I love the theme with lyrics- it's wicked. I also like the symbolism of the song in this particular season. Those who understood the finale' probably know what I mean.

That was just Roseanne's way of explaining how she felt after Dan had died; she felt like death had taken him away and his death made it feel like he was cheating on her with someone else instead. It's all explained in the series finale. Season 9 was not real, but Roseanne expressing her thoughts in words about what had happened since Dan's death and her changing events in her mind to make her feel better.
@derekfarris Technically nothing past season two is "real" as Mark was introduced as Becky's boyfriend when he is actually Darlene's. Which makes sense as season two mentions Roseanne's wanting to write - and dialogue from that episode is featured in the series finale.

The problem with Chalke for me is that she really doesn't fit the teenage blonde archetype the way Becky did. Chalke being dominant seems out of place. She worked much better in her role on Scrubs.

Don't know right off hand. KLina putting me on the spot, but I'm sure there are HUNDREDS of excellent actresses out there that could've mod\lded themselves into that role. However, I will agree that she did it best.
My only regret is that Estelle Parsons (Bev) never made it into the opening credits. It would have been nice to see an "and Estelle Parsons as Bev" added to the opening!
i know. i was just comparing the two together. my comment on the season 8 opening is that the second morph of lecy goranson looked like sarah chalke, which it is sarah chalke and i thought i would just point that out.
Whoops. Just saw I mentioned Chalke (2nd Becky) when I meant the first becky Lecey, I think her name was. She was a far more believable stuck up slut. She was perfect for the role.

You know what would have been classic? If when Becky's pic came up, it was Sarah, then turned to an older lacy, then an older sarah, then lacy again, then back to sarah. It would have fit in perfectly with the show's joke on it.
Anyway, whoever on the show came up with the idea to use the pictures like that is a genius.
Because it was no longer switching between the two. When Sarah Chalke took over in Season 7, they changed it to her. When it went back to Lecy in season 8, they made the joke by having Chalke pop in during the eps on occasion while also having her being shown as a Becky. When Lecy left the show completely, the joke stopped, and they decided to not drudge it up anymore.

Season nine was the best of all the seasons, and I love the theme song: What doesn't kill us is making us stronger, were gonna last longer than the greatest wall in china or that rabbit with the drum. If theres one thing that I've learned while waiting for my turn, its that in each life some rain falls but you also get some sun. And will make out better than ok, hear what I say, oh anyday. P.S. omg i know! SEASON 9 SUCKED!! Season 8 shouldve been were they ended it like they were supposed to, but no, stupid ABC ended it with the crap they put in! Maybe thats why ABC declined after 1997
They only had them fight because John Goodman wanted to leave the show, but Roseanne and the producers wanted to continue on. They managed to snag him for the few episodes he was in, but they had to find a way to explain his absence.

The season began with Roseanne holed up at Jackie's after walking out on Dan. Jackie wins the lottery, and Roseanne returns to Dan. Darlene has her baby, who was born premature, Harris Conner Healy, who almost died. Roseanne and Dan are swarmed by the press, and they pledge to stay ordinary folk. Roseanne figures out that Dan had an affair while visiting his mom, who later tries to kill him. Meanwhile, Bev comes out as a lesbian and meets a girl named Joyce.
I hate to sound like an ass but did roseanne have work done because she looks really different from the start of the series and the end, and no it's not just the weight and hair.
Yes, she had plastic surgery trying to preserve her young,as she put it (i.e. plastic surgery, breast reduction, bleach blonde hair). She's finally letting herself go grey and quite frankly, she looks nice.

Because it was no longer switching between the two. When Sarah Chalke took over in Season 7, they changed it to her. When it went back to Lecy in season 8, they made the joke by having Chalke pop in during the eps on occasion while also having her being shown as a Becky. When Lecy left the show completely, the joke stopped, and they decided to not drudge it up anymore.

Season nine was the best of all the seasons, and I love the theme song: What doesn't kill us is making us stronger, were gonna last longer than the greatest wall in china or that rabbit with the drum. If theres one thing that I've learned while waiting for my turn, its that in each life some rain falls but you also get some sun. And will make out better than ok, hear what I say, oh anyday. P.S. My favorite episode is "Into that good night"

omg i know! SEASON 9 SUCKED!! Season 8 shouldve been were they ended it like they were supposed to, but no, stupid ABC ended it with the crap they put in! Maybe thats why ABC declined after 1997

They only had them fight because John Goodman wanted to leave the show, but Roseanne and the producers wanted to continue on. They managed to snag him for the few episodes he was in, but they had to find a way to explain his absence.

He went to California to take care of his mother, and started having feelings for his mother's nurse.. So they went out a few times.
He told Roseanne that they didn't do anything, and we never get to see what actually happened.

Season 9 (1996-1997)
The season began with Roseanne holed up at Jackie's after walking out on Dan. Jackie wins the lottery, and Roseanne returns to Dan. Darlene has her baby, who was born premature, Harris Conner Healy, who almost died. Roseanne and Dan are swarmed by the press, and they pledge to stay ordinary folk. Roseanne figures out that Dan had an affair while visiting his mom, who later tries to kill him. Meanwhile, Bev comes out as a lesbian and meets a girl named Joyce.

Yes, she had plastic surgery trying to preserve her young,as she put it (i.e. plastic surgery, breast reduction, bleach blonde hair). She's finally letting herself go grey and quite frankly, she looks nice.
