fuck all those people who are against it, mainly the rich or those who don't care for those who can't afford a good health system. shit, my life is important as the rest of them so on with the health reform and fuck who's against it! I'll sound as anti and self as they in that perspective as well then! Go Obama and fuck who's against this reform!!
My respect for Obama just went up a few notches. America is seriously behind with health care coverage. It is about time we joined every single developed nation in providing health coverage and assistance to every single human being on our soil. It is one of the most basic human rights.
These facts have been known since the beginning! I mean...all people had to do was listen to what Obama was saying and theyd know the real deal. But no, they just listen to what they hear on the fricken propaganda news networks, and all their little soundbites, and people just dont get a full scope! Whats the problem, hes not banishing private insurance, he said the majority of the cost can be paid by fixing the waste within the system...its not socialism or anything but an option for poor ppl.
people hates this because reasons, if you dont buy this health care plan you will get fined.. and let me ask this question WHAT IF YOU DONT HAVE THE MOENY?? ALSO this health care bull shit will have many doctors go broke which will fuck up our economy even worse.. really.. they rushed this 2000 page contract too quickly... They should really read the contract carefully, i mean they had all this time... and i forgot what my history teacher said but i think that covers it up, but its what i think.
Why American's are arguing about this health care? Almost Every European Country has even almost same kind Health care, and it is working? Why this resist?
I think this is great ! I have a small shop this will work for me. What this look like the over priced ins Insurance people like GEICO Blue Cross will not be able to over charge and take away the HIGH PRICE doctors I am all for it. The that are mad are the Insurance people and doctors. Just like all the Union all over paid and under worked. I have owed my owen shop for twenty years I have seen a lot.
I've realized that Amercians are so pathetic. It's expensive to treat health to million of americans in need but is not expensive to spend billions and billion dollars in the killing of children, women and inocent people in Middle East. No wonder U.S.A. is the most hated country in the world.
Look at the kulaks farms : their barns and sheds are crammed with grain. And yet they are holding onto this grain because they are demanding three times the price offered by the government." Stalin
He convinced poor people and others that the free market was bad.
In my opinion you can say the same thing about food as you can about health insurance.
We already have two Federal health plans. They are called Medicare and Medicaid. Both are financial disasters that constantly circle the drain. Doctors hate these plans because they pay only a fraction of the amount charged and the doctor is forced to eat the remaining cost. Congratulations democrats. Now our health care will be administered by the same government that brings us the broken Social Security system, Medicare, medicade, FEMA, the EPA, and countless other failed money pits
NO ONE should force another person to do something he or she does not want to do this is our problem. Sure health care is a good thing if you give that person a choice.
Germany is the motherland of Social insurance and is on the top ten of human life index.
only western countries with a small population like sweden or swizerland are better...but germany has 80 millions people... so its the real number one.
I cant understand the americans who fight against it. sry.
The only reason why ppl bash this plan is because they are ignorant to the facts and do not understand clearly what is going on. Then there are those who are afraid and don't want to face the fact that a Democrat (who is also half minority) may actually have a better plan than anyone prior to him!
American's need to open their eyes and look at the bigger pic. Its not about what political party is running the country. Its about who can actually do the job!
Wat is up with u ppl, you don't even have solutions of ur own. U just have to criticize the president who is ACTUALLY doing something unlike our last president. I mean aren't you happy in the fact that our president actually cares about the real issues now?? And give the guy a chance. He's trying to clear 8 years of bullshit. It takes time for a person to get adjusted to the real situation.
the majority of people opposing this are rich americans who already have the best coverage and could care less about anyone who doesn't have health insurance
The only people who will "suffer" under this plan are health insurance executives. Boo hoo, they won't have their hundreds of millions of dollars in bonuses, money gained from denying care to sick people! It's really disgusting.
this will never be perfect, but its much better than getting nothing if you dont have / cant afford health insurance. and it will make the world or at least USA more fair. better humanitarians.
remember, its not good healthcare if the only way you get it is to deny it to others, especially those who need it the most.
