  • I like how the explosive impact debris looks like the haemorrhaging blood of a victim who's just been knifed in the chest. Awesome stuff!

  • I remember when I first saw this at the theatre. I got goosebumps when the title sequence came up. X3

  • @SUPERVANMAN64 you and me both dude.Even now, just playing this. Sure the film had its flaws but on the whole...great stuff, especially if it brings the Star Trek world to those youngsters who see the original series as being a bit dated

  • Andrew Kramer from VideoCopilot is the one who made this title design. Brilliant!

  • @7MJ4EVER he also worked with JJ on the Fringe opening titles. I don't know if you'd noticed that.

  • Chills.

  • I think that who made this film was a Trekkie

  • @TheLeon96Ahuel You think wrong.

  • @Trekfreek me, i thinks is a good movie, and me if i will be Director, i will make a movie of star trek, i'm a trekkie.

  • @TheLeon96Ahuel Use it as inspiration and try creating something original - and make sure it doesn't involve "vampires." (Oy vey.)

  • @worldends08 haha it's not a bad idea. and that I try to not use vampires? lol I do not like them.

  • @TheLeon96Ahuel What are you trying to say? Please make your point more clear young man.

  • @Trekfreek I said that I love this movie and I find it good. because I am a trekkie. and if one day I would be filmmaker, I would make a Star Trek movie.

  • Aaah...chills every time. I totally agree. This is my once-a-week movie.

  • Out of synch, music/video.

  • 3 people were on the Kelvin

  • this was a great movie fuck the haters.

  • @mkrulz77 This film has haters? Why?

  • @SpexGuy1118 Trust me I've seen plenty of people bag on this film comparing it to the original series and movies and what not on youtube and rotten tomatoes etc., lol

  • @SpexGuy1118 Because its a bad movie not just a bad star trek.

  • I'll never forget when I saw this for the first time. Chills like I never had before.

  • @sodapo461 Those Chills were the echoes of Roddenberry spinning in his grave.

  • Great Title Sequence.

  • Even though I wasn't a fan much of going backwards this was a great movie and really well done.

  • Ah yes, Michael Giacchino. Melting our ears with your awesomeness as usual!

  • This is a brilliant video I have the blind commentary version of it if people want to see.

  • @Puffycheeks288 Blind commentary? You must have missed my warning about what will happen if you don't watch this movie with sunglasses on.

  • Favourite!!!

  • I remember how exciting this was when i saw it in the theaters, oh my god it was nostalgic, this movie awakened my old hunger for star trek material, THERE HAS TO BE A 2012 FILM!

  • @capoteo96 "this movie awakened my old hunger for star trek material" If that's the case any two of the original series episodes compiled together to make one movie (must include lens flares and big explosions) would have done the same thing. If I had never seen a Star Trek before, this movie would make me go around and destroy anything and everything with the Star Trek name on it. It's that bad. Do you like your heroes to be jackasses who get their way even though they treat everyone like shit?

  • @BondFreek HELL YEAH!, IN FACT IM AN ASSHOLE, I LOVE ASSHOLISH HEROES, man, i don't take it back, this movie as a star trek film satisfied me, as a movie its was pretty good, but either way... That's just my opinion and i understand not everyone relates.

  • @capoteo96 OOoooooooK... I would not go around telling everyone that "I'm..." if I were you kid. It is hard enough to get jobs now days without painting a negative picture of yourself. I never said that you should not like it. You can like what you want to like. I'm just saying don't say it's a good movie without proof to back up that kind of statement. I too like some bad movies, "Godzilla movies" (I don't view them as "so bad there good" I just like them) But I admit that they are BAD movies.

  • @BondFreek Well it's nice to see people still respect opinions. @_@

  • Comment removed

  • @BondFreek But don't think for a second that I don't respect and love the original series, because I always will.

