argument! Unless you feel like proving that the 70s steelers weren't on steroids (good luck), than they don't count. Here I'll fix it for you- " 6 super bowls* "
oh thats funny I thought you were going to stop posting? And when 4 are a direct result of steroid use and the other 2 are a direct result of the refs handing the trophy to the team that makes the nfl the most money, that means zero legitimate super bowls...As an NFL executive said in response to someone pointing out how bad the refs were in Ravens-steelers II, "We'll sell more T-shirts if the steelers win the division." Sounds fair....
Lol...Everytime I see 1 NEW COMMENT! on my page I know it's from you. You just can't get over anything. I'm just going to stop answering your crybaby ass and troy has 2 superbowls. Good day.
there we go. Another steeler "fan" (worst fans in sports) gets educated. I'm sorry Troy can't compare I really am. If he was even semi close than there could be actual debate, rather than me making you look like an absolute idiot making you run away.
zzzz hop off ed reed's dick Coolahan ravens fans will say ed reed and steelers fans will say polamalu and smart ravens fans will say polamalu. it's not worth arguing with you because you can't seem to comprehend that they are 2 completely different spots in a game and things change even if they did play the same spot for x amount of time..
ha I guess thats the argument you come up with when there's literally no argument you can make. If a player has proven to be better at literally EVERYTHING maybe you should just accept the fact that he's better. And yes, the least knowledgeable fans in the league will say Polamalu is better, but why ask morons when you can ask the unbiased players who play against him. In a AFC North player survey, Ed Reed was voted the best player in the division, with TWICE as many votes as the second best....
player. In the SI players poll (of players around the entire league), Ed Reed was voted the second most dominant defensive player (behind only Haynesworth- bc it was taken after week 1). The poll only lists the top 5 which Polamalu obviously wasn't on, and it wouldn't surprise anyone who actually knows what they are talking about if he wasn't even top 10...So yeah, it's more than safe to say that Ed Reed is WAY better than Polamalu, but if you wanna keep being a delusional idiot than go for it.
Haha wow, just feeding the American stereotype, cool whatever floats your boat buddy. Ill just go back to my ice TV and my igloo, meanwhile your egotistical and arrogant theories illustrate your true intellect.
how is he an injury prone little bitch? Because he gets injured just about every year thats how you moron. Reed is playing with a career threatening injury while Polamalu cries on the sideline. And if I asked Joe Flacco who was better I guarantee he would say Ed Reed you moron. he's going to say Polamalu is better because he caught a pass thrown RIGHT TO HIM? Are you retarded? (response not necessary)..He just witnessed Reed be SIX INTs behind Polamalu with only FIVE games left to play, and.....
Reed STILL finished with TWO MORE INTs than the caveman...Oh, and u keep talking about how they play different positions...Well guess what else you moron? In the three seasons Reed played SS, he missed a COMBINED ZERO GAMES! That's how Polamalu's an injury prone little bitch.
Dude i get your a Ravens fan i am also.... but calling Troy a injury prone bitch? are you serious? thats pathetic Ed Reed has a career ending neck injury how would you like it if people talked shit about that when Ed hangs it up.... have some respect these guys are human beings like you and me Pitt fans are gonna say Troy Ravens fans are gonna say Reed i mean there no point in arguing about it and demeaning the players its ridiculous
now everytime somebody say somethin dumb bout polamalu being better dan reed ima just show dem dis video! EVERYBODY POINT BLANK PERIOD -ED REED IS DA BEST EVER- END OF STORY
alright you fucking moron let me clear this up for you since you're clearly an idiot...Ed Reed was better AT EVERY SINGLE STAT when they played the SAME POSITION (there goes your first retarded argument).. Wanna feel even dumber? In Ed Reed's THREE seasons playing the SAME position as Polamalu (SS), he has significantly MORE INTs than Polamalu has IN HIS ENTIRE SEVEN YEAR CAREER (21- 18)...Oh, and here's another opportunity to feel dumb...Ed Reed was better at EVERY SINGLE STAT on a....
..PER GAME BASIS also...So that means IT DOESNT MATTER THAT POLAMALU'S AN INJURY PRONE LITTLE BITCH, because Ed Reed is STILL better at EVERYTHING when comparing them on a PER GAME basis when playing the same position.
And dont get me started on how many Records Reed has....compared to......none of polamalu.
I dont see how this is even a question anymore........Stats show reed has more solo tackles than your LB/SS/Bullshit, and blows him away in scoring, and INTS.
Oh yeah just as a sie bar, in the 2008 Title game Ward's first catch where he ran for bi yds was a diuble cover by the Corner and Reed and Reed gets knocked to the ground as Ward takes off then when Reed get up Reed is running in front of Ward instead of turning around and making the tackle.
It at the begining of the Hines Ward talks Trash video from the back angle.
again, Ed Reed was in PERFECT position on that play...It was a good throw..You make Roethlisberger throw that pass 10 times, it's either getting picked off or incomplete 9 times, he put it right where the defense couldn't defend it despite perfect coverage..And again, Reed was getting BLOCKED after the catch, I don't understand your obsession with the most trivial aspects of a play...And for the record, I DO watch just about every steeler game, including every game this year.
why are you sending me videos? I don't think you realize yet, NO ONE wants to see completely average tackles or one of Polamalu's 18 career INTs (less than THREE per season!)...Unless you can somehow disprove the fact that when they played the same position (Reed's FIRST three seasons vs Polamalu's entire 6 year career) that Reed was better AT EVERYTHING (yes, better at getting tackles, sacks, FRs, FFs, 1.5 x as many PDs, 2.5 x as many INTs, 10x as many return yards, 10 x as many TDs) or show...
some hard hits to disprove the fact that Polamalu's terrified of hitting high after getting ran over (and concussed) by Cedric Benson NO ONE CARES...Seriously, I watched the Titans game, I don't need to watch a video. I'm sure it doesn't include the THREE personal fouls, or the three completions he gave up...The comparison is a JOKE (just ask the players who play against him)...Polamalu's not better at ANYTHING! There's NOTHING you can say to this, Reed is WAY better than Polamalu..end of story.
When he played SS yes, he was DEFINITELY better. What exactly are you basing your opinion of him in run support as a SS off of? I KNOW you don't remember his run support FOUR YEARS ago...So let's see, that means your basing it off of his run support NOW, when he is the ONLY safety in the league who will line up 25 yards downfield, and when he is playing with a CAREER THREATENING neck injury and he has to GRAB people with his hands bc he cant hit anyone with his shoulder anymore...
Polamalu LITERALLY misses more tackles than anyone in the league...Oh, and you wanted to declare Polamalu's Titans game the greatest ever (when if you look at it objectively it was nothing more than AVERAGE), how bout Reed today- 6 solo tackles, 1 INT, 60 return yards, 1 TD, and 1 FF that the Ravens recovered and saved a TD/FG, oh, and maybe the most important part, 0 completions allowed (troy seems to always suck at that last one).
I wasn't sayng Troy's Tenn game was best ever just that it was was a great first half.
He had a deep one haned int, a stop of Johnson in the backfield on a run and for no gain on a swing out pass, was the only one to run him down later when Troy saved the TD and a pass defensed.
Reed has played 22 more games than Troy, a season and a half.
Props to Ed on his pick 6 today, I thought about you when I saw the highlight, LOL!
At this rate he could catch Woodson for all time pick returns for TDs.
Have you seen the play on the play vs Cleveland where I beleive Edwards catches a ball on a CB or LB and breaks a tackle and is running alone down the sideline at full speed and Troy comes flying from the other side of the field and runs him down?
Or the 2 stops in the AFC Title game of 2005 vs Denver when he comes 20 yds away to drop the RB behind the line on the swing out pass and prevents a first down after being blocked and still fighting towards the runner or his multible one handed picks?
what does this have to do with ANYTHING? You can't think of a single hard Polamalu hit so you have to come up with THIS?haha I've seen the Denver play, Polamalu GOT BLOCKED INTO THE TACKLE..Serioulsy, the more you talk the more desperate you look....Polamalu is a joke in comparison but you're making it A LOT worse for the guy..here we are looking at tons of HUGE ed Reed hits (and theres TONS more that I couldn't put in the vid)and you're talking about when Polamalu got blocked into a RB's ankle?
Woodson was a College Safety Pitt drafted for CB and he was a great corner but he had Saftey instincs and bit on pumps and play action too much but also made big plays when he was right.
When he went Safety for you guys he got better.
Even though Troy played Safety in college, I feel like he's in a LB's body and would be a sick sideline to sideline 4-3 Outside LB who would have great backside pursuit, awesome Zone coverage, the question is could he shed bocks, I think he could.