The problem with his current plan is there is no public option. Another problem is that it forces individuals to get insurance. Instead getting a public option that would put insurance companies out of business they will be creating a free for all for insurance companies and their profits will only increase. I'm disappointed in democrats who will accept this plan just so they can say their party won. We should we as Americans always accept mediocrity.
This title is accurate, you can understand the deepest levels of Obama Health Care in only 4 minutes, yes it is true. All you need to understand is that this program is seriously flawed. The nice thing about it is that it will create a lot of pencil pushing jobs, a lot of people telling other people to tell others to tell others what to do and the person who is about to do something will tell another what they need to do. Great for the economy. jobs as a result of adding value. =)
If this plan goes thru, the insurance rate will go down, and you won't be denied for pre-existing condition, it's tought to be go against the big insurance companies and i take my hat off for President Obama for doing so, i would suggest everyone to follow this vote very closely and make their approval or disapproval in the ballot box.
There is just 1 thing that worries me about this health care plan. Too many Americans, will leech off this new system (provided that it is passed) the same way people leech off Social Welfare programs. Because of this it is possible the Country can go more into debt.
People need to stop using words like Nazi and likening Obama to Hitler. I bet the majority of those who use those terms can't fathom what actually went on in those times. I'm Canadian and I want to even see a better America.
..........Countinued.........Wow! $11-22 Billion a year. Looks like we could afford health insurance off that. This is number 1 in fixing this country. This country would do a 180 in a positive direction if we solved this issue. Everything from poverty, health care, education, crime, etc.would change for the better.
I forget who says it, but on the Colbert Report, a man told Stephen Colbert that the reason many people don't like Obama's health care plan is because they don't know about it. These political comedy shows may be a little less serious than most political shows, but they really put an insight to what people really think about these political figures, such as Obama. I believe that politicians should listen to Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart, because they show a (humorous) slant on what peopl thk
The only people who would "suffer" under this bill are the health insurance company executives who will lose out on their hundreds of millions of dollars in bonuses, money made from DENYING people coverage! You better believe they're doing everything they can to stop it!
Universal health care would be run just as medicare is now, with the government overseeing health insurance companies to make sure they don't screw people over as they have been!
Obama's entire 300+ page HR3200 plan in 4 minutes.... Anyone else see a problem in explaining an entire 300+ page document in 4 minutes? Whose ever tried to explain every last detail of To Kill a Mockingbird in 4 minutes?
WOW....it is clear to me that you have no idea what the healthcare plan is about!. This is what makes me so sad :( Why don't you look at what the bill actually says. Why don't you ask yourself why democrats are so against it as well? Knowledge is power!!!!!! Tell me something that the acual bill says....oh that is right you didn't read about the healthcare plan which states in black in white why so many people have a problem with it! Educate yourself :)
it does sound good but the effects of it will kill the health care economy the problem with health care isnt too little government control but too much. prices are going to skyrocket and innovation in the medical field will plummet. the reason prices are high now is bcuz the government forces insurance companies to cover stupid things ppl dont need. can you imagine how high your bills would be if everytime you went to the grocery store you had to buy food you wont every eat? thats government HC
@Rusvi1 right?? im thousands in debt bc i go to the er for anything, even small problems bc im too broke to pay out 300 to see a doctor.. people fight bc their selfish on those whom don't have coverage and dont care
A. It increases the number of people who must rely on taxpayer dollars to get insurance with subsidies
B. The mandate to get insurance. The federal government should not have the power to force you to buy something.
C. Excessive regulations. Some regulations on the insurance companies make sense, but too many makes it harder for them to compete, and they will either go bankrupt, downsize (fire people) or raise costs to compensate.
Because the ones giving you "universal health care" are the same ones who have wasted all their money on pointless wars, who can't pay the national debt, who wasted billions of companies that are now giving their ceo's 7 figure bonuses WITH that bailout money, and who already can't keep enough money in social security.