  • @capoteo96 It's not a matter of respect, it's a matter of knowing what makes a good movie & what Gene's original vision of Trek was about. This new Trek was just a bad remake of Star Wars with a ton of Trek references in it. The plot is about a bully/criminal/jackass picking fights, disrespecting everyone he hates, following the force & instantly being promoted from cadet to captain of the flag ship by the same people that he shitted on. No morals, no controversial subject. The film is just BS!

  • i used to find star trek so BORING until this film

  • I think the point of the AU was to preserve the original timeline of the series whilst still creating a movie that did something original with well-established characters. And let's face it, hardcore trek fans were going to hate this movie no matter what form the plot took.

  • @ngK44

I'm really a Trek fan at heart and I actually liked the new movie. I thought it was good and fun. I love every interpretation of Star Trek. The classic/original, animated, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Enterprise, and all the movies (some I liked less than the others).

  • @ngK44 I am a hardcore Trek fan (NOT the "convention" kind lol), and I adored every moment of this film. It had lots of nods to the past, and the torch was passed by Nimoy to the new "old" crew in a new universe.

I hope they make more of these. All of the actors were fantastic in this, as was the script.

    Star Trek>Star Wars

  • Comment removed

  • @SPQRImperator What made it fantastic, the nostalgia? You could have gotten that by watching a bunch of clips. It is you who need to start using manners. I have said many many times you can like it if you want but it is still a badly made movie that has nothing to do with Star Trek. If it was Trek Where was the political, spiritual, or personal life lessons that Trek is famous for? I'm not talking about Car Bears lessons. Try Star Trek: New Voyages, now that’s good new Trek starring Kirk & Crew.

  • good work, andrew kramer!

  • L E N S F L A R E

  • To the older Trek fans who feel betrayed... I look at this as what was intended; an AU that was meant to change everything without completely erasing what we already knew. And I finally got my brother to watch Star Trek. It's not bad. It's just different. I am a fan of the prime universe, but I love this one too. And the music is great!

  • @PeachWookiee This Trekverse has canonized itself as "alternate". The normal Trek universe is intact and well, and new stories can be written for it. I prefer the "normal" Star Trek universe myself, and would have preferred that the film was actually based on the original characters. The idea was okay, but I think it was poorly executed. Star Trek Classic *IS* based on equal doses of science and cheesiness, as well as very specific characters, stupid politics, and logically applied technology.

  • @Idazmi7 I like how the new universe has made Jim Kirk more of a rebel and Spock has embraced the idea that logic is the beginning of wisdom much earlier. I find I like both the Prime and the AU.

  • @PeachWookiee I like the "Jim Kirk as a rebel" idea, but Starfleet Academy should have whipped him into shape a bit. Also, I hated the way they portrayed the Romulans and Vulcans in general. Lately, Romulans have become less civilized (starting with Nemesis and Shinzon) And Vulcans are slowly becoming odious bullies, instead of the 'queer' peacekeepers that saved earth from destruction after the Eugenics Wars. Uhura was great in Star Trek 3, and not so... dare I say it... "bitchy".

  • GREAT OPENING MUSIC!

  • GLORIOUS

  • This title sequence is dedicated to George Kirk, who gave his life so the opening sequence could end and we could enjoy it

  • Star Trek LIVES................

  • I went to see Star Trek on the opening day, and when I saw the title and credits, I had an inkling feeling that said "reminds me of Andrew Kramer". Then by some fluke, I actually caught his name in the rolling credits and flipped shit.

  • @UniTProductions He definitely has a very clear style!

  • Tympani!

  • @sentient02970 Timpani*

  • @1984making Hypocrite.

  • @Trekfreek You should know about being a hypocrite. Trolls and hypocrites like you first gripe about all the flashy visuals, and now you gripe about the lack of visuals. Any wonder you have no credibility and why your knowledge and understanding of Star Trek is pathetic?