hahahah you mean the one where he got KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT (literally)? hahaha this seriously qualifies as a hard Troy Polamalu hit? How desperate are you? (really desperate, I've seen the guy play for 6 years...that was more rhetorical). That was seriously the ONE time Polamalu didn't hit someone in the ankle who had a full head of steam and he got knocked the eff out...No wonder he's too scared to tackle high.
Do you agree Troy's pefromance in the 08 AFC Title game was great?
It that game alone he dropped Magahee and Flaco behind the line of scrimmage.
Jumped over the top to hold Flaco up on 4th down long enough to get extra help and interecepted and returned for a TD a late 4th quarter pass.
The reason I ask is I see Troy have games similar to this alot the other one that comes to mind is the 05 AFC title game and the first half of the 09 opener.
I'm not really sure the point of this question...I guess he played okay, although him jumping over the pile on the flacco sneak was WAY overblown, bc the only reason Flacco was stopped was bc he had nowhere to move, not bc one guy is grabbing his head. If that were the only thing in his way, Flacco would have gotten the first with ease. Shockingly (sarcasm) CBS somehow failed to mention the fact that Polamalu did the same thing on the McGahee TD (dive over the top), and as a result of him...
completely out of position, McGahee was able to score easily...Would you trade a fourth down stop which he wasn't even responsible for for a TD allowed? And as for the pick, it was thrown RIGHT TO HIM, literally ANY safety in the league makes that pick...If were going to talk about individual games, how bout in 06 with the steelers playoff hopes on the line, Polamalu getting ABSOLUTELY BURNED for TWO long TDs, while Reed had a pick he returned 50 yards (Hines tried to hit him, and couldn't.....
even TOUCH him), returned a fumble at the goal line thirty yards, PANCAKED Heath Miller (who outweighs him by FIFTY pounds) to help Dawan Landry score on an INT (Hines Ward got absolutely KILLED by Bart Scott on the play as well), among many other things to help the Ravens win by 24.
It's not I haven't seen Ed Reed out of position vs Pittsburgh.
The regular deason game in 08 in Pittsburgh on Monday night in the 4th quarter, Hlomes out a move on both safties for a TD and in the 08 Title game Holmes cut back right towards Reed's middle and Reed was getting blocked down the sideline as Holmes scored.
Safties don't really get burned IMO like a CB becasue they are taking chances and gambeling so often, it's give and take.
haha on BOTH tds allowed, Polamalu was in ONE on ONE coverage (trust me it was BAD).. Second of all, your examples of Reed being "out of postion" are absolutely pathetic (seriously, have you ever seen these plays?) your first example (Holmes on MNF)- FABIAN WASHINGTON was in coverage on a short slant, Ed Reed slipped at about the 10 yard line on the worst field in the league (while not in coverage), this qualifies as being out of position? lol..Second example (holmes in AFCC)- again, Fabian....
Washington was in coverage (he slipped on the worst field in the league), Holmes then had the ENTIRE FIELD with A BLOCKER IN FRONT OF HIM and this somehow qualifies as Reed being out of position? ARE YOU SERIOUS? 3rd example- don't remember it, and based on how terrible your other examples are I'm going to just assume Ed Reed had absolutley nothing to do with it and its just yet another example of someone desperately trying to think of a time Reed was "out of position" when there are seriously..
FIFTY examples of Polamalu out of position and giving up TDs..Another one for you just bc he's a joke in comparison and you deserve it for your pathetic attempts to try to make Reed look bad- Joe Flacco's first TD (on youtube)-Polamalu bites WAY too hard on the playaction fake, tries to get back in cover his man (in one on one coverage again), only thing is, he's WAY too late..Easy TD, Polamalu gives up YET ANOTHER TD..Similar play against the colts last year, bites WAY too hard on PA, TD colts.
EX point is classified as O not special teams just like the FG that Dallas only gave up in 71.
Pitt special teams gave up a blocked punt but EX Point was missed.
Luck on the point after yes, but still true.
08 Pitt gave up most of their post season points late after getting tired vs Rivers who was rated # 1, The great Warner and Rookie Flaco who was hot against everyone else.
You can watch an entire half of a Ravens game and even the whole game every now and then and not hear Ed Reed's name, just like the AFC title game last year.
If the QB chooses not to go in an area he's in then he won't make plays.
You can not gor more than 1 or 2 plays in th the first Defensive series if that without hearing Troy Polamalu's name.
He is always around the ball, he's more than a Great Safety he's a great Football player.
Yeah, definitely. Except for the biggest game of his life. Actually I do remember hearing Polamalu's name in that game, it was on the (at the very least) three missed tackles he had and the TD allowed....his stat line- 0 tackles, 0 sacks, 0 FFs, 0 FRs, 0 INTs, at least 3 missed tackles, 1 TD allowed, and 1 PD, thanks for playing Troy! You wanna know how a player's overrated? When his team would literally have been better off had he not played at all..When Reed's not putting up stats, its....
bc he's completely locking down the deep portion of the field, and qbs look at him before throwing away from him (Reed no longer plays in the box, so this HAS to be the only way you can hear from him...though when he did play in the box like Polamalu, he was better than Polamalu AT EVERY SINGLE STAT)..On the other hand, not only does Polamalu play on or near the LOS more than any safety, he is also ACTIVELY TARGETED by opposing qbs when in coverage (HALF of Troy's stats vs the Titans came on....
completions that Polamalu ALLOWED.....this is not a good thing....but of course the media would only talk about how he would make an easy tackle, ON THE GUY HE GAVE THE COMPLETION UP TO)
Super Bowls won by Ravens just before Reed, One, since Reed ZERO!
Steelers since 79 before Polamlu Zero SBs, since Troy, Two!
Troy doesn't give up completions unless he's playing slot or as a LB in the zone and he doen't make those tackles becasue he's going for the ball, he makes tackles on guys who made catches on the CB or LBs when he comes up from the safety spot.
In Nickle packages they will actually put a CB at SS while Troy plays one on one.
Sweet argument, the Patriots third string guard from 2001-2004 is better than Polamalu! And if Ed Reed is literally better than Polamalu AT EVERYTHING than I think it's safe to say that if Reed didn't have Kyle Boller at qb for half his years and the refs in his back pocket, giving his team every call in every major game bc his team makes the most money for the league, that Reed would have a SB too...Vs. Titans, troy was playing man on Ahmard Hall, gave up the completion when any other safety...
wouldn't have, then made the tackle for a 4 yard gain and was praised by the announcers for tackling a FULLBACK with his back towards Polamalu on a completion which shouldn't have been....Later, Ike Taylor passes off receiver running a deep post, bc he's in Polamalu's zone...Polamalu is WAY late getting there, allowing a twenty something yard completion and makes the easy tackle...Can't remember the third completion he gave up, but it was obviously pathetic (we are talking about Polamalu here)..
Troy has admitted he some times gambles and loses but he also makes many game changing plays as does ED but Troy makes the little plays al game long.
You are bring up individual failures as if I haen't seen Reed out o position.
Where was he when Holmes went 65 yds across his midddle?
You're going to bring up the Refs for Pittsburgh but then mention NE who's all 3 rings are Spygate releated according to Roger Goodell's admission to Senator Arlen Spector that the tapes went back to 2000.
are we talking about the Patriots? Obviously ravens fans would know better than anyone that both the steelers and patriots are handed games by the refs because they are two of the most profitable teams for the NFL...Case in point was the game TWO days ago, where the refs hand the patriots the game, the ravens say the refs handed the patriots the game, and the league doesnt even fine the ravens for saying that because the evidence is obvious that the patriots got all the calls.
great, thanks for proving once and for all that you don't know what you're talking about. Bob Sanders is primarily a STRONG safety (and thanks for therefore disproving YOUR OWN claim that no SS is on Polamalu's level)...And Dawkins is revered for being one of the best safeties ever (top 10), no one in their right mind would say that Dawkins is on Reed's level TODAY.. And you know what the embarrassing part is for this argument? Reed was the ONLY UNANIMOUS ALL-PRO LAST YEAR...in case you cant...
understand that, that means he is the ONLY player in the entire NFL who EVERY sportswriter who voted says was THE SINGLE BEST at his position...People argued against Peyton Manning, people argued against Adrian Peterson, people argued against Troy Polamalu, NO ONE argued against Ed Reed...I'd say that pretty much kills your argument.
Bob Sanders is not a Strong Saftey, he is a Free safety look it up.
Reed had alot of Picks in 2008 with great returns and that always impresses voters and the All Pro team is picked by the Associated Press so who gives a shit, they can't even get College rankings right.
