I see what Joe means that you can't drink potions in combat you have to meditate, but i actually prefer it. It forces you to prepare before shit hits the fan. Sometimes you can't forsee it but the difficult fights have a build up, if you invest in the alchemy tree, bombs and traps get wmore powerful and essential in combat...and yes...you can use those in combat immediately with a button click, just like signs. I am from Poland, read the books many times, played the games and am proud of it. :D

I would also say, that Alchemy is great thing here. It is really useful, not as in OTHER GAMES. The effects here are very strong, if you have leveled and spend points well on alchemy. Also it is the part of Witcher franchise, who is learned that way to use it. Magic here is simple, but again, those are only signs, similar to Skyrims roars. Great way is that every skill tree in Witcher is great and matters somehow and makes your experience really different.

Hi, I do not get why this game got only 8/10 and not 9/10 or I would say 10/10 as the Skyrim. It is different genre or RPG. I also hate the speed travel option, because it makes you lazy. Graphics and Animations sucks (played on ultra) compared to Witcher 2. I think, characters has much more personality in Witcher. Maybe it is the fact, I live in Slavonic Country, but Skyrim while big, open and great game I enjoy, Witcher for me is much better, and I have not even tried that 2.0 patch.

@WakizashiSabre There is a pach that repairs dead pixels in Skyrim and Witcher 2 gets 8/10 because it's not as free as Witcher1+it has a very very high system requirements that most ppl doesnt meet,like Uber sampling ,you will need radeon 5860 HD to even think of starting this game in Uber sampling,and to have at least 30 fps.But has improved storyline and not so many choices as Witcher 1 that means a shit if you dont have buget to buy better computer.In my opinion its still very good game.

I guess it depends, what player want. Skyrim has free space (and with mods it lookds really pretty, though animation sucks a bit and I do not think all characters have perfect scheduels and life) Or deep characters graphics as Witcher. I enjoy very much Skyrim with my Conan, though.

I feel like this game has dropped me into the twilight zone or something. Everyone says it's too hard to learn. I figured it out pretty quick by just looking online for stuff. I still don't understand what everyone sees in this game. It's nice to look at and has a great story and characters but the actual gameplay is almost intolerable. I couldn't STAND the way spells work in this and how the game almost forces you to use them all the time from the word go. This game confused the hell outta me.

@Joshieboy11211 I don't see the change's between console and PC. All the thing's like, dumb down graphics, Texture pop in's ( I think it happens on PC's too, I dunno) and frame rate(which does tend to happen on PC's too) are REALLY minor differences.

The one thing that would make console's more superior to PC's is if you could upgrade it (Eye toy, kenect does not count since they do not enhance performance). If MICROSOFT and SONY, caught on to the graphics card's and such.It would the same as PC

Yes in a sence this is a Bioware concept because the first Witcher was build on Bioware Aurora engine and the storiline was written by Bioware using two books of Andrzej Sapkowski's short stories.If so then the second series of Witcher had to be build on the same concept again Bioware approach.But CD project did an exelent job in details best game so far next to Dragon Age : Origins of course.

The only problem I had was the inability to compare two equipment from the shop screen. I guess its the controller. Joe said he used the XBOX controller to fix the guard response.

First of all, there is no "fast-travel" because there is no far distances. Farest distance quest asks u to go is about 2min far, and there are always something happenin' by te way. Etc. monsters att u, u might just run away, but if u beat them u might find some great loot.

Second, u cannot say Epilogue dissapointed you when THERE ARE 16 ENDINGS! Mine ending was awesome, you'r might suck (as same as this recension does).

@WAXstudios If you play the first game then you have a chance to import you own character from TW1 with your own choices so I answer your question by saying yes and no, as there are many characters that you wouldn't know who they are, however it is easy to get into the story just like with mass effect were if you start with the second one you don't loose much.

I recommended this game to you as it is the most beautiful c'RPG for now. I have it but I can't play it because my Pc can't run the game

I don't really know why quite a few people having problem with the menu system. If you have played any PC RPGs, like BG, PST, Diablo, or M&M, you can figure out how it works relatively quickly. For instance, "I", "J", and "C" are for inventory, journal, and character stats, and drag and drop to equip items. The only unusual design is the meditation, but even this is easy to figure out because you just have to click a button, which appears after you pressed the Ctr key.
