I have health insurance through my employer. I pay $250/month and my employer pays 350/month. That is 250+350)x12 = $7200 per year. That would be the savings with socialized medicine.

Your points are thin, to say the least. The Factcheck article, for one, mostly points out that it's not entirely clear what will happen as far as employers switching plans, but it also says that there will be no mandate for anyone to change plans.
I haven't read the Medicare article yet, but the AARP has been quite supportive of health care reform thus far, though they might not have given a formal endorsement, as there's no final bill to endorse yet.

I have health insurance through my employer. I pay $250/month and my employer pays 350/month. That is 250+350)x12 = $7200 per year. That would be the savings with socialized medicine.

ER costs 4 to 5 times regular clinic visit. Do you really want to keep the status quo? Ask any ER doctor.

My ancestors fought for freedom - when the Germans came they fought. After the government surrendered they took to the hills and kept fighting. The Germans dealt with partisans by killing all the civilians in the local villages. My Grandfather lost all but 2 brothers in that.
Another brother was killed after the war by commie partisans. We lost 27 family members there is a shrine in my grand fathers home town commemorating them.
I am proud of that - as I am proud of our self reliance.

It seems very strange to me that the same people who are against free health care are some of the same people who are eager to support the spending of billions to go overseas and kill millions of people for a bullshit war. This is madness. You are the ones who are creating fear with your bullshit historical comparisons. I do not hear the Canadians or the British citizens complaining to any large extent about their socialized health care system.

The British in particular are getting more and more upset by the lies about the NHS that are floating across the pond.
The British Conservatives, who support the NHS, are being hurt by their perceived connections to the Republicans.
The GOP might just save the election for the British Labour Party.

Why are people who already have so selfish? For those people who claim to be Christians, I remind you of your own Bible passage in Isaiah 10 verses 1 and 2. Free health care for poor people will not have any more affect on the rich aside from a few more taxes. Most of the rich can make up for these higher taxes somewhere else anyway. Let the poor at least have the option. You are always complaining about how the money sent abroad should be spent at home, well now is your chance to deliver.

tallysblakboi, that is the dumbest thing I've read all day. Healthcare is hugely expensive, and I know people who work near 70 hours a week and can't afford the treatments they need (and they're not overweight).

I did not like paying for the A.I.G. and General Motors bail outs, but no one asked the poor about their tax dollars being spent for that. As far as getting off my ass. I fought in Vietnam and worked since age 14 and the Government took my Social Security money and now that I am disabled your tax dollars have to pay for my free Medicare. I hope you don't think I should not get medicare because the Government spent what I paid into the system.

So a few people have to wait for free health care, and it's more because it was in California, the most liberal state, than anything. Not to mention all those people were probably too cheap to go out and pay their own way. All Obamacare would do for us is make ALL of us wait 4-8 hours for any treatment. Leftists keep referencing Canada and how great theirs is, fine go there and find out. I'm not saying that we can't change our health care for the better, but Obama's "Change" isn't the way to go.

I keep hearing how private insurers won't be able to compete with government-run healthcare, but If private business is so much more efficient and cost-effective than government-run-anything, then what's the problem?
Surely these efficient and affordable private insurers won't have much trouble competing with the big, bloated socialist healthcare system, right?
Americans are beyond hypocrisy now on this issue. At this point, we're virtually fucking retarded.