Bob Sanders is a strong safety, who will occasionally play games at FS...google "bob sanders strong safety" if you want..And is it a bad thing that Reed had a lot of picks with great returns? Reed last year had MORE return yards than Polamalu has had FOR HIS ENTIRE CAREER..A free safety's job is to cover the deep ball (reed does it better than anyone) and force turnovers when possible (reed does it better than anyone) therefore you're basically admitting that he was picked bc he does what...
every FS is supposed to do, but Reed does it significantly better, therefore making him the unquestioned best player in the league at his position..Polamalu had FIFTY less tackles than Gibril Wilson last year, playing the same position..Its definitely tough to argue that Polamalu's the unanimous best in the league at SS, bc he doesnt do his job significantly better than others.
ed reed hardest hitter never the hardest hitter in league is literally roy williams he hit ppl and made them go in the complete direction no yards gained wen he makes contact
lol shows how much football u watch he started but he was injured lol he on the bengals avg 9 tkls a game he hits hardest cause the nfl still says it ed reed is coverage
i cant even understand your sentences what grade are you in..Yes, obviously I know he's on the bengals. Guess what? He was on the cowboys last year and was BENCHED because he sucked in coverage, not because of injury...Please don't respond bc no one knows what you're saying, what is wrong with you?
you aren't talking slang, you're just a moron who can't put a sentence together; Advice: stay in school....And he was benched prior to going on IR, and demanded his release from the cowboys BECAUSE HE WASNT GOOD ENOUGH TO PLAY...THAT is why he's not with the cowboys anymore and is with the bengals. Oh, and in 2007 he was named to football outsiders' ANTI- pro bowl team (players who are the worst in the league respective to their playing time)...And he got benched the next year...
00 Ravens D held up dominace in the post season so I give them their due but as bad as their O was in the reg season they had a one time Pro Bowl QB in Dilfer, and All World TE in sharp and a damn good thousand yd back in Jamal Lewis.
Remember 2008 Steeelrs O was # 23 rushing attack and Ben was sacked 46 times w/ the worst line ever.
Pitt in the playoffs did beat the # 1 rated QB Rivers, Rookie Flaco whoput up 30 on many teams but Pitt and 3 Wrs adn a QB in the SB as talented as any O ever.
don't act like Dilfer was good because he made a pro bowl (so did Derek Anderson). Dilfer was TONY BANKS' BACKUP that year...That is pathetic. And as I said, the ravens went FIVE STRAIGHT GAMES without scoring a TD! there's nothing anyone can say to this except to accept the fact that they were the worst SB winning offense in history, and the ravens STILL had the best defense in history. And the Ravens played the number 2, number 3, number 10 and number 13 offenses in the playoffs..
their offensive competition was just as good, if not better than the Steelers playoff competition, and they played three of these games ON THE ROAD (including SB...and the ravens D always plays much better at home). Steelers gave up nearly FOUR TIMES as many points in LESS games, with 2 out of their three games at home..Once again, there is no comparison..If the 06 ravens had won the SB there would be absolutely no comparison to that defense either.
I don't think 08 Pitt D is as good as 00 Ravens but are the 3rd.
Avearge ppg by opposing O was 21, Pitt gave up 13.9 both Pitt and Bal held the avearges to 7 less ppg.
85 Bears had Payton and put up 456 points and 46 D was new and it's since been defused.
They only gave up 10 post season points in 3 games w/ back to back shutouts but Ravens posted a SB shutout on D as did 74 Steelers( blocked punt TD just like your Kick return TD)
When Reed picks off a pass deep he has the entire Defense in front of him to st up blocks and he is naturally a good open field runner which is why they've had him retrun kicks.
haha THAT is your argument? It's just simply PATHETIC...Just admit that Reed is better than Polamalu..THERE WASN'T ONE THING HE WAS BETTER AT than Reed when playing the same position...Oh, and if Reed plays centerfield and has the whole defense to set up blocks, THAN WHY THE FUCK DID HE SET THE ALL-TIME RETURN record as a STRONG safety? And if Polamalu is like a LB playing safety than a). Why, in 6 years does he not have ONE hard hit, and b). why did Ed Reed have MORE TACKLES than him when...
and as for the "he's more than a great safety he's a great football player" comment....you might not realize this, BUT SAFETIES ARE FOOTBALL PLAYERS...If someone's a great safety, they would therefore HAVE to be a great football player as well, but hey, when your desperate, these are the types of statements that are made.
two rings* that were handed to them by the refs. But anyway, thats a sweet argument, Troy can kiss the Patriots third string guard from 2001-2004 rings'! And Ed Reed plays Free safety you moron, HE GOES TO WHERE THE BALL IS or where he thinks hes going, which is obviously a WAY less predictable position than Polamalu when he plays MAN coverage a third of the time, and the other two thirds he's doing the exact same thing as Reed..And teams do know where Polamalu is in coverage, then they throw...
DIRECTLY AT HIM because he sucks in coverage...And it's so pathetic that apparently the best game half of Polamalu's career (titans) according to Steelers "fans" (least knowledgeable in the league) was average AT BEST...He allowed three completions totaling about 45 yards (where HALF his tackles came from...this means he's BAD not good), had TWO personal foul penalties totaling 30 yards...thats SEVENTY FIVE YARDS allowed by Polamalu alone, oh, but he had a nice INT on a play where he was badly..
Again, I'm not going to start talking about how the refs give the steelers the game bc they are the most profitable team for the NFL (heck, you can go look at the ENTIRE WIKIPEDIA PAGE DEDICATED TO HOW THE REFS HANDED THE STEELERS THE SB against the seahawks)....And once again, unless you can prove ONE area where Polamalu was better than Reed at when playing the same position, THAN WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE WHERE THE DEFENSE RANKED? Reed was better at EVERYTHING and as bad as Reed shit on....
Polamalu statistically, the difference between Reed and Polamalu gets even more embarrassing when considering the non-statistical factors, including the most important part about being a safety- NOT GETTING BEAT FOR TDs....That's something that happens to Polamalu ALL THE TIME..I can think of THREE TDs allowed by Polamalu against the Ravens ALONE in the last three years alone...Including TWO IN ONE GAME...in ONE ON ONE COVERAGE...And of course you failed to mention the fact that in 2007, the...
Ravens lost FOUR OF THEIR TOP FIVE CBs to injury, and were starting their SIXTH CB (some teams don't even HAVE a sixth CB). I'm sure the fact that the Ravens had the best D by far in 06, then lost five of their top 6 cbs had NOTHING to do with the Ravens finishing TWENTY SECOND in the league in pass D that year despite entering the season with the exact same secondary from the year before right? I'm sure the steelers putting up a combined SEVEN points in two games against the Ravens in 06...
then Roethlisberger throwing a career high FIVE td passes....in the FIRST HALF...in the middle of a torrential downpour had NOTHING to do with the fact that the ravens started their 4th and 6th cb right? This is Ed Reed's fault? Oh, and you casually "forgot" to mention that ravens starters missed the THIRD most games due to injury in the entire NFL last year and STILL finished second in the league in total D, and a VERY strong case could be made that they wer STILL better than the Steelers D...
but this is all Ed Reed's fault right? Despite the fact that the Ravens were BY FAR the best defense in the league after the first couple of weeks before McAlister and Rolle were lost to injury, these factors had nothing to do with anything and it was all Reed's fault. Was it Ed Reed's fault that Polamalu wasn't even good enough to START as a rookie?
Even 2000 Ravens were # 8 vs the pass and # 2 overall and their opponents only aveaged 17 ppg where as 08 Steelers opponents averaged 21 ppg that is the idenical avearge for points given up per game based on opponents ppg average. f2000 Ravens gave up 10 ppg vs teams that avearged 17 ppg and Pitt 08 gave up 14 ppg vs teams that avearged 21 ppg, idenical avearge.
first of all, you're not seriously going to compare the ravens 2000 defense with the 2008 steelers defense...The Ravens 2000 defense GAVE UP LESS POINTS IN TWENTY GAMES (including the playoffs against the best teams in the league) THAN THE STEELERS DID IN TWELVE! thats the end of the discussion. Oh, and that was with the WORST offense to ever win a super bowl (the offense went FIVE STRAIGHT GAMES without a TD)..They gave up an AVERAGE of FOUR points/game in the FOUR PLAYOFF GAMES...
..the steelers 08 defense gave up SIXTY-ONE POINTS IN THREE playoff games (vs SIXTEEN points in FOUR playoff games for the Ravens)...And I guess what you don't realize is that YARDS really don't matter...What difference does it make if you give up yards but not points? The only way it would matter is if the offense never got the ball bc of it, but guess what? The ravens LAST YEAR were NUMBER 1 in time of possession! the only comparison that matters is how much a defense helps a team win...
