  • but, where can a find the step by step to can use this without the original laserdisc?

  • but, isn´t avaliable for free download?

  • is there a way to use the dragons lair 2, without the original lazer disc? like download in some web adrress, thanks!

  • @rickyarte Dragon's Lair 2 is also available on DVD and can be used in the emulator with the same process as Dragon's Lair (or Space Ace)

  • i remember when this came out in the arcade. the game literally had 30 people surrounding it watching. and strangely the same few people kept on playing, people were intimidated by the graphics and gameplay as it was like nothing we had seen up that point. and of course nobody wanted to suck with 30 people watching. anyways, great time to be a kid. cheers

  • It gets more and more badass bro. I've actually never played dragons lair before, I guess I assumed I wouldn't like the whole fmv type games but that looks pretty cool.

  • U should get the 2 TMNT arcade games on ur MAME

    That would be sweet

  • @MrMMO97 I already have them, those were both on there right from the get-go. No arcade cab is complete without them.

  • @n8great321 I think i didnt see them in ur MAME Vid Showing all the games

  • @MrMMO97 yeah I have a bunch of games on there so I didn't cycle through them all, but they're on there.

  • Its not that mame can not support laser disc games its that the authors are not putting the digital leisure in the emulator so they dont get sued because dl is still making money off of them.

Mame at the moment does emulate a few laser disc games like Fire Fox, Cliffhanger, Cobra Command, US vs Them and of course Cube Quest which at the moment Daphne doesnt support.

The only problem with mame is it uses frame perfect images that can be as large as 15gb but thats the cost of arcade perfect.

  • @gamemaster14neo yeah the various files for Daphne can be relatively large, but definitely not 15 gig lol. In addition to it being legal, the way Daphne does the downloading is so streamlined and user-friendly, as opposed to trying to piece together a million different files in the right folders.

  • That looks like a hard ass game. Can you get it to load up in the front ends?

  • @RetroGameFanatic eventually but it just takes some time to configure things and edit a lot of random files. I've since got it working, but a windows pop-up keeps coming up before I play it so I just have to get rid of that.

  • I heard a walt disney creator created dragon's lair

  • @TheNews1990 "former" disney animator Don Bluth. He left in the mid-70's and started his own animation studio, so he did all the art for this game and got behind all these laserdisc games which ended up being a bad investment lol. Despite these games failing, they're still really iconic and the hand-drawn animation is amazing.

  • Looks great nate, must have been amazing for kids at the time when it came out, i don't think i ever played it in the arcade, shame as it looks great but my reflexs suck tbh lol

  • I do have the org. laserdisc, but I cant get the hardware nowhere no more... Maybe I should give a try to the emulation - it looks very good on your screen...

  • I love the nes version. I don't know if its because I played it as a kid, but I really felt the need to continue and learn from my mistakes after every wrong move. I need to plug that cartridge and play it again. And the 80s style animation you have in your cab is just awesome, I have no words LOL So as usual, great video :)

  • cool, Im not really into this type of game, but that cab is really great.
