Michael Jackson did want to buy the rights to this film and intended on playing all the characters like tony randall did. I dont know why it didn't work out but the original letter m.j. sent to the owners of this movie to buy the copyright was up for sale on ebay and went for, like, 50 dollars.
yes one of the best bits in this amazing movie that nobody talks about--tony r-best picture--credit also to the writers and george pal--this is a scene to remember-to rid the cobwebs of a humdrum existance and to ask--whats next
Absolute genius-I only just found the title of this film-i saw it on tv as a kid and this scene stayed in my brain. Kind of hillarious too, nobody likes the truth
-I used to torment My Mother with this very scene, whenever it played on TV in Sydney! I'd turn the volume up & she'd seethe with Rage at My suggestion, that not only did she LOOK like Mrs Casson, she was as "Spiritual" as her! & Ma in her last dying breath was Spiteful to all around her...Art imitates Life...
My favorite scene, by far. It's so harsh. It seems cruel, but it's the hard truth. Lee Patrick's performance is perfect as is Tony Randall's. The great impact of this scene is that there are so many people like Mrs. Casson in real life. The deep truth of this scene always hurts my heart. What would it do to you to hear those horrible things? To know that your life makes NO difference?
I'm an expert on the Odd Couple, and I can tell you that WAS Tony Randall. He played Oscar Madison (the slob) on the Odd Couple; I know this because I've seen every episode twice.
Great character actress - Lee Patrick - she was Humphrey Bogart's blonde secretary in The Maltese Falcon. She went from playing sexy blondes to haughty society matrons!
Wow. Awesome. You can sure tell that Charles Beaumont, one of the writers of the original 'Twilight Zone' TV series, wrote this screenplay. THIS is the writing of a master.
Beautifully played scene. Just one gripe..you should have continued the scene for another 30 seconds when the woman, having learned nothing, continues her empty life of lies.

But at 0:36 she said "departed" not "dead." The book "The Circus Of Dr Lao" is good, too.

Many, many people deserve to hear this. Perhaps some hurt, some element of truth will awaken them to change for the better.

@oeng1967 The opener to "Teachers In Space". A rockin fuckin album in my opinion. The Feederz rock and Apollonius rocks.