therefore, the most important stats are 1). Points allowed 2). Turnovers 3). Points scored by the defense and 4). TOP (which is also a reflection of the offense)...The ravens last year gave up SEVEN more points than the Steelers defense (what you don't realize is that when you look up scoring defense, that also includes points scored on special teams, and offensive turnovers- i.e. a pick 6 or fumble returned for td....I subtracted these points since it has nothing to do with defense)..
But on the other hand, the ravens DEFENSE scored 3 more TDs (thanks to Ed Reed), therefore, from a point standpoint, the Ravens get the edge..Now turnovers....The Ravens were number 1 in the league last year in turnovers...the steelers were NINTH (thanks in part to Reed being better than Polamalu).. I already mentioned TOP, and the ravens were number 1, so unless you can somehow prove that giving up a few less yards makes a defense better when i have proven it does nothing towards winning...
except help your offense be on the field more (which is a moot point since the ravens offense was on the field more than any other in the league) then I'd say the Ravens were the better defense even LAST YEAR (to compare the steelers to the 08 defense is just a joke...the ravens 06 defense was better than the steelers 08 defense too)...And this was with the Ravens losing their starting SS, DT, and CB for the year, as well as several other players for a number of games.
All Free Safties have more ints than Strong safties.
Compare tackles, naturally SS have more tackles than FS do.
As for the Hawks SB, Jackson pushed off clerly and Haggins got hooked to the ground, the hasselbeck low blck call was post poss and Ben TD was on 3rd not 4th down and he moved it much closer than it was.
That Ed can cover oneon one as a FS menas shit, he ahs the physique for it, SS don't have it but Troy can still do it.
its funny that you want to make the distinction between free and strong safeties, apparently unaware that Reed DID play SS his FIRST THREE years in the league...In those THREE years, he had SIGNIFICANTLY MORE INTs THAN POLAMALU HAS HAD FOR HIS ENTIRE CAREER! Reed had 21 INTs in three seasons (5 INTs, 7 INTs, 9 INTs respectively, including 1 DPOY season), naturally you'd just think that he was more of a cover-oriented SS (if that's possible), except for the minor detail that Reed was better.....
..than Polamalu AT EVERY OTHER STATISTICAL CATEGORY (despite the fact that Polamalu plays in the box more than ANY safety...and still managed FIFTY less tackles than Gibril Wilson)..This comparison is a joke...And Reed's last three seasons in terms of INTs were 5,7, and 9....the SAME as his only three seasons playing SS...While this is mostly due to the fact that qbs avoiding throwing towards Reed more so than just about any player in history, Reed proved that if your good, u can get INTs at SS.
The reason Troy gets talked about is because he plays for one of the league's most profitable teams, this is absolutely undeniable...You think Tony Romo gets talked about so much because he's really good? Are you REALLY this delusional? If Romo were on the Ravens he would NEVER get talked about...Its the same reason Espn refused to EVEN REPORT the roethlisberger rape case (until they got a ton of shit for it), they have to protect the team that makes them the most money.
And half the time it's because he's getting beat...And how many times do I have to say it, Reed doesn't play in the box, OBVIOUSLY the only time you would hear his name is if he gets beat (which never happens) or he gets an INT or PD (and teams NEVER throw towards him so it's harder for him to get those than anyone...yet he STILL DOES)..Polamalu sucks in coverage so teams are not only willing to throw in his direction, THEY ACTIVELY TARGET HIM..And once again, when Reed played SS, he was....
better at EVERYTHING...There is NOTHING you can say to this, except "WOW, Troy Polamalu is an absolute joke in comparison and is incredibly overrated because he plays for the most profitable or second most profitable team in the league."That's it..That's the only thing you can say..You can talk about hwo Polamalu gets tackles, but Reed GOT MORE..You can talk about how Polamalu's all over the field, but then why was Reed better AT EVERYTHING..You can bitch all you want, but the truth is the truth
You pay closer attention to Ravens games then Steelers games and visa versa for me but I don't know how many times a tipped ball has Troy flying up out of nowhere to almost pick it or how many times he comes out of no where to either make or almost make a pick by jumping in front of WR or running down a player the rest of the D has ben beaten by.
Take a survey of the casual fans and ask them to tell you who Ed Reed or Troy Polamalu are and I bet you they know Troy over Reed.
First of all, that's the point of this whole thing. Polamalu gets WAY overrated because he plays on the most profitable team in the league THAT is why he gets talked about on ESPN and NFL N WAY more than he should, the networks are feeding their fanbases. And as a matter of fact, as overrated as Polamalu is,espn DID ask who was better, with Reed winning slightly (had the casual fan watched both of them play, it would be a massacre). But what's more important, and a more educated poll is when...
they ask the players who play against him..In a survey of only AFC North players (with the same number of players polled from each team, without being able to vote for a teammate) Reed was named the BEST player in the AFC North...with TWICE as many votes as the next player! Oh, and in the most recent SI players poll, they asked who the most dominant defensive player in the league was, and Reed finished second (behind Haynesworth) and Polamalu wasn't top 5, and probably wasn't top 10 either!
Yohave to understand that The Steelers are hated by the rest of the NFL which is why their great plyers never get their due.
Steelers Nation keeps other teams from being blacked out i their local cities and actually gets loud enough at certain ends of aways games the home team has to use a silent count.
Other teams players resent that and aren't going to give any more credit than already exsist to a QB the can't tackle, a WR who blocks their ass and a Safety who drops them in the backfield.
What year was this poll and what is your link or source.
The ESPN reference was one guy who based it on Reed getting it in the endzone just before the 08 AFC title game where it was Troy who ended up doing just that.
do I know what slang is? yes, you moron I know what slang is. Slang isn't putting three random thoughts in the same sentence without punctuation. "ed reed hardest hitter never hardest hitter in league is literally Roy Williams." Not one word in that post is slang. All the post proves is that you dont know what the word "literally" means. Why is the hardest hitter "literally" Roy Williams? lol you have no idea what your even saying, stay the fuck in school....seriously.
matter of fact i see im not talkin to someone in highschool so mb nvm on that but ye slang is used diff now but anyway ed reed is not even invovled in run def so he cant be the hardest hitter
AHAHAHAHA Ed Reed can't tackle worth shit and you're trying to convince people he's "the hardest hitting safety"....key word TRYING....I'd be surprised if anyone else believed this, even Raven fans aren't dumb enough to go as far as saying he's the hardest hitting safety. You should watch more games bud and you'll soon find out how dumb you truly are for ever making this video.
good god why are you so obsessed with ed reed? Oh wait, I know, you want to see how a safety is supposed to be able to cover and see a safety who isn't too much of a pussy to hit everyone in their ankle after watching the caveman for years. So where's that video about how hard Polamalu hits? hahaha oh that's right, they don't exist, because people literally can't find ONE hard Polamalu hit. 6 years in the NFL, 6 years of being a pussy. Get off Ed Reed's dick you jealous faggot.
yeah did your on some shit if you think polamalu is better than reed. for 1 reed has the longest interception return in nfl history, most inception return yards in a single season in nfl history, most interceptions by a fs in nfl history, where are polamalu's records?
ed reed can hit but when you compare him to people like Brian Dawkins Polamalu john lynch bob sanders they make him look like a fool and thats no disrespect hes just more of a pass coverage guy look at how many interceptions his had and returned for TDs
Umm, find one hard Polamalu hit....Clearly you don't watch both players play, and just go off what the media says....Seriously, go find ONE hard polamalu hit.
yeah Ed Reed can hit, but he's not the hardest hitting safety. I would say Brian Dawkins. Altogether from 2003 to now Polamalu has 438 Tackles (332 solo). Ed Reed from 2003 to Now, has only 328 (272 Solo). Polamalu has 7 sacks. Ed Reed with 4. Ed Reed is better at coverage statistically, but i think Troy is more Dependable, and a bigger play maker.
Polamalu has more tackles in that time because Reed switched to Free safety. He is the only safety in the league who will occasionally line up 20 yards downfield, of course he wouldn't get a lot of tackles, bc he doesn't give up completions like Polamalu (half of Polamalu's tackles on Thursday came on the guy he gave up a completion to...his tackles are a bad thing). Polamalu plays closer to the LOS than any safety in the league. Thats why the comparison was when they played the same position.
not only is reed better than homomalu but our defense is better overall, just because one guy is hurt doesn't mean we fall apart, have fun steelers, you basically gave away your best receiver, ur qb is a rapist and no improvements on D