People are fighting it because they know that while Obama makes it sound so nice (he's good at that), they realize that in practice it will turn to shit.
Because the plan can't be all bad at first, it will resist too much opposition. Think of this as a notch up on the burner and you're in the water. If they put in boiling water straight away you'd jump out, but if they put you in cool water and turn up the heat, you'd be cooked before you knew what hit you. Its a first step towards bad and thats why people are fighting it cause they're not sheep.
Obama is like the adware that takes hold of your computer, scans it for viruses, then tells you that you have 22 viruses and a hidden IP connection that is stealing your personal info. The adware program then tells you that they are the solution when in reality they are the problem. They tell you what you need to buy to save you from the fake made up viruses that don't even exist. I understand how many of you are convinced. Stand up for YOUR constitution don't be a CONFORMIST!
I wonder how man of our legislators have been bought to stand against the people with the Health Insurance Machines $1.2million dollars per day lobbying.
People we live in a free market. No matter what plan Mr. Obama or congress gives us we can be sure that it will NOT fully pay doctors for their work nor will it provide the total care it is promising. Billions will not create a medical utopia.
Ok bro, move to Germany or France then. We have a medical utopia, providing leath care bfor everybody bay law. And dont forget, that our system requires half cost butz provides a billion tzimes better medical care.
@tttttttttt242: End the needless war in Iraq and roll back the Bush tax cuts to the very wealthy and there will be plenty of money to pay for health care.
He is trying to fix a broken system, how can anyone oppose this? have we reached a point where people can't distinguish right from wrong without a political agenda influencing their decisions?
The commodification of human health is fundamentally a good thing in that allows stakeholders to extract value from policy holders in exchange for truncated service.
When you are a conspirator to obstruct justice AND President, you try to lose the election to Joe Plumber, to be out-dove by two REAL Bush-pilots. You get young blacks shot, you incite riot, Lovelle pops five OPD, you do beerS! You won't free BARRY Bonds, FIRST! You won't take HOSPITAL bonds, first! You should have watched COSBY, since it forecasts your demise, in 2011, since 1984. You should have socialized SCHOOLS, first, to TAKE ALL CAMPUSES AND BANKS. THEN pimp your Mexican T.V. choppers!!
Its a real shame that many american people can`t see how the benefits of obamas healthcare out-weigh the current system.
Here in the UK, it works pretty well (we invented it, and we are not communist),...yes it will cost you extra in taxes, but you will more than save that money by not having to pay insurance premiems which line share holders pockets.
THE current bill is not the answer ,,,does not address proper Tort Reform, "undocumented" access for expensive non-life threatening HC , & does not provide MOST IMPORTANTLY an OPT OUT Provision for those that believe it is still too bloated with waste & inefficiencies resulting in inflated premiums not in keeping with services provided.
....A mandate stuffed inside a trojan horse bill for HC is a skunk in the road...too stupid to debate...
@hadenufnow I wanted it! And judging by this blog and other blogs millions of other Americans wanted it! You're right we need to address Tort Reform and other issues but can we start somewhere? I think this is a good start, now talk to your senators and congressman and let us all improve this bill from this starting point. What do you think?
hahaha! That is right time for the bickering is over! The time for games has pasted! Now is the time to deliver on Health Care! It will be against the law for the greedy health care insurance companies to drop coverage on you so they can profit from it when u get sick, or water it down when you need it the most. It will be against the law for insurance companies to deny you coverage from pre-existing conditions! GO OBAMA!!! Time to put an end to the greediness of health insurance companies! :)
I agree, I'd much rather have the goverment tell me if I live or die. If the treatment is too expensive, I should understand this and just save the country money by dying.... cuz Obama loves me soooo much......lol
Government should finance its own public medical schools, & give scholarships to only those medical students that go to public medical schools, and not private ones. In that way, government can control the costs. These students can work in government public hospitals & the medical costs can be much lower in the long run and therefore private practices will have no other choice but to compete, hence bringing down the health insurance coverage, and everyone will be happy with the outcome
Obama also told another untruth during this 9/8/09 speech. He falsely said he would not use our tax money to fund abortion-on-demand for his health care "reform". His statement directly contradicted the promise he made, as a presidential candidate, to the Planned Parenthood abortion rights lobby. (YouTube: "Obama promises abortion in public plan".)
