And I know what its like; having no one that believes you can join the brotherhood of the special forces. Just stay focused and keep your eyes on the prize and hopefully, one day, you'll become SF, and even move on to do greater things like Delta or CIA SAD

Team 6 was turned into DevGru which is a counter terrorist group. highly classified and what not (somewhat similar to delta). the other SEAL teams are just as bad ass but the best SEAL's are selected to train for team 6 but only a few make it.

@ master every delta operator knows that the creation and modeling of delta comes from the sas. col. charles becwith served as a liasion officer for the sas and delta is modeled exactly after the sas. regular sf are no were near equvilant to the sas. tier one are americas best delta devgru and 24sts. these are all smu's that operate directly under jsoc and the nsa. also with cia S.A.D.

@Search4Goods10 I know there are other nations involved, but let me put it this way. There are approx. 130,000 NATO forces in Afghanistan, 90,000 are American troops. As for Iraq, NATO forces invaded with approximately 200,000 troops, 150,000 were American troops. Those two numbers combined are around 240,000, less than half of the US Active Army personnel. Then the US has the other 500,000 Reserve and National Guard personnel.

USA would argue that the mission was sensitive, but the truth is, they hold back alot, like their SF being defeated

@101andrewj, it couldn't be Operation Anaconda, you seem to forget that many other countries sent troops in towards Operation Anaconda and many records inculding the worlds longest sniper shot were awarded during Operation Anaconda, Operation Anaconda was probably one of the most cover news military operation during the whole time in Afghanistan. I'm not sure if Delta was there. I'm not doubting that the SEALs or Delta can't get killed, I'm saying I can't remember a mission when both did.
i know durrin anaconda, that british, canadian and australian troops helped out alot, but it was still the americans who wer on the front lines, and the americans who wer doing all the spying and intelligence gathering.. delta missions are most of the time classified, for a long time, the USA didnt even want to admit delta existed... so its going 2 be hard to find solid proof of them being captured.. i heard, from my friend who was a supply officer with CF durrin the 2002 invasion
@TheFalconryFan seals have been captured several times, if you look it up, in 2002, a chinook heli carrying a squad of 16 navy seals sent 2 rescue 4 seals pinned down by taliban got hit by a unguided RPG and crashed, killing all 16 seals and crew, those 4 seals wer then left to die, 3 wer captured and killed, 1 escaped and dressed up like a afghan, hid in a house for a month and got away.. the point is, nomatter how elite you are, shit can still go wrong against the shittiest enemy
@101andrewj, were did you get that operation? I haven't found a source? USSOCOM rarely did any missions in Somalia, it was mostly MEU which did most missions, Delta and SEALS mainly take part in the Battle of Mogadishu, basically nothing else than that. A few Marines and a pilot from the 160th Night Stalkers were captured during that operation, but pretty much sure SEALs and Delta didn't get captured do to the fact they only did one major operation.

Special Forces is a term thrown around to describe everyone in special operations but in reality the actual term "Special Forces" is for the Green Berets. @Search4Goods10 I know there are other nations involved, but let me put it this way. There are approx. 130,000 NATO forces in Afghanistan, 90,000 are American troops. As for Iraq, NATO forces invaded with approximately 200,000 troops, 150,000 were American troops. Those two numbers combined are around 240,000, less than half of the US Active Army personnel. Then the US has the other 500,000 Reserve and National Guard personnel.

Most news cast don't report anything good, they just update to see who's winning or not, if something new is happening, what the military is getting invlove with, and updates and war crimes which they cover both sides. The media doesn't make our special forces look good, video games and movies do.

@TheFalconryFan when the 20+ seals got killed om the 1 mission in the beginning of the afghan invasion, it was forbidden to report or cover this story on the news, it wasnt made public until years later, when 1 the surviving seal shared his story, because america needs troops, and a news story about the largest number of elite soldiers killed in 30 years isnt good for recruitment.. USA would argue that the mission was sensitive, but the truth is, they hold back alot, like their SF being defeated

@101andrewj, it couldn't be Operation Anaconda, you seem to forget that many other countries sent troops in towards Operation Anaconda and many records inculding the worlds longest sniper shot were awarded during Operation Anaconda, Operation Anaconda was probably one of the most cover news military operation during the whole time in Afghanistan. I'm not sure if Delta was there. I'm not doubting that the SEALs or Delta can't get killed, I'm saying I can't remember a mission when both did.

i know durrin anaconda, that british, canadian and australian troops helped out alot, but it was still the americans who wer on the front lines, and the americans who wer doing all the spying and intelligence gathering.. delta missions are most of the time classified, for a long time, the USA didnt even want to admit delta existed... so its going 2 be hard to find solid proof of them being captured.. i heard, from my friend who was a supply officer with CF durrin the 2002 invasion

@TheFalconryFan seals have been captured several times, if you look it up, in 2002, a chinook heli carrying a squad of 16 navy seals sent 2 rescue 4 seals pinned down by taliban got hit by a unguided RPG and crashed, killing all 16 seals and crew, those 4 seals wer then left to die, 3 wer captured and killed, 1 escaped and dressed up like a afghan, hid in a house for a month and got away.. the point is, nomatter how elite you are, shit can still go wrong against the shittiest enemy

@101andrewj, were did you get that operation? I haven't found a source? USSOCOM rarely did any missions in Somalia, it was mostly MEU which did most missions, Delta and SEALS mainly take part in the Battle of Mogadishu, basically nothing else than that. A few Marines and a pilot from the 160th Night Stalkers were captured during that operation, but pretty much sure SEALs and Delta didn't get captured do to the fact they only did one major operation.

Special Forces is a term thrown around to describe everyone in special operations but in reality the actual term "Special Forces" is for the Green Berets. Not to say SEALS, DELTA, rangers, marine recon, etc aren't totally badass, it's just that they fall under the term 'special operations' instead of SF.