Go cry you little bitch. Damn I'm a loser because I made a 4 minute video about someone! I guess the makers of 50 million other highlight videos on youtube are losers too. I guess you're a loser for watching it, and I guess you're a loser for just watching the Polamalu video and favoriting it! I'm sorry your favorite.....

god bless u 4 making this vid n the music is nasty....troy is good no doubt but u dont put him in the same category as ed reed...reed was a monster at tackling b4 his neck injury i remember the commentators saying his necks been bothering him in games last yr. to me ed reed is god of the secondary

ed reed is a beast
Tap0utz 2 years ago
Ed reed has a year on polamalu and since polamalu is able to get 96 tackles / year he could easily pass ed reed in stats.
wright0340 2 years ago
Yeah that sounds great in theory if not for the fact that a). that still leaves polamalu worse at EVERY OTHER statistical category and quite possibly even tackles too, and b). Polamalu's tackles have GONE DOWN every single year since he has been a starter (not counting when he only played 11 games)! But yet another great argument!
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
did reed play any kind of reciever / back? cause it seems like he reads good and runs hard with the ball

ccoolahan14 2 years ago
who's better Ed Reed , or Brian Dawkins? im not sure how many years Dawkins has been in the NFL though so dont get at me for their years Pro being alotta time spread apart.
This is mostly a Opinion question though.
chrismmmlll 2 years ago
Definitely Reed right now, but as far as careers go I'd say Reed but its close. An argument could definitely be made for Dawkins, unlike Polamalu which is a joke. Dawkins has been in the league longer and is a definite hall of famer, if your from Philly you say Dawkins, if your from Bmore you say Reed. I will say that in his prime I think Dawkins could hit harder than Reed however, but I'd give the edge overall to Reed.
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
type in Hines Ward jacks up ed reed. I pissed myself.
wright0340 2 years ago
I don't need to see Hines Ward literally HIDING from Ed Reed bc he's so scared to hit someone when he's looking (explain what he is doing with Ronnie Prude #27....undeniably he is HIDING), then waiting till he is absolutely sure Reed isn't looking at him bc he knows he wil get destroyed, then hitting him helmet to helmet to know that Hines Ward is a huge pussy.go to google videos and type in "cedric benson troy polamalu" then under related videos click the first video on the left.i pissed myself
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
Plus I actually just watched your video and I can't believe you are trying to tell me the same exact shit you put in your video. Just get over it people change even if he was better at those stats you need to take things into consideration. Maybe they had a good day, maybe the other team played good/bad that day and ect.
wright0340 2 years ago
yup, ed reed just "had a good day" every single sunday for three straight years, and Polamalu has just "had a bad day" every sunday for his entire career right? makes sense...
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
I'm not embarrassed I think it's hilarious how you are some retard who can't remember football is just a fucking sport and you don't need to debate it like you are on a goddamn trial. Troy makes plays as does ed reed they are both good you don't need to keep bitching.

wright0340 2 years ago
haha you know the SBs don't count and you can't come up with a response! Seriously, you're doing really well in this argument! Unless you feel like proving that the 70s steelers weren't on steroids (good luck), than they don't count. Here I'll fix it for you- " 6 super bowls* "
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
6 superbowls
wright0340 2 years ago
oh thats funny I thought you were going to stop posting? And when 4 are a direct result of steroid use and the other 2 are a direct result of the refs handing the trophy to the team that makes the nfl the most money, that means zero legitimate super bowls...As an NFL executive said in response to someone pointing out how bad the refs were in Ravens-steelers II, "We'll sell more T-shirts if the steelers win the division." Sounds fair....

there we go. Another steeler "fan" (worst fans in sports) gets educated. I'm sorry Troy can't compare I really am. If he was even semi close than there could be actual debate, rather than me making you look like an absolute idiot making you run away.
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
zzzz hop off ed reed's dick Coolahan ravens fans will say ed reed and steelers fans will say polamalu and smart ravens fans will say polamalu. it's not worth arguing with you because you can't seem to comprehend that they are 2 completely different spots in a game and things change even if they did play the same spot for x amount of time..
wright0340 2 years ago
ha I guess thats the argument you come up with when there's literally no argument you can make. If a player has proven to be better at literally EVERYTHING maybe you should just accept the fact that he's better. And yes, the least knowledgeable fans in the league will say Polamalu is better, but why ask morons when you can ask the unbiased players who play against him. In a AFC North player survey, Ed Reed was voted the best player in the division, with TWICE as many votes as the second best....
ccoolahan14 2 years ago

And if I asked Joe Flacco who was better I guarantee he would say Ed Reed you moron. he's going to say Polamalu is better because he caught a pass thrown RIGHT TO HIM? Are you retarded? Wanna feel even dumber? In Ed Reed's THREE seasons playing the SAME position as Polamalu (SS), he has significantly MORE INTs than Polamalu has IN HIS ENTIRE SEVEN YEAR CAREER (21- 18)...Oh, and here's another opportunity to feel dumb...Ed Reed was better at EVERY SINGLE STAT on a....
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
..PER GAME BASIS also...So that means IT DOESNT MATTER THAT POLAMALU'S AN INJURY PRONE LITTLE BITCH, because Ed Reed is STILL better at EVERYTHING when comparing them on a PER GAME basis when playing the same position.