Bauccus (sp?) bill = bad, agreed. But the NEED for congress to pass a good bill THIS YEAR giving FREE, government-sponsored healthcare which covers ALL Americans who currently have no insurance is more critical than ever. I moved to Sweden for a while, and while there, I paid ZERO, yes, ZERO dollars (swedish krowns) for medications or healthcare. ALL my meds were FREE, & medical bills were PAID FOR by government. how great it would be if USA pulled its head out of its ass & did the same!
WRONG TO PROFIT FROM SUFFERING . . What gives Big Business the right to get rich from someones ill health?Seems to be a widespread violation of the MDs "Hippocratic Oath" in our present system.More advanced countries who realized some time ago that profiting from people's sickness was MORALLY CORRUPT have been paying the medical profession directly. Im happy to see this is beginning to happen here.Theres some things that just do not belong in our Capitalist System.and healthcare is one of them.
The government needs to start up a program called green card coalition. Go to every beaners house and ask for a green card if they don't have one tie a noose on their neck and let the horse do the running back home to mexico. BAN ILLEGALS NOW I will make sure I get this program heard.
Imposing higher costs for insurance companies while having a lower cost and less capable government plan will only cause companies to drop their employees insurance. The fine for a company not carrying employees insurance is way less than what they will spend for that employees insurance. They say you will have the option for private health care but everything in the plan will force the insurance companies out of business leaving everyone with gov healthcare.
Reid is threatening to use reconciliation -- the "nuclear option". Go nuke Harry, if you're ready for the fallout! Their jobs are finished. They are seriously underestimating the anger of the public. This might even spark a real revolution. You better call Allied Van Lines now and make a reservation with them to
move your sorry butt out of D.C. in Dec. of 2010. the kind of man that results from too little testosterone and too much Aqua Velva. Apparently they want another civil war.
You know, the omission of facts is no better than lying. This proposed care would also give all government workers access to your health records. Give them access to your bank info. Make being uninsured illegal. Demotivate busniesses to provide GOOD health care, because there's a free "public option". And even lead to universal health care. So theres a tid bit of reality.
One thing you do have to consider about making everyone insured is whether or not it's really considered a right. If it's not a right, then I'd certainly consider it unfair to make someone pay. If the answer is yes though, then is it fair for the people with health insurance to pay more and get taxed because of the people that don't, and end up costing everyone more in the emergency room?
If we want a public option we need to get more involved and let our voices be heard. In the comment section of my profile I have a few resources to help you get started including phone numbers, petitions, information, and much more. We can NOT let the lunatics run the Asylum. We all need to do our part.
Tell me, what in this plan will lower healthcare costs? Democrats attacking insurance companies with "deep pockets" is not going to lower the actual cost of healthcare.
Tort reform is mostly unrelated to healthcare. It is merely the idea that there should be limitations on the amount of damages people can seek in a lawsuit. People sue those with deep pockets, so they are the ones that directly benefit from it.
Since the damages will be limited, the amount lawyers can collect will be limited. Therefore, the best lawyers will avoid representing the poor, making it even less likely they will win even a case with merit.
How can he say ALL this and then tell people that reform will not affect their insurance? Many insurance companies will STOP writing health insurance because of those provisions. Others will raise rates substantially higher for everyone.
These regulations will eliminate private health insurance for most people. Thus, leaving them to what? Oh, yeah, the public option!
The last I checked, competition drives prices DOWN. Please refer to any Econ 101 textbook in circulation. Also, not sure why "insurance companies will STOP writing health insurance," or what that even means... But no matter what you meant, they probably won't. No insurance company that wanted to stay in business would raise rates. If I provided a product for X amount, and you showed up providing comparable product for less-- WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I RAISED PRICES?