  • @Potrimpo What are you talking about? I never complained about the lack of visuals regarding this movie. I have said many times that this title sequence is way over the top. You really should learn to read. Now First Contact there was an amazing opining credits, simple yet dramatic. But Star Trek (XI) reminds me of Godzilla against MecaGodzilla, title sequence gigantic over the top and pointless. Potrimpo, you really should pay attention to whom you are writing to.

  • @Trekfreek And the number of times I have seen your hypocracy makes me laugh. The number of times that you claim to understand Star Trek, and Star Trek itself disproves you. In fact, have you ever been proven right? So far the record says no.

  • @Potrimpo Now… now... You really should not self project like that. It is not healthy.

  • apparently the title sequence will be altered for the next film hinting at the return of the tos series intro

  • Comment removed

  • This was one of the worst title sequences. All they did was build a 3d model of the title and added lens flares. A three year old could have done (and has done that) on a PC with the 3d Title software. Hell it did not even have credits. It's I ironic that this was a big complaint about Nemesis but with this movie those same people love it

  • The twelve minutes preceding this opening title=pure epicness.

  • I had goosebumps when I saw the Title appear. I loved it! ^^

  • I laughed my ass off when I head this in theatres. Sad day in film scores

  • @BrachioInGen "I laughed my ass off when I heard this in theatres" So did I! Didn't remind you of the 1970's Godzilla movies, way over the top and ridiculous?

  • @Trekfreek Totally! Almost as bad as I laughed when I heard ROAR play after cloverfield. I heard that and was like "whaaat...is this... the ending is so emotional and then THIS plays?" and at the time I thought it sounded like something from the TOS Star Trek lol! Woman vocalizing over the orchestra...similar orchestrations lol. Little did I realize...this was in the wings lol

  • I rember when i saw this in the theater with my grampa when everyone saw the star fleet emblem with the name "Star trek" The entire theater went crazy. Makes me glad to be a Trekkie.

  • Lord, I love that sequence. The swelling music and the rotating logo. The words! Woo!

  • @Trekfreek Some people think simplicity is better :)

  • @vielgluck09 They did not think so with Nemesis. The best Title sequence in Trek history was Star Trek IV. The slow build up timed with the buildup of the background, with the transporter effect revealing the title. It was simply marvelous. But Jar Jar's Star Trek was more like a Godzilla Title without the credits. I literally expected the Godzilla Roar when the Title appeared.

  • @Trekfreek mmmkay, you're allowed your favourite. I like this title though, especially after the epic opening sequence. :) IV's not bad either really, but it's not my favourite (I'm trying to decide what that is, currently).

  • @vielgluck09 The Opening was Big alright but it was also very bad. I kept expecting Bruce Willis to walk in and tell Chris Hemsworth how to do it, because he did the same scene in Armageddon (another bad Sci-Fi film). Fortunately Chris Hemsworth landed the lead in Thor and had one of the best directors, Kenneth Branagh, helping him improve his performance. Jar Jar Abrams could not direct traffic if his life depended on it.

  • @actionguy we get your point and we dont have to agree with it so let people just talk to each other about the amazing film without interuptions!!!

  • Just imagine this. The scene before with the USS Kelvin was such a tearjerker as the audience learns of the fate of Kirk's father and Kirk's birth. Then you get the outer view of the escape pods and what's left of the Kelvin. The music starts up. The first 6 notes indicate something's happening. Those notes that bump up and down like a hill are just to hold you in suspense. Then those loud chords showing the Star Trek Insignia. The main theme plays with STAR TREK showing. Welcome back.

  • One of the best title sequences!!

  • how can you put this online without paramount is shutting down your account?

  • That was a hell of an opening for a hell of a movie. I can't wait for the new one!

  • Love this music and title sequence.

  • Stupidest movie I have ever tried to sit through. "Over-the-top" music, ridiculous plot,

lens flared filled shitfest JJ Abrams is NOT a film director! Abrams, Orci and Kertzman need to stick to TV and leave film production to the guys who wear the long pants!