word, polamalu is sick, but lets be real, is there anyone better than ed reed?
cbt826 2 years ago
Ok for this R=Reed and P=Polamalu
Tackles p=438 r=427
Solo p=332 r=356
Sacks p=7 r=5
INTS p=18 r=45
TD p=1 r=6
And dont get me started on how many Records Reed has....compared to......none of polamalu.
I dont see how this is even a question anymore........Stats show reed has more solo tackles than your LB/SS/Bullshit, and blows him away in scoring, and INTS.
REED~!
Rigorserpent 2 years ago
WOW somones trying to defend Polamalu a little too hard.
Reed doesnt need no one to defend him, hes the greatest of all time. But for shits and giggles, lets ACTUALLY look at the stats and compare the two.
Rigorserpent 2 years ago
Oh yeah just as a sie bar, in the 2008 Title game Ward's first catch where he ran for bi yds was a diuble cover by the Corner and Reed and Reed gets knocked to the ground as Ward takes off then when Reed get up Reed is running in front of Ward instead of turning around and making the tackle.
It at the begining of the Hines Ward talks Trash video from the back angle.
HinesXL 2 years ago
again, Ed Reed was in PERFECT position on that play...It was a good throw..You make Roethlisberger throw that pass 10 times, it's either getting picked off or incomplete 9 times, he put it right where the defense couldn't defend it despite perfect coverage..And again, Reed was getting BLOCKED after the catch, I don't understand your obsession with the most trivial aspects of a play...And for the record, I DO watch just about every steeler game, including every game this year.
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
Don't insult Ben now, he throws perfect passes all the time
I just happend to look for Reed more now in some Pitt Highlights since this convo strated.
Props to Reed in the 2nd reg season game vs Pitt in Baltimore for coming up and stripping Holmes of teh ball on the salnt from inside the 10 yd line.
It appeared as if Holmes was breaking the tackles and about to go 90 + yds.
Holmes caught that same play from Batch in the 2007 closer and took it the distance but I don't know if Reed played.
HinesXL 2 years ago
why are you sending me videos? I don't think you realize yet, NO ONE wants to see completely average tackles or one of Polamalu's 18 career INTs (less than THREE per season!)...Unless you can somehow disprove the fact that when they played the same position (Reed's FIRST three seasons vs Polamalu's entire 6 year career) that Reed was better AT EVERYTHING (yes, better at getting tackles, sacks, FRs, FFs, 1.5 x as many PDs, 2.5 x as many INTs, 10x as many return yards, 10 x as many TDs) or show...
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
some hard hits to disprove the fact that Polamalu's terrified of hitting high after getting ran over (and concussed) by Cedric Benson NO ONE CARES...Seriously, I watched the Titans game, I don't need to watch a video. I'm sure it doesn't include the THREE personal fouls, or the three completions he gave up...The comparison is a JOKE (just ask the players who play against him)...Polamalu's not better at ANYTHING! There's NOTHING you can say to this, Reed is WAY better than Polamalu..end of story.
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
You think Reed is better in runs support, even when he was a SS? Check in to a clinic and tell him all about it.
HinesXL 2 years ago
When he played SS yes, he was DEFINITELY better. What exactly are you basing your opinion of him in run support as a SS off of? I KNOW you don't remember his run support FOUR YEARS ago...So let's see, that means your basing it off of his run support NOW, when he is the ONLY safety in the league who will line up 25 yards downfield, and when he is playing with a CAREER THREATENING neck injury and he has to GRAB people with his hands bc he cant hit anyone with his shoulder anymore...
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
Polamalu LITERALLY misses more tackles than anyone in the league...Oh, and you wanted to declare Polamalu's Titans game the greatest ever (when if you look at it objectively it was nothing more than AVERAGE), how bout Reed today- 6 solo tackles, 1 INT, 60 return yards, 1 TD, and 1 FF that the Ravens recovered and saved a TD/FG, oh, and maybe the most important part, 0 completions allowed (troy seems to always suck at that last one).
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
I wasn't sayng Troy's Tenn game was best ever just that it was was a great first half.
He had a deep one haned int, a stop of Johnson in the backfield on a run and for no gain on a swing out pass, was the only one to run him down later when Troy saved the TD and a pass defensed.
Reed has played 22 more games than Troy, a season and a half.
Props to Ed on his pick 6 today, I thought about you when I saw the highlight, LOL!
At this rate he could catch Woodson for all time pick returns for TDs.
HinesXL 2 years ago
Have you seen the play on the play vs Cleveland where I beleive Edwards catches a ball on a CB or LB and breaks a tackle and is running alone down the sideline at full speed and Troy comes flying from the other side of the field and runs him down?
Or the 2 stops in the AFC Title game of 2005 vs Denver when he comes 20 yds away to drop the RB behind the line on the swing out pass and prevents a first down after being blocked and still fighting towards the runner or his multible one handed picks?
HinesXL 2 years ago
what does this have to do with ANYTHING? You can't think of a single hard Polamalu hit so you have to come up with THIS?haha I've seen the Denver play, Polamalu GOT BLOCKED INTO THE TACKLE..Serioulsy, the more you talk the more desperate you look....Polamalu is a joke in comparison but you're making it A LOT worse for the guy..here we are looking at tons of HUGE ed Reed hits (and theres TONS more that I couldn't put in the vid)and you're talking about when Polamalu got blocked into a RB's ankle?
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
As a Ravens fan you see EVERY Ravens game where as I see only a few but I see Every Steelers game.
We watch out teams closley and remember things others who aren't big fans wouldn't remember.
Without insulting Reed, and I wasn't I was merely pointing out human error, I've seen Troy since 03 do incredible things week in and week out.
Sure he gambles, so did Rod Woodson at CB for Pitt but he mad tons of big plays too.
I have a close Steelers friend to this day that says Rod was overrated.
HinesXL 2 years ago
Woodson was a College Safety Pitt drafted for CB and he was a great corner but he had Saftey instincs and bit on pumps and play action too much but also made big plays when he was right.
When he went Safety for you guys he got better.
Even though Troy played Safety in college, I feel like he's in a LB's body and would be a sick sideline to sideline 4-3 Outside LB who would have great backside pursuit, awesome Zone coverage, the question is could he shed bocks, I think he could.

You are taught in Pee Wee and Pop Warner to tackle at the legs.
There are planty of hits above the wasit by Troy too, remeber the one that knocked his helment off?
HinesXL 2 years ago
hahahah you mean the one where he got KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT (literally)? hahaha this seriously qualifies as a hard Troy Polamalu hit? How desperate are you? (really desperate, I've seen the guy play for 6 years...that was more rhetorical). That was seriously the ONE time Polamalu didn't hit someone in the ankle who had a full head of steam and he got knocked the eff out...No wonder he's too scared to tackle high.
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
Do you agree Troy's pefromance in the 08 AFC Title game was great?
It that game alone he dropped Magahee and Flaco behind the line of scrimmage.
Jumped over the top to hold Flaco up on 4th down long enough to get extra help and interecepted and returned for a TD a late 4th quarter pass.
The reason I ask is I see Troy have games similar to this alot the other one that comes to mind is the 05 AFC title game and the first half of the 09 opener.
They call Troy the Missle.
HinesXL 2 years ago
I'm not really sure the point of this question...I guess he played okay, although him jumping over the pile on the flacco sneak was WAY overblown, bc the only reason Flacco was stopped was bc he had nowhere to move, not bc one guy is grabbing his head. If that were the only thing in his way, Flacco would have gotten the first with ease. Shockingly (sarcasm) CBS somehow failed to mention the fact that Polamalu did the same thing on the McGahee TD (dive over the top), and as a result of him...
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
completely out of position, McGahee was able to score easily...Would you trade a fourth down stop which he wasn't even responsible for for a TD allowed? And as for the pick, it was thrown RIGHT TO HIM, literally ANY safety in the league makes that pick...If were going to talk about individual games, how bout in 06 with the steelers playoff hopes on the line, Polamalu getting ABSOLUTELY BURNED for TWO long TDs, while Reed had a pick he returned 50 yards (Hines tried to hit him, and couldn't.....
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
even TOUCH him), returned a fumble at the goal line thirty yards, PANCAKED Heath Miller (who outweighs him by FIFTY pounds) to help Dawan Landry score on an INT (Hines Ward got absolutely KILLED by Bart Scott on the play as well), among many other things to help the Ravens win by 24.
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
It's not I haven't seen Ed Reed out of position vs Pittsburgh.
The regular deason game in 08 in Pittsburgh on Monday night in the 4th quarter, Hlomes out a move on both safties for a TD and in the 08 Title game Holmes cut back right towards Reed's middle and Reed was getting blocked down the sideline as Holmes scored.
Safties don't really get burned IMO like a CB becasue they are taking chances and gambeling so often, it's give and take.
HinesXL 2 years ago
Not to mention the 2nd TD pass of the 2007 reg season game to Hlomes was right in front of Reed.
HinesXL 2 years ago
haha on BOTH tds allowed, Polamalu was in ONE on ONE coverage (trust me it was BAD).. Second of all, your examples of Reed being "out of postion" are absolutely pathetic (seriously, have you ever seen these plays?) your first example (Holmes on MNF)- FABIAN WASHINGTON was in coverage on a short slant, Ed Reed slipped at about the 10 yard line on the worst field in the league (while not in coverage), this qualifies as being out of position? lol..Second example (holmes in AFCC)- again, Fabian....
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
Washington was in coverage (he slipped on the worst field in the league), Holmes then had the ENTIRE FIELD with A BLOCKER IN FRONT OF HIM and this somehow qualifies as Reed being out of position? ARE YOU SERIOUS? 3rd example- don't remember it, and based on how terrible your other examples are I'm going to just assume Ed Reed had absolutley nothing to do with it and its just yet another example of someone desperately trying to think of a time Reed was "out of position" when there are seriously..
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
FIFTY examples of Polamalu out of position and giving up TDs..Another one for you just bc he's a joke in comparison and you deserve it for your pathetic attempts to try to make Reed look bad- Joe Flacco's first TD (on youtube)-Polamalu bites WAY too hard on the playaction fake, tries to get back in cover his man (in one on one coverage again), only thing is, he's WAY too late..Easy TD, Polamalu gives up YET ANOTHER TD..Similar play against the colts last year, bites WAY too hard on PA, TD colts.
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
ed reed is amazing, no doubt about it.