What the President is saying to insurance companies is: You cannot cap benefits, You must cap out-of-pocket, You must take people with pre-existing conditions you know will be outragously expenses, and You cannot drop people from coverage. Given you are the econ expert, would you please tell me, how is an insurance company going to make any profit at all without substantially increasing premiums?
Let me help you. What if you applied the same restrictions to auto insurance?
Under the ways the insurance companies run they would have to raise premiums, but with the public option that would not be an option for them. This will cause insurance companies to demand that the clinics/hospitals reduce their cost, which is better for everyone.
CommonSenseJoe, if you applied the same restrictions to auto insurance, the premiums would increase substantially, but not astronomically or exponentially. As I'm sure you know, the "Law of Large Numbers" (wiki that if you want) is in play, because "most" people aren't using the benefits they pay insurance for. The costs would increase substantially, but you'll get used to it like you do the price of gas or milk.
Because he is not just the commander in chief of the armed forces....he is also the president of the United States of America, he is the leader of the US of A!
afsalvo that is wrong. The last thing we need is more government regulation. It's our own governments fault that costs are skyrocketing. Weather it be through intervention or inflation. Very little oversight is needed for capitalism. One of our governments primary jobs in the market is to make sure there is plenty of competition.
It is the lack of regulation and unopposed greed that brought the banking system to the verge of collapse. The government had to swoop in like a parent to keep it from failing. Like poorly controlled and raised adolescents, the banks figured they could take wild risks with no consequences. The result of doing nothing would have been a SEVERE financial collapse. Although I have to admit the bailout is distasteful, and part of me would have been happy to see the whole thing go down the tubes.
What is needed is more regulation, not less. But it has to be done well. Like it or not, many large corporations are like badly raised children, running away from larger responsibility and only looking out for themselves to the detriment of all. The function of the government is to provide the overview, guidance and restrictions necessary to keep this in check as society develops. Think anti- trust laws. if this is what our banking and healthcare system needs, I'm all for it.
The facts are there is no possible way any of these propossed plans will cut cost. They will increase cost and premiums and the deficit. His words are just that words. It all sounds good but is impossible to achieve. They est a public plan would be 10% less then private and you wil be forced to buy a plan or pay a fine of 2.5%. Employers who don't provide insurance will be fined 8%. That is against our Constitution to force Americans to buy anything.
I like it up until the public option bit. "Wont add a dime to the deficit." is straight bullshit. Everything adds to the damn deficit, if giving out free healthcare like candy doesnt add to it then I dont know how we even have a deficit today. There are some good things in this bill, but you would be a fool to believe everything that Obama says is going to happen.
Maybe rich people are inteligent enough to understand that the Government can't run a business. That the two most heavly regulated entities that have the highest cost and are failures are healthcare and education. The third heavly government regulated entity banking. That failure cost us $787 Billion. Medicare/medicaid waste $1 to every $3 it spends. These plans are just an expantion of a failed system. Its your money do you want them to waste it?
Yes! Totally agree with you on that. Docs' hands have been tied for years now, and that's not likely to change, no matter what gets pushed through or what gets blocked.
but it won't happen. Real murikins believe in personal responsibility after all. If you get sick, you obviously caused it on your own. Repub/Libertarian solution = you die, thereby decreasing the surplus population.
You cannot remove personal responsibility from the equation here. It is not like we have not already spend billions on Medicare, Medicaid, and children's health insurance. How much is enough for you people?
Well, that's what I just said your position seemed to be. I was right, and you agree. What's the big deal, what's it to you if I put it in the harsh light of reality, which is that 'YOU people' don't care about people.
Republicans only know how to ruin it's nation and polices, they think they have "ideas" but they don't. They never did to begin with. The only defense they have is "expense", when in fact, they are the ones who wasted OUR money in 2 wars. I hate republicans! Republicans should never be allowed to run for president.
