Do any of you DS fans know where I can find out more about that "original scripted ending" mentioned below by NancyK97, where "Fraser didn't choose one Ray over the other Ray"?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@AimingForVegan The original ending is described on Fanlore.org - just type in "Call of the Wild" in the search engine. In this ending,. Fraser is in Canada with Thatcher, and the Rays are both in Chicago and working for the Chicago PD.
No Fraser-Kowalski going off together in Canada and leaving Vecchio out. It's what PG should have done, instead of playing to the F/K fangirls.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Just watched this again, and while it's mostly hilarious, I'm not thrilled about the outtake with Paul Gross and Callum Keith Rennie after the "partners" conversation.
I just don't like PG trying to cram slash down viewers' throats. He also missed a chance to win back RayV fans in the finale episode when he changed it to focus on slash instead of the friendships with BOTH Rays. The original scripted ending was much better because Fraser didn't choose one Ray over the other Ray.
Greatest show ever! Why don't they make good stuff like this now? Thanks for posting this. Did not know Paul Gross was such a potty-mouth...funny to see "Benton" out of character.
Best Thing EVER! I love to see Paul Gross behind the scenes! He's so Playfull and Swears! I LOVE it when he swears! It's just so cute! The doctor rant was absolutely hilarious!
I wish though that Ray V was there throughout the whole series, but I loved Fraser's face when he saw him after a year, He lit up like Christmas ^.^
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@PrescriptionDrMcCoy Fraser's face when he sees Ray V is, to me, proof about whom Fraser truly loves. He never showed that same emotion for Ray K, because Ray K was never as great of a friend to him as Ray V was.
@NancyK97 Because RayK was never his friend for a couple years and then disappeared under cover for god knows how long. Please. They had zip chemistry compared to F/K. And if PG wanted to have a little fun with giving Fraser a happy sled-off-into-the-sunset ending, well good for him.
@AmyasFarsight The chemistry is just your opinion! Obviously, I, and many others, disagree with you. I personally did not see a strong friendship between Fraser and RayK (RayK HIT him!), so how can I see a romance between them?
And PG may have wanted to "have a little fun" - but in doing that, he disregarded the Due South fans who loved the friendship/relationship of Fraser and RayV, and made these fans angry. Stupid, stupid!
Lol because nobody with strong feelings ever gets angry or lashes out!
Anyway, listen, it's fine, I wasn't trying to start an argument. I totally understand you can disagree with me. Half of the joy is in the interpretation.
But I will say that Paul Gross can't be THAT stupid if ten years later we're all still here and watching his videos. He pleased a LOT of fans with that ending, and because you're not among that number, doesn't mean he was wrong to do it.
@sheepy307 There were two soundtracks released for Due South. The first had Paul Gross and David Marciano on the cover. The second had a silhouette of Paul and Callum Keith Rennie. Lots of good music there. Try Amazon.com if a local store can't order it.
heeeey... the ballet dancer at 1:18 is the same guy who was guard outside the consulate in that episode with the vault and stuff... what is that, socks down his underwear? lol
@Kolibri2005 its season three mounty on the bounty... they're on a ship and rayk has to go snoop around, so benny distracts everyone else by bursting into song. its cool.
@ahenmaxtae Thanks! I actually did make it to that episode and it does make sense, lol. I was just surprised--I love that song and I never realized they used it in the show. Good times. I guess I could've guessed that they'd be singing a sea chantey while on a boat, hahaha :-) Thanks anyway though!
@Kolibri2005 sure they'd have a sailor song, not only cos its a boat and all, but also cos paul gross would have another chance to show his nice singing... by the by, i watched the trailer of men with brooms... its a 2002 movie about curling paul gross has directed and starred in... it looks good, and its preeeety weird to see paul gross as anything other than constable benton fraser
@ahenmaxtae men with brooms is really funny, check it out if you can.it's a bit weird at first seeing him not dressed as a mountie, lol.i think he does the music in it as well! a man of many talents :)
@celestialmazer i watched it, and i liked it! also watch slings and arrows. its this other TV series he did. he is the exact opposite of benton fraser in that, i can tell you. a foul mouthed temperamental dysfunctional troubled actor, who frequently has to be told to wash and change his clothes. the first two seasons are on youtube.

@spogee While Seasons 3-4 with the new Ray are worth watching, I disagree about the new Ray developing a "real strong friendship with Fraser."

funny, i first saw Paul Gross in slings and arrows, where he was a bit dischevelled and sideways, and when i happened to come across Due South on TV, I would be sickened by how "pretty" he was. After a couple of eps though, a started to appreciate the show for what it was, and got hooked. Quirky, entertaining, and with some good Canadian commentary every now and then. Loved that it was in Toronto - could recognize most of the locations.
Yay! Due South Bloopers! I'm at work at the moment (on my lunch break!) but have no sound on my PC - so can only watch and laugh my head off! I can't wait to get home later & hear the sound too! Thank You!
Due South was one of the best TV show ever to exist. The storylines were decent, and the jokes were understated, but really funny. I would have loved to have this drama be released in DVD form here in Japan as well.
This is the funniest thing I have seen, I havn't heard it yet, bloody machines gone wrong. I have that great pleasure to look forward too. My deepest thanks to the genius who put this together, and who sent it to this site.I am in your dept. Now, how do I fix this bloody machine. All the best Mary Wheels. xxx

He means 'too high' as in the wrong key. if you watch the actual eppisode the song is in a lower key!

Sigh. That's what I expected. I am not usually a fan of stoner humor, mind, but you have to admit, in context, it would have been pretty funny.
sapote31 4 years ago
it would indeed! I would have put it past him! From all of the interview with him he seams like bit of a wild child! Our Fraser, No!

at about 3:47 when Callum Rennie says "Oh my lord" I think that's the cutest thing.

Due South was one of the best TV show ever to exist. The storylines were decent, and the jokes were understated, but really funny. I would have loved to have this drama be released in DVD form here in Japan as well.
