I do like the new civics a bit, and they can be fast if you turbo or supercharge them. Honda needs to start turbocharging their cars, at least the Si's. An 00 also weighs 2500 pounds (1000!) and has a double wishbone suspension, not some big ass axle in the back. Roadrunner will lose...its a no brainer.

Although I love the SVT Contour it's 0-60 time is 6.8...barley faster then same year Civic Si (7.2) and Integra GS-R (7.0). Also the new Civic Si beats that SVT time with around 6.5. In fact the SVT Contour and Civic Si are both designed for the same thing. They are meant to be sporty and whip around the corners. They were never meant for 0-60.

@Chapstick050 Why? Because it's made in Japan? The 99' Contour SVT 0-60 is around 6.8 where as the 99' Civic Si is 7.2 and Integra GS-R is 7.0 and those could just be the driver. The new Civic Si is around 6.5. An SVT Focus is around 7.6. None of these cars were designed for 0-60 anyway. They are meant to be sporty and whip around the corners fast.

@RiceKiller191 Can you not read? I own a 99 C-SVT. That's a duratec, not vtec and its a 6-cyl not a 4-cyl. 3500 is not normal weight for a car by today's standards...its heavy. An 00' Civic with 127 hp does a 0-60 in 8 seconds so with a turbo depending on the boost id be in the low 6's or somewhere in the 5's. An 00 also weighs 2500 pounds (1000!) and has a double wishbone suspension, not some big ass axle in the back. Roadrunner will lose...its a no brainer.

I'm aware not all imports are rice....but in the US people think if you have some nice rims, a cat-back, or a carbon fiber hood that your automatically rice. They cant distinguish between a nice and clean import versus a stock civic with a HUGE aluminum wing. Civics especially get a bad rap which is a shame because there are a lot of very clean civics out there.

Obviously if it needs body work your spending more on looks) your a ricer. Not all cases, but a good 95% of them. Plus the kids nowadays give Civics a bad name. I personally don't like Civics, but don't necessarily have anything against them. If you have a Civic and you can beat My Car, than your OK in my book. They'd be Neutral.