The bills were written by special interest groups, big labor, big business, socialist intellectuals and the self-serving lefty criminals in congress. The big O doesn't have a health plan, his administration didn't write any of the bills thus the reason he can't explain details about any of the bills. He doesn't even know what is in them much less can explain them. The wonder boy is a pitchman, a used car salesman that speaks well, looks dignified, is an historic figure and a great BS artist.
How does preventive care save money? By its very definition it is more expensive! How can we spend near a trillion on healthcare, not raise taxes and not add it to the deficit? This is an insane theory and Keynesianism at its worst!
What obama and politicans are not telling you is: THIS CANNOT BE DONE WITHOUT THE RAISE OF TAXES, Period! If obama goes on air and says he will raise taxes, people will freak out even more and do something stupid, so he's keeping everyone calm for now, but here is no other option but to raise taxes on everyone to lower our deficit.
Ahem, as it stands now, it is more expensive to treat people when they wait til it becomes an emergency. The longer you let a problem linger the harder it is to take care of it. That is common sense. Preventive care will reduce costs. Whats inane, is that some people don't understand this. Another way to save money would be to cut out the billions of excess dollars being laundered by CEO's who dont really care about your health.
I'm sorry, I didn't realize that what I was saying wasn't true? Are you sticking up for a Health Care system built on greed? I'm not sure what you're getting at here? You talk about the "force" of Federal Government as if Obama is going to enforce some totalitarian system that will have us all shackled in lines. Aren't you brainwashed just a little as well?
Perhaps for a potentially-sick individual. For the public at large (the majority of who won't ever get sick) it becomes very expensive! But thats what this is really about, helping corporations who make money off selling preventive drugs and screenings. What cannot be debated is that we have is government managed care for the past 30 years, so the solution is more of it?
Medic Care works though. And we all get sick at some point whether you admit or not. 1/4 people will get some form of cancer in their life... In men, there are 189,000 new cases of prostate cancer each year alone.
I had to have surgery while I was in the Army, and thank God it's a socialized system and you the tax payer had to pay for it (bad joke I'm just kidding). But seriously I pay taxes too and I would expect that some of my money is helping someone somewhere. That's what its all about.
I have no problem with paying for active and veterans, my sister is a vet and quite frankly I am disgusted by the care she gets. Paying for military healthcare has a rich history in this country and the framers wrote at length about it. The members of congress get top notch care, why not the military? To say that preventive healthcare via more government will reduce cancer (which year after year is flat or declining) is insane! If you want to help contribute to spontaneous order and donate!
The health care should be socialized, then it's will be fine...!
I'm paying tax, why i have to pay for health insurance? What a fuck that...?:)

American's need to open their eyes and look at the bigger pic. Its not about what political party is running the country. Its about who can actually do the job!

this will never be perfect, but its much better than getting nothing if you dont have / cant afford health insurance. and it will make the world or at least USA more fair. better humanitarians.
remember, its not good healthcare if the only way you get it is to deny it to others, especially those who need it the most.

Hello All,
This title is accurate, you can understand the deepest levels of Obama Health Care in only 4 minutes, yes it is true.

@Rusvi1 because everyone just wants to argue about something
lylehigg 1 year ago
A few reasons.
Albyiscool 1 year ago
@Rusvi1

Make being uninsured illegal. Demotivate busniesses to provide GOOD health care, because there's a free "public option". And even lead to universal health care. So theres a tid bit of reality.
Retic92 2 years ago
One thing you do have to consider about making everyone insured is whether or not it's really considered a right. If it's not a right, then I'd certainly consider it unfair to make someone pay. If the answer is yes though, then is it fair for the people with health insurance to pay more and get taxed because of the people that don't, and end up costing everyone more in the emergency room?

CommonSenseJoe 2 years ago
Tort reform. That's just to protect people with deep pockets from getting sued.
Why do you think Republican billionaires demonize "trial lawyers."
biantai888 2 years ago
Tell me, what in this plan will lower healthcare costs? Democrats attacking insurance companies with "deep pockets" is not going to lower the actual cost of healthcare.