74 Pitt were the only D to shutout the O in a SB.
00 Bal only gave up a kick return but an
EX point is classified as O not special teams just like the FG that Dallas only gave up in 71.
Bigbadben7 2 years ago
You can watch an entire half of a Ravens game and even the whole game every now and then and not hear Ed Reed's name, just like the AFC title game last year.
If the QB chooses not to go in an area he's in then he won't make plays.
You can not gor more than 1 or 2 plays in th the first Defensive series if that without hearing Troy Polamalu's name.
He is always around the ball, he's more than a Great Safety he's a great Football player.
HinesXL 2 years ago
Yeah, definitely. Except for the biggest game of his life. Actually I do remember hearing Polamalu's name in that game, it was on the (at the very least) three missed tackles he had and the TD allowed....his stat line- 0 tackles, 0 sacks, 0 FFs, 0 FRs, 0 INTs, at least 3 missed tackles, 1 TD allowed, and 1 PD, thanks for playing Troy! You wanna know how a player's overrated? When his team would literally have been better off had he not played at all..When Reed's not putting up stats, its....
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
bc he's completely locking down the deep portion of the field, and qbs look at him before throwing away from him (Reed no longer plays in the box, so this HAS to be the only way you can hear from him...though when he did play in the box like Polamalu, he was better than Polamalu AT EVERY SINGLE STAT)..On the other hand, not only does Polamalu play on or near the LOS more than any safety, he is also ACTIVELY TARGETED by opposing qbs when in coverage (HALF of Troy's stats vs the Titans came on....
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
completions that Polamalu ALLOWED.....this is not a good thing....but of course the media would only talk about how he would make an easy tackle, ON THE GUY HE GAVE THE COMPLETION UP TO)
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
Super Bowls won by Ravens just before Reed, One, since Reed ZERO!
Steelers since 79 before Polamlu Zero SBs, since Troy, Two!
Troy doesn't give up completions unless he's playing slot or as a LB in the zone and he doen't make those tackles becasue he's going for the ball, he makes tackles on guys who made catches on the CB or LBs when he comes up from the safety spot.
In Nickle packages they will actually put a CB at SS while Troy plays one on one.
Bigbadben7 2 years ago
Sweet argument, the Patriots third string guard from 2001-2004 is better than Polamalu! And if Ed Reed is literally better than Polamalu AT EVERYTHING than I think it's safe to say that if Reed didn't have Kyle Boller at qb for half his years and the refs in his back pocket, giving his team every call in every major game bc his team makes the most money for the league, that Reed would have a SB too...Vs. Titans, troy was playing man on Ahmard Hall, gave up the completion when any other safety...
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
wouldn't have, then made the tackle for a 4 yard gain and was praised by the announcers for tackling a FULLBACK with his back towards Polamalu on a completion which shouldn't have been....Later, Ike Taylor passes off receiver running a deep post, bc he's in Polamalu's zone...Polamalu is WAY late getting there, allowing a twenty something yard completion and makes the easy tackle...Can't remember the third completion he gave up, but it was obviously pathetic (we are talking about Polamalu here)..
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
Troy has admitted he some times gambles and loses but he also makes many game changing plays as does ED but Troy makes the little plays al game long.
You are bring up individual failures as if I haen't seen Reed out o position.
Where was he when Holmes went 65 yds across his midddle?
You're going to bring up the Refs for Pittsburgh but then mention NE who's all 3 rings are Spygate releated according to Roger Goodell's admission to Senator Arlen Spector that the tapes went back to 2000.
HinesXL 2 years ago
are we talking about the Patriots? Obviously ravens fans would know better than anyone that both the steelers and patriots are handed games by the refs because they are two of the most profitable teams for the NFL...Case in point was the game TWO days ago, where the refs hand the patriots the game, the ravens say the refs handed the patriots the game, and the league doesnt even fine the ravens for saying that because the evidence is obvious that the patriots got all the calls.
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
I can name two Free Safties right now that are mentioned in the same breath as Reed, Bob Sanders and Brian Dawkins.
I can't tink of one Strong Safety that anyone puts on the same level as Polamalu today.
HinesXL 2 years ago
great, thanks for proving once and for all that you don't know what you're talking about. Reed was the ONLY UNANIMOUS ALL-PRO LAST YEAR...in case you cant...
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
understand that, that means he is the ONLY player in the entire NFL who EVERY sportswriter who voted says was THE SINGLE BEST at his position...People argued against Peyton Manning, people argued against Adrian Peterson, people argued against Troy Polamalu, NO ONE argued against Ed Reed...I'd say that pretty much kills your argument.
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
Bob Sanders is not a Strong Saftey, he is a Free safety look it up.
Reed had alot of Picks in 2008 with great returns and that always impresses voters and the All Pro team is picked by the Associated Press so who gives a shit, they can't even get College rankings right.
HinesXL 2 years ago
Bob Sanders is a strong safety, who will occasionally play games at FS...google "bob sanders strong safety" if you want..And is it a bad thing that Reed had a lot of picks with great returns? Reed last year had MORE return yards than Polamalu has had FOR HIS ENTIRE CAREER..A free safety's job is to cover the deep ball (reed does it better than anyone) and force turnovers when possible (reed does it better than anyone) therefore you're basically admitting that he was picked bc he does what...
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
every FS is supposed to do, but Reed does it significantly better, therefore making him the unquestioned best player in the league at his position..Polamalu had FIFTY less tackles than Gibril Wilson last year, playing the same position..Its definitely tough to argue that Polamalu's the unanimous best in the league at SS, bc he doesnt do his job significantly better than others.

Bigbadben7 2 years ago
don't act like Dilfer was good because he made a pro bowl (so did Derek Anderson). And the Ravens played the number 2, number 3, number 10 and number 13 offenses in the playoffs..
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
their offensive competition was just as good, if not better than the Steelers playoff competition, and they played three of these games ON THE ROAD (including SB...and the ravens D always plays much better at home). Steelers gave up nearly FOUR TIMES as many points in LESS games, with 2 out of their three games at home..Once again, there is no comparison..If the 06 ravens had won the SB there would be absolutely no comparison to that defense either.
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
I have defended 2000 Ravens D against 85 Bears.
Bigbadben7 2 years ago
When Reed picks off a pass deep he has the entire Defense in front of him to st up blocks and he is naturally a good open field runner which is why they've had him retrun kicks.
Polamalu is like a LB playing safety.
HinesXL 2 years ago
haha THAT is your argument? It's just simply PATHETIC...Just admit that Reed is better than Polamalu..THERE WASN'T ONE THING HE WAS BETTER AT than Reed when playing the same position...Oh, and if Reed plays centerfield and has the whole defense to set up blocks, THAN WHY THE FUCK DID HE SET THE ALL-TIME RETURN record as a STRONG safety? And if Polamalu is like a LB playing safety than a). Why, in 6 years does he not have ONE hard hit, and b). why did Ed Reed have MORE TACKLES than him when...
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
playing SS, despite the fact that Polamalu was in the box WAY MORE OFTEN? Polamalu is a JOKE in comparison, there's no other way around it.
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
and as for the "he's more than a great safety he's a great football player" comment....you might not realize this, BUT SAFETIES ARE FOOTBALL PLAYERS...If someone's a great safety, they would therefore HAVE to be a great football player as well, but hey, when your desperate, these are the types of statements that are made.
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
Dude, It's very easy to contain ED Reed, just watch where he's going and look him off or pump it his way.
You can't do that with Troy, you never know wheere he is going to be.
Troy spent most of SB XLIII doubling Fitzgerald until Cards started No Huddleing in the 4th and Lebeau ahd the safteys too far off.
What the hell did Reed do vs Pittsburgh with the SB on the line?
Troy owned that game.
In one half vs Tenn this year Troy had 6 tackles, a defensed pass and a one handed pick.
HinesXL 2 years ago
Anyways as has been said, Troy is a Strong Saftey, and the best Strong Saftey and Strong Safties have more responsibiliites than Free safities.
So a dominate SS is a better Football player than a dominate FS.
If Ed wants to be close to Troy maybe Polamalu will let him kiss his two Rings.
HinesXL 2 years ago
two rings* that were handed to them by the refs. But anyway, thats a sweet argument, Troy can kiss the Patriots third string guard from 2001-2004 rings'! And Ed Reed plays Free safety you moron, HE GOES TO WHERE THE BALL IS or where he thinks hes going, which is obviously a WAY less predictable position than Polamalu when he plays MAN coverage a third of the time, and the other two thirds he's doing the exact same thing as Reed..And teams do know where Polamalu is in coverage, then they throw...
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
DIRECTLY AT HIM because he sucks in coverage...And it's so pathetic that apparently the best game half of Polamalu's career (titans) according to Steelers "fans" (least knowledgeable in the league) was average AT BEST...He allowed three completions totaling about 45 yards (where HALF his tackles came from...this means he's BAD not good), had TWO personal foul penalties totaling 30 yards...thats SEVENTY FIVE YARDS allowed by Polamalu alone, oh, but he had a nice INT on a play where he was badly..
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
beaten but the ball was 10 yards underthrown....Thanks for proving how overrated Polamalu is.

