My dad is Puerto Rican & Comanche. I'm a mix-but albino by comparision. A kid in jr high cracked a pocahontas joke once after my dad picked me up one day. I threatened to 'scalp' him if he didnt shut up. I got sent to the office. My dad padded in, calm as hell, long hair and mean brown eyes ablaze. Five minutes later, we left. The kid's dad thought I had scared his brat without cause, because I looked white. He almost peed when he saw my dad. Moral: I can totally relate. Keep lighthearted! :)
This is an awsome story. I love the animation and the fact you dont think of one more than the other,i wish people could be more like you. maybe then a more peaceul world. keep it up!
I thought this was a great video and I really liked your animation style. I haven't seen anything like it but I think it is really cool, especially the way you do you scene transitions.
yaaaa salaaaam... mashallah very nice, my ex husband is from saudi, I have a five year old daughter who is already lost in that world of trying to understand where she is from, so she watched this video with me and told me it is just like her. shukrun :)
My kids are saudi american, or american saudi! my son is 10 and can relate totally to your classroom experience--very clever and cool video-thanks:) ( a mom in saudi)
looooool I love the video its hilarious, u made some clear points in a comical way,,and u illustrated our classrooms reaaaallly well, hahahaa cant stop laughing, thats witty mate.keep it up, Cheers! Rana.Y.J
Um well I kind of understand. Half of my family didn't come directly from the middle east and I didn't get directly picked on, but I feel the same. Exspecailly since one side of my family is pure polish and my other side is mixed. But since I am half jewish it's kind of hard to deal with ignorance on a massive scale. Good animation though.
Nice cartoon, can't really identify where your coming from since I'm only a quarter Puerto Rican and the rest Danish...not really radically different worlds just ones a little paler and enjoys herring on everything.
I exported all the animation from Flash as a .png sequence of images. then i did all my post production in AfterEffects (added a few blurs and put in the audio). AfterEffects can render Mpeg as well as high quality video for DVD's.
Manually. and most of the time, if there was mouth movement, i'd redraw the mouth shapes frame by frame. there are probably faster ways to do it. but i like the control i get doing it frame by frame.
That was the funniest thing i ever seen, im saudi american,my dads from riyad but we lived in jeddah, i went to an arabic scool then british, my moms from renton/seattle washigton and now i live in dubai..do u have an email or sumthin id like to get to no u becuz it felt like i was wachin my life on ther
That was really great...once in class(in US)the tacher told us to bring pics from our original city or whatever..so I brought the fountain of Jeddah..the kids asked: is it coming from the sand??!! & I brought pics of buildings in Riyadh they were so ammased..

Fantastic. I totally get it, too--I'm black mixed with white and Cherokee, and people always ask if I'm Latina. Anyway, jolly good show, man.