CommonSenseJoe 2 years ago
I wasn't talking about that at all.
Therefore, the best lawyers will avoid representing the poor, making it even less likely they will win even a case with merit.
biantai888 2 years ago
How can he say ALL this and then tell people that reform will not affect their insurance? Many insurance companies will STOP writing health insurance because of those provisions. Others will raise rates substantially higher for everyone.
These regulations will eliminate private health insurance for most people. Thus, leaving them to what? Oh, yeah, the public option!
CommonSenseJoe 2 years ago
The last I checked, competition drives prices DOWN. Please refer to any Econ 101 textbook in circulation. Also, not sure why "insurance companies will STOP writing health insurance," or what that even means... But no matter what you meant, they probably won't. No insurance company that wanted to stay in business would raise rates. If I provided a product for X amount, and you showed up providing comparable product for less-- WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I RAISED PRICES?
counterhit121 2 years ago
What the President is saying to insurance companies is: You cannot cap benefits, You must cap out-of-pocket, You must take people with pre-existing conditions you know will be outragously expenses, and You cannot drop people from coverage. Given you are the econ expert, would you please tell me, how is an insurance company going to make any profit at all without substantially increasing premiums?
Let me help you. What if you applied the same restrictions to auto insurance?
CommonSenseJoe 2 years ago
Under the ways the insurance companies run they would have to raise premiums, but with the public option that would not be an option for them. This will cause insurance companies to demand that the clinics/hospitals reduce their cost, which is better for everyone.
MrJund 2 years ago
CommonSenseJoe, if you applied the same restrictions to auto insurance, the premiums would increase substantially, but not astronomically or exponentially. As I'm sure you know, the "Law of Large Numbers" (wiki that if you want) is in play, because "most" people aren't using the benefits they pay insurance for. The costs would increase substantially, but you'll get used to it like you do the price of gas or milk.

Everything they meddle with is either a money pit, or a complete failure. Medicare, SS (on its way), education, the list goes on and on.
EndTheFedRes 2 years ago
afsalvo that is wrong. The last thing we need is more government regulation. It's our own governments fault that costs are skyrocketing. Weather it be through intervention or inflation. Very little oversight is needed for capitalism. One of our governments primary jobs in the market is to make sure there is plenty of competition.
EndTheFedRes 2 years ago
It is the lack of regulation and unopposed greed that brought the banking system to the verge of collapse. The government had to swoop in like a parent to keep it from failing. Like poorly controlled and raised adolescents, the banks figured they could take wild risks with no consequences. The result of doing nothing would have been a SEVERE financial collapse. Although I have to admit the bailout is distasteful, and part of me would have been happy to see the whole thing go down the tubes.
afsalvo 2 years ago
What is needed is more regulation, not less. But it has to be done well. Like it or not, many large corporations are like badly raised children, running away from larger responsibility and only looking out for themselves to the detriment of all. The function of the government is to provide the overview, guidance and restrictions necessary to keep this in check as society develops. Think anti- trust laws. if this is what our banking and healthcare system needs, I'm all for it.

And the Wharburg's European agent that just bought up United Health, that stands to win, really gives a rats ass about you?
Monopoly power in health care backed by the Force of the Federal Government is more caring?
Brainwashed? Just a little?

I'm sorry, I didn't realize that what I was saying wasn't true? Are you sticking up for a Health Care system built on greed? I'm not sure what you're getting at here? You talk about the "force" of Federal Government as if Obama is going to enforce some totalitarian system that will have us all shackled in lines. Aren't you brainwashed just a little as well?

"Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is argument of tyrants. It is the creed of slaves." William Pitt
I'm not sticking up for anybody, I stand in opposition to a government that restricts my choice of insurance to that of my own state, CA.
If Government care is great than it would be privatized by the industrious.
My labor is my property and I will not cede my capitol to a government that is irresponsible.
It is immoral to take money from Americans by force.