  • @Actionguy1 Are you trolling here too? Don't tell me, you're also known as Trekfreek and Bondfreek...

  • @mrgarymakin No. Just a person with better tastes than an imbecile like you.

  • I have a question. I'm an emerging trekkie and I just saw this movie (my 2nd Star Trek movie, 1st was Generations). Since there was no fixing of the time-space continuum caused by Nero warping 129 years to the past, does this mean that a new alternate reality of Star Trek has been created?

  • @TheWinMacLinTechie: Correct.

  • yes so open to all ideas!! very clever idea

  • fvck yeah, this makes me wanna watch this again, the koolest opening jam to a movie I ever seen and heard

  • the movie was great and the music was even better!

  • the guy who did this intro does the intro for fringe. look up video copilot and you can learn how to make this awesomness

  • Giacchino is legendary.

  • Great movie. Not made like the other Star Trek movies, but it did save the franchise. Long time Star Trek fans should be thankful this movie was made. I know I am.

  • @BuffaloHockeyTown hi i am a new star trek fan but i wonder WHY many star trek fans hates the new film saying is contradicting the older star trek and not like the original so on and so forth dun mind u explaine thanks

  • @Badboy21thekiller Simple": Watch the old show, and pay attention to the underline point of the episodes. You will see controversial subjects like war, race hatred, religion, procreation, and why must humans suffer in life. This new movie is about using the force and destiny. It's also a bad movie even if it was not called Star Trek.

  • Hory shet

  • I was watching the movie for the first time in cinema, and when this part came up I became so emotioneel, from this part I couldn't let my eyes go anywhere alse then the movie.

  • im a trekker but this movie sucks, vulcan is destroyed? in TNG we see how picard goes to vulcan several times. 100 hundred years later!!! tattooed romulans? someone have to go and say to JJ Abrahams that he doesn't know anything about ST!!!

  • @hijodejoseluis Did you even listen to the movie? It is said straight out that this is a new continuity, due to the time travel that Spock and Nero did. Therefore, in this franchise, anything that came out of Star Trek previously, including TNG and TOS are no longer canon.

  • @8comicbookman8

They are still canon but existing in their separate continuities.

This movie was brilliant in how it reboots the Star Trek without interfering in stablished canon.

  • @cambaprecoz Yea I agree I was just saying that in the continuity of the new movie that the things that hijodejoseluis was saying don't happen now in the new movie franchise.

  • @hijodejoseluis - So you'd also know that Spock mentions the timeline's been changed, of course.

  • ABSOLUTELY EPIC OPENING!!!

  • Andrew Kramer is AWESOME! Thumbs up if you love Video CoPilot!

  • Oh so this is called "Enterprising Young Men"? I thought it was the NASA-anthem by now :p

  • Andrew Kramer :)

  • When the title finally showed up, I was like, "I am f**kin' in!"

  • That title pumps me up!

  • Also if anyone is curious, the title sequences were done by Andrew Kramer and team. He also did both the original and retro versions of the Fringe TV show sequence. You can find him at VideoCopilot . net for some awesome tips on After Effects. (Free plug Andrew... you earned it lol)

  • @failboatpolice That has to be one of the best web sites I've ever seen. He's amazing. Thanks for posting!

  • Just what I've been looking for. Thank you :D

  • Best damn title card since Star Wars.

  • Loud music is assaulting my eardrums... AND I LOVE IT.

  • Short, simple, and VERY effective. Love it. Can't wait to see what the next movie will do for its title sequence.

  • @atarian2049

so they are doing a sequal i thought it was like the last movie like a one time thing just surprise everyone

  • @NorshDEBNANYDOG2

They've spent millions on profiling this whole thing as the "new generation of Star Trek" we're bound to be watching sequels some day...

  • nice vett at the end

  • I know... it really adds to the effect of the title sequence in a strange, startling, and effective way.

  • That music still gets to me every time.

  • best music ever! thanks for posting it in 1080p dude!