Since Reed arrived Baltimore ahs ahd the # 1 D once, 2006,
Since Troy Pitt has been # 1 three times in 5 years and two in a row, 2004, '07, '08.
Baltimore has won 0 SBs since Reed, Pitt has won two since Troy.
You guys had Suggs, Scott and Ray along w/ Reeed and still couldn't be # 1 D more or win SBs more since Ed and Troy both arrived.
Bigbadben7 2 years ago
Again, I'm not going to start talking about how the refs give the steelers the game bc they are the most profitable team for the NFL (heck, you can go look at the ENTIRE WIKIPEDIA PAGE DEDICATED TO HOW THE REFS HANDED THE STEELERS THE SB against the seahawks)....And once again, unless you can prove ONE area where Polamalu was better than Reed at when playing the same position, THAN WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE WHERE THE DEFENSE RANKED? Reed was better at EVERYTHING and as bad as Reed shit on....
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
Polamalu statistically, the difference between Reed and Polamalu gets even more embarrassing when considering the non-statistical factors, including the most important part about being a safety- NOT GETTING BEAT FOR TDs....That's something that happens to Polamalu ALL THE TIME..I can think of THREE TDs allowed by Polamalu against the Ravens ALONE in the last three years alone...Including TWO IN ONE GAME...in ONE ON ONE COVERAGE...And of course you failed to mention the fact that in 2007, the...

ccoolahan14 2 years ago
but this is all Ed Reed's fault right? Pitt D in 08 was first D since 91 to finish
1st, 1st, 1st and 2nd in all major categories.

2008 Steeelrs are the only Defense to ever finish as high as # 1 in 3 major categories while finishing as high as # 2 in the other.
They were # 1 in Total D, vs Pass and Points given and # 2 vs Rush.
85 Bears # 1 vs rush, total D and poits given but # 3 vs Pass.
2000 Ravens # 1 vs Rush and Poits given but # 8 vs pass and 2nd in total D,
2002 Bucs # 1 in total D, vs Pass and points given but # 5 vs Rush.
Only 2008 Steelers went 1,1,1, and 2
Bigbadben7 2 years ago
first of all, you're not seriously going to compare the ravens 2000 defense with the 2008 steelers defense...The Ravens 2000 defense GAVE UP LESS POINTS IN TWENTY GAMES (including the playoffs against the best teams in the league) THAN THE STEELERS DID IN TWELVE! thats the end of the discussion. Oh, and that was with the WORST offense to ever win a super bowl (the offense went FIVE STRAIGHT GAMES without a TD)..They gave up an AVERAGE of FOUR points/game in the FOUR PLAYOFF GAMES...
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
..the steelers 08 defense gave up SIXTY-ONE POINTS IN THREE playoff games (vs SIXTEEN points in FOUR playoff games for the Ravens)...And I guess what you don't realize is that YARDS really don't matter...What difference does it make if you give up yards but not points? The only way it would matter is if the offense never got the ball bc of it, but guess what? The ravens LAST YEAR were NUMBER 1 in time of possession! the only comparison that matters is how much a defense helps a team win...
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
therefore, the most important stats are 1). Points allowed 2). Turnovers 3). Points scored by the defense and 4). TOP (which is also a reflection of the offense)...The ravens last year gave up SEVEN more points than the Steelers defense (what you don't realize is that when you look up scoring defense, that also includes points scored on special teams, and offensive turnovers- i.e. a pick 6 or fumble returned for td....I subtracted these points since it has nothing to do with defense)..
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
But on the other hand, the ravens DEFENSE scored 3 more TDs (thanks to Ed Reed), therefore, from a point standpoint, the Ravens get the edge..Now turnovers....The Ravens were number 1 in the league last year in turnovers...the steelers were NINTH (thanks in part to Reed being better than Polamalu).. I already mentioned TOP, and the ravens were number 1, so unless you can somehow prove that giving up a few less yards makes a defense better when i have proven it does nothing towards winning...
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
except help your offense be on the field more (which is a moot point since the ravens offense was on the field more than any other in the league) then I'd say the Ravens were the better defense even LAST YEAR (to compare the steelers to the 08 defense is just a joke...the ravens 06 defense was better than the steelers 08 defense too)...And this was with the Ravens losing their starting SS, DT, and CB for the year, as well as several other players for a number of games.
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
All Free Safties have more ints than Strong safties.
Compare tackles, naturally SS have more tackles than FS do.
As for the Hawks SB, Jackson pushed off clerly and Haggins got hooked to the ground, the hasselbeck low blck call was post poss and Ben TD was on 3rd not 4th down and he moved it much closer than it was.
That Ed can cover oneon one as a FS menas shit, he ahs the physique for it, SS don't have it but Troy can still do it.
Freakin Corners come in for injured Free Safties.
Bigbadben7 2 years ago
its funny that you want to make the distinction between free and strong safeties, apparently unaware that Reed DID play SS his FIRST THREE years in the league...In those THREE years, he had SIGNIFICANTLY MORE INTs THAN POLAMALU HAS HAD FOR HIS ENTIRE CAREER! Reed had 21 INTs in three seasons (5 INTs, 7 INTs, 9 INTs respectively, including 1 DPOY season), naturally you'd just think that he was more of a cover-oriented SS (if that's possible), except for the minor detail that Reed was better.....
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
..than Polamalu AT EVERY OTHER STATISTICAL CATEGORY (despite the fact that Polamalu plays in the box more than ANY safety...and still managed FIFTY less tackles than Gibril Wilson)..This comparison is a joke...And Reed's last three seasons in terms of INTs were 5,7, and 9....the SAME as his only three seasons playing SS...While this is mostly due to the fact that qbs avoiding throwing towards Reed more so than just about any player in history, Reed proved that if your good, u can get INTs at SS.
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
Dion Sanders is the guy QBs didn't throw towards, given he was a CB but you didn't make any distiction.
If Ed is so much better thant Troy then why did you make the video and why is this comparison made by many others besides us?
Where are the Ed Reed endorsments?
I don't see them, if he's so great then why isn't he al over TV representing the position.
Don't say because he hasn't won SBs because lots of Ringless stars get piad big time to promote products.
Bigbadben7 2 years ago
My bad, I got confused and thought this was a comparison video, I see it's just about ED so that answeres one of my questions.

How many NFL records does Polamalu hold?....lemme think.....NONE.
Hell Reed breaks his OWN records, because theres no competition.

Reed plays centerfield, Troy plays all over,

And half the time it's because he's getting beat...And how many times do I have to say it, Reed doesn't play in the box, OBVIOUSLY the only time you would hear his name is if he gets beat (which never happens) or he gets an INT or PD (and teams NEVER throw towards him so it's harder for him to get those than anyone...yet he STILL DOES)..Polamalu sucks in coverage so teams are not only willing to throw in his direction, THEY ACTIVELY TARGET HIM..And once again, when Reed played SS, he was....

HinesXL 2 years ago

Just because "fans" know you dont make you the best.
Reed BREAKS HIS OWN RECORDS, thats how much competition the furball is to him. LOL

Reed breaks his int return records becasue he is a great open field runner which is why he has returned kicks.
Troy could litterally play Inside or Outside LB if he wanted to as well as Free and Strong safety.

do I know what slang is? yes, you moron I know what slang is.

Get off Ed Reed's dick you jealous faggot.
ccoolahan14 2 years ago
yeah did your on some shit if you think polamalu is better than reed. for 1 reed has the longest interception return in nfl history, most inception return yards in a single season in nfl history, most interceptions by a fs in nfl history, where are polamalu's records?
gunitgang45 2 years ago
ed reed can hit but when you compare him to people like Brian Dawkins Polamalu john lynch bob sanders they make him look like a fool and thats no disrespect hes just more of a pass coverage guy look at how many interceptions his had and returned for TDs
tix24 2 years ago
Umm, find one hard Polamalu hit....Clearly you don't watch both players play, and just go off what the media says....Seriously, go find ONE hard polamalu hit.

I dont know how you can even argue the point. The stats dont lie. Reed>>>>Polamalu

reed has more heart than any player...u can tell he puts his heart in every play11and with a neck injury..

Yeah and Ed Reed was KNOCKED OUT by a wide receiver (Heinz Ward) ... give me a break ! He worships at Troy Polamalu's feet.
Vitadoc767 2 years ago
yeah Ed Reed can hit, but he's not the hardest hitting safety.
