That is a well-trained parrot. It looks like a hybrid. More like a green-cheek conure or a pineapple.

You can tell this little bird loves this guy, he's willing to get up but at the same time for a while he's pushing his head in the pillow going, "it's okay if we sleep a little more!" Then he bounces over to see what he can get into....very very sweet!

My Sun likes to lay on it's side and sleep, or in my cleavage. Such a silly baby.

oh i used to have a sunconure and i just loved him! every time i see a conure it makes me think of him! ther so cute when they lay on their back and snuggle. Tango would crawl up in your hair or in your shirt lol... really cute bird :)

lol that's okay. Thanks. I guess I just have to live with my bird the way it is. ^_^ Sometimes, when I put my hair down my bird will crawl up on my shoulder and just snuggle with me. That's the most relaxing thing I've ever seen her do though. She's a lively one that's for sure.

Mine is exactly like that..she makes those chirping noises when she's tired. But I can't leave remote controls near her anymore..she'll pull off every button.

mine doesn't lay on his back. That scares me. He simply does not like it! Should I force it or does it come with time? My Sun conure is about a year old now.

Some birds like laying on their backs and others don't. My Sun does, but my Brown-Throated Conure doesn't. There's nothing wrong with this Sun. He/she is just very relaxed and comfortable with it's owner.

so cute!!!! suns love to hide underthings too. this is the most mellow bird I've ever seen. remember if your planning on getting a bird, go to your local avian rescue and adopt!

You are correct. These people don't know. There is nothing wrong with your conure. In fact, if somewhere along the line he did not lay on his back, I would say something is wrong with him.

I have 2 conures....A green cheek and a Jenday and both lay on their backs

Why on earth would you force your bird to lie on its back? Surely just let it if it wants to or leave it if it doesn't.

Lying on their backs is not a natural behavior - only with training this usually happens. Dont ever force it to do it if he's not comfortable.

My Nanday would lie on his back and play paddy cake with peanuts. He would lay in my hand also but my peach front won't even let me pet her back much less lay on her back for me. It's just up to the bird whether they lie on their backs.
